NBA Playoffs: 21-13-1 (+120 dimes)

25 Dime

LAKERS

Lay the points with the Lakers tonight when they host the Spurs in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals.

The Lakers are the better team here, there?s no question about it.

The Spurs might be the defending champs and they may have disposed of a game New Orleans team in seven games, but this is a whole different animal they?re facing tonight.

The Lakers gelled almost instantly when they traded for Pau Gasol. It finally gave them a player that Kobe Bryant could work with and as a result the Lakers went on a run and look to be the best team in the conference, if not the entire league.

The Spurs are still tough, but they?re starting to look just a tad bit old to me. They did what they had to do in the last round, but I don?t see them stopping the Lakers. Not at Staples Center anyway.

The Lakers have won 16 of their last 19 games and are on a 10-2 SU (9-2-1 ATS) run in their last 12.

The Spurs are just 2-8 ATS on the road, 1-4 ATS as an underdog and 2-5-1 ATS against Pacific Division foes.

The Lakers have been cashing the ticket routinely, with ATS runs of 9-0-1 after a SU win, 5-0 after three or more days rest, 6-1 at home, 5-1 as a home chalk of five to 10 ? points, 7-2 as a chalk of any price and 8-2-1 against winning teams.

I just don?t think the Spurs have what it takes to steal home court advantage with a win here, and I also think the Lakers will slowly pull away in the second half of this one.

Take the Lakers minus the points as they grab the home win and cover.

10 Dime

PHILLIES (With Moyer and Chico as listed pitchers)

Take the Phillies for the road win tonight over the Nationals.

Sorry, but Matt Chico has to be one of the worst pitchers in all of baseball. The left-hander is 0-5 with a 6.07 ERA in 10 games this year. He?s also 0-2 with a 10.95 ERA over his last three games.

The Phillies will start Jamie Moyer and the ageless left-hander is 3-3 on the year with a 4.89 ERA. Moyer has had good success against the Nationals franchise in his career, going 8-4 with a 3.06 ERA in 18 games.

Take the Phillies as they grab the road win.

5 Dime

INDIANS (With Byrd as listed pitcher)

I?m going to try this again. Let?s take the Tribe tonight for the road win over the White Sox.

It didn?t work out yesterday for me or my paying clients yesterday, but I?m coming right back with the Indians tonight.

Paul Byrd will start for the Tribe and the right-hander is 2-3 on the year with a solid 3.61 ERA. He?s been great against the ChiSox in his career, going 8-2 with a 4.22 ERA in 13 games.

The White Sox will counter with Javier Vazquez and he is a tough pitcher, but the Tribe battered him once already this season and I like them to bounce back from last night?s loss to get the win here.

Take the Indians as they grab the road win.

Larry Ness

15* NL Game of the Week: 24-13 s/Apr 7 $35.00
Larry's lost back-to-back GOW plays but is still a "money-making" 24-13 since April 7 with the same plays which crushed MLB's moneyline last year, going 121-50 during the regular season. Join this 24-year vet tonight as "the winning resumes" with his 15* NL Game of the Week. Get it now and win BIG with Larry.

Late-Breaking Play-MLB (5-0?) $35.00
Larry always likes to take a "2nd look" at the day's card and when he finds something new or just something he missed the first time through, he releases a Late-Breaking Play. Larry's Late-Breaking Plays in MLB have been 'MONEY' in '08, going a PERFECT 4-0. Don't get "caught on the sidelines" for Larry's latest Late-Breaking winner in MLB!
