How's the MAC-Daddy of the MAC-10? Speaking of the MAC, my Iowa Hawkeyes open with two straight against them. Aug 31st, we have Akron in Iowa City, and on Sept 7th, we will travel to Miami(oh).

Not worried at all about Akron at home; should be a major blowout and a chance for everyone to pick up some easy $$$$.

My question is.... is Miami(Oh) got anything? Speed? Good QB? Home field advantage? I see the Hawkeyes winning out there, but will they win by more than a TD?

Good luck in school this semester, and anytime you wanna share any good info. about you and the girlfriend- go right ahead. This old, married guy likes to live vicariously thru you young dudes......

LOL redsfann....your correct the Hawkeyes do open up with 2 MAC games. Akron blows - they have nobody. All they got is a good young RB.

But Miami(OH)....ohhhh mann. Talk about fun n gun! I have probably mentioned this a zillion times but I`ll mention it again...I played against Miamis QB in high school. This guy is simply awesome...but you dont hear about him because of Byron Leftwich getting all the hoopla of QBs in the MAC. Ben Rothlisberger is Miamis QB. Very TALL very Athletic...has a cannon arm...they run the same offense we do - spread. They will mix it up...they have a very balanced offense - and they held Marshall to 24 points...something like that. Which aint bad really. Rothlisberger was freshman of the year. Sophomore QB Ben Roethlisberger. He came in and instantly rewrote the Miami record book. He should be even stronger this season with a year to work out and get bigger and stronger.

As far as the D is concerened...they probably have the 2nd best LB core in the MAC (2nd to Toledo). Junior LB Terrell Jones. He's taken the MAC by storm in the first two years with 218 tackles and 15 tackles for loss. When allowed to roam free, his running skills and instincts make him the league's best linebacker.They play alot of cover 2 and they have very fast corners....lack size though. CB Ryan Sprague. The secondary could be the team's weak link. CB Milt Bowen is solid, but Sprague will have to step up on the other side and make plays.

Not saying they will beat Iowa...but they will give them problems...they gave MICHIGAN problems last year...They were within 1 score the whole time till the 4th quarter. It was only 7-17 at the half! and this was AT Michigan! That was BEns 1st game I think...or 2nd. Fact of the matter is...they return alot of starters...dont think your playing La-Monroe here....your DBs better be ready.
