To be frank....I dont know what game you were watching GJN23 but the spread WAS 100% in jeopardy at the end of the game if SEA went for 2 on last TD as they should have.

I never said CHI was in jeopardy of loosing the game....but to allow SEA to score two TDS at the end of the game at home is one word....UNACCEPTABLE!! :nono: :nono: :nono:

why exactly should sea have gone for 2?

isnt the rule of thumb to make the needed 2 point conversion on the last td???

i'll answer my own question...YES.....so, no, the spread wasnt ever in doubt.

No, it is not last TD, it is what the book says. If you don't convert, than you know you will need two TD's instead of kicking a fg. The book says to go for 2 down 12...

The point is moot.

Zamo said that the Bears let the Seahawks back into the game last Sunday which never happened and when called on it, talked about the spread being in jeapordy which isn't the point.

I don't know who won the argument, but Zamo's lost

Carry on :0008

Super Bears!! Super Bowl!! :00hour

i have no idea what book you got that from other than the crazy mans book....

trail by 1, go for 2?
trail by 3, go for 2?
trail by 4, and its a decision?
trail by 12 and go for 2?

obviously the person who wrote the book has no math skills and doesnt understand the concept of 1-2 possession games and cant factor in field goals.

Guys....I NEVER said CHI was in jeopardy of loosing the game. It's so easy to twist a comment isnt it? I said CHI allowed SEA back in the game by scoring two TD's which in fact jeopardized the spread.

IMO- any MANY others....SEA should have gone for 2. CHI bettors were LUCKY they didnt! To suggest the spread was not in jeopardy is just being obtuse.

BBC- Check my spelling and grammer please...thanks!! :0074

which is it?

chi let sea back in the game or the spread was in doubt?

option 1 is a bold face lie and option 2 was really never in doubt unless the bears dont get the last onside kick with a min left.

you still havent explained why going for 2 is an option in any of the scenarios in your "book" and quite honestly, i DIDNT feel "lucky" to cover the spread.

Here is a better version of the chart which makes more sense pertaining to time left in the game and probability statistics

http://www.footballcommentary.com/twoptchart.htm

SEA should have gone for two with the time left in the game IMO. This is NOT a fact but a choice and a decision. I bet if you polled half of the head coaches, half would have gone for it and half wouldn't. This is why the spread was in fact 100% in jeopardy.

BBC....come on dude...don't be so friggin literal. Is it because I called you out for being pompus earlier in your thread regarding another persons spelling? Get a grip dude.....

What I "meant" to say by letting someone back in the game is they gave up two late TD's in a playoff game which they should never have done. It was unacceptable!! I never said the game was in jeopardy but the line was!! To assume it wasn't is being obtuse and I 100% stand by that.

My opinions on a couple things in this thread:

I don't rate the coaching staffs much different, personally, and don't consider the Packers staff to be superior to the Bears, especially in a one game scenario. I think Lovie does a good job managing people and emotions, which will be important today (see: Martz). I respect Capers, but don't think he far surpasses Marinelli in scheming. I think McCarthy can get frustrated, and I think he makes some questionable decisions if things aren't going right. I think Tice has done a great job with the Bears offensive line coming down the stretch, as that was their biggest concern early on.

I don't think you can simply say the Bears pass rush/Peppers will have trouble getting to Rodgers due to the field, and not say the same thing about the Packers and Matthews. The Bears certainly have played on that field more, and better know what to expect.

I rate Rodgers ahead of Cutler in most respects, and think the Pack has a great thing going right now. I think the Bears rushing attack and passes to the backs are better suited for a game like this and will favor the Bears. Special teams nod to the Bears, I think, by a good margin.

Personally, I still don't trust Cutler, but he is certainly capable of big plays at key times. Disrupting Rogers early is the biggest key in the game, IMO. If he gets comfortable back there, the Pack should cover nicely. I don't really expect that today, but it could happen.

I think this is a no-wager for me, too many questions that I can't answer. If I were to bet it, I would take the Bears at home, probably.

Good luck everybody.

half??

i bet if you polled all the coaches, none or maybe one would go for two in that situation.

one, the game is over

two, even if you think you're in it, going for 2 doesnt help you at all and in fact HURTS you if you miss.

BBC....chill man!!! It is Championship Sunday!! I am not the guy looking to make a serious beef with anyone. If anything you were not being totally cool by busting on someone's spelling and making him feel bad....to me I think that's wrong and mean.

If you call me out on something....don't think I am not going to defend myself because you are tight with Jack. . If IE or Jack or any other admin wants to ban me...thats their decision. I have been coming to this site for the past 8-10 years so I am no newbie looking to be an A-HOLE like many others in the past!

For those that wants to make fun of my POV....go ahead...part of it I guess. Regarding the chart GJN likes to make fun of.... I quickly googled on line....found one on Wikapedia and copy/pasted...sorry I didnt look at everything on it for "accuracy". I found a better version anyhow to help prove the point I was trying to make.

that's it.....call me schmuck, stick your chest out ...whatever man....I am simply going to ride high this Sunday as I look forward to these games and some healthy fun chatter...as long as I don't get banned!!
