All rankings/spdomization debates aside, the real point is this week's game.

Solid pick on WVU, which, by the way, is having Homecoming this weekend.

Good to see you posting. This kind of reminds me of embryology in medical school. Our former french gynecologist was explaining the female vagina one day, when he told us of the Parisian prostitute that had 2 vaginas. explaining that this resulted from a migration fusion failure. When his attending physician asked her which one she used, she indignantly replied "One is for business...... the other for pleasure. Sorry, wrong membrane , ... maybe this all goes down in either Kingsport or Johnson city ....

Better than Ohio State ?

He said conference not country. OSU is the best team in the country, hands down. Michigan is number 2 and West Virginia is a close 3rd. Louisville will not beat West Virginia this year. If MTSU can play with them for 3 quarters, then what do you think West Virginia will do to Louisville? I know WVs defense isn't that great, but feel they can outscore most teams excluding Ohio State. BTW, they are gonna slaughter Syracuse this week. Good Luck Clem! I'm on the Mountaineers as well

I know a lot of people don't like WV being ranked so high--especially because of their SOS...

But bottom line, aside from Lousville, I don't think WV could beat anyone in the top 15 and maybe even top 20!

middle tennessee did not play with louisville. that game was semi-close on the scoreboard only, and a byproduct of louisville's apathy. at no point during that game did mtsu look like they belonged on the field with louisville. their initial 10 points came from the kickoff return for a TD and then a FG when louisville turned the ball over in their own red zone. mtsu didnt even get a first down on the drive. they just recovered the fumble, went 3 and out, and then kicked a FG. then the late TD was a nice drive where they looked like a football team. but that game wasnt close.

louisville's defense is definitely superior to west virginias. they showed that last year before wvu got their late rally. and thats the case again this year. without questiion, both teams are offensive juggernauts. but one team (lville) at least has a semblance of a defense. heck, they lost their best defensive player from last year and are still better than wvu on that side of the ball.

but thats for down the road.

i agree with clem on this one that wvu can roll the cuse.

Clem, always respect your opinion as you are an extremely solid capper. However, West Virginia is getting screwed being dropping in the polls because they haven't played anyone. If they beat L'ville and Pitt and remain undefeated, they have a good shot at going to the Championship game without playing a tough schedule. Sure there are some decent teams in the Big East, but how do you explain their pathetic non-conference schedule? Last year, WVA played Va. Tech. In the end, if WVA is undefeated, they will get a legit shot unless the other undefeated teams played a solid schedule from a legit conference. Also, to say WVA would score 35 on Ohio State is outlandish IMO. Ohio State would beat WVA on a neutral field by 7 points at least and that is a very fair assessment.

We'll see on Nov 2nd. Not gonna argue about MTSU/Louisville whether or not MTSU belonged on the field. Its not like Louisville has played anyone this year.

I agree 100 % Clem, and I for one believe the SEC is very over rated, Auburns offense sucks , and they got their ass kicked at home by Ark, Florida is the only team in conference with any offense and watch Auburn dump them this week. WV & Louisville are 2 very good teams that can play with and beat any one on a given day.

That is good because there are some high school teams with better offenses that what Syracuse puts on the field at times.

WVU 52
Syracuse 10.

I think they pound them early and often. WVU has nothing to look ahead to as UCONN is up next.

Keep in mind

Keep in mind

Cuse lost to Iowa at home by only 7??? Dont want to pee pee on WVU bandwagon jumpers but Cuse does play much better at home and looking at the last 3 games WVU has played they are screaming for a tight one....just my opinion

that was because drew tate didn't play. iowa is an average team at best and got rolled at home by ohio st.

wvu can roll syracuse by 50 if they wanted too. just not sure they do. although unfortunately it would probably serve them well.

wvu can cry all they want. if usc wins out and the mich/ohio st. winner barring a penn st. upset tomorrow stays undefeated that is your championship match. florida won't have the bcs numbers even if they do beat auburn tomorrow which i don't think they will.

its unfair not to have a playoff but since we don't looks like wvu will be left in the wind. i hate usc, but they could match wvu point for point and there defense is better.

gl on the play clem

OH
IMHO

IMHO

Tate did not play.... But WVU has a tendence to play to the level of the competition look at the Maryland and ECU games. Not to mention they did not have the last game locked away untill late. I am in the WVU area and I like the team but yoiu have to understand they have NOT played a tough team and they have NOT looked good on defense. I am on WVU in a parlay because I think @ home they will have an emotional edge against Cuse(who I am not sold on) but I will not say they will run away with this game. They should and can but it is all about how they come out. I would watch out regardless because IMO it will be a DOG fight against Louisville and vs Pitt.

I like WVU but they have not laid the lumber and dominated as they should in games they are expected to run away with. Yes they did beat 2 teams early and hard but haven't done that lately. As for would WVU beat OSU.... no they would not. Ohio St has played well on offense and defense and have beaten tough teams while WVU has show solid offense. I would put them in the same boat as Louisville. I am interested to see how WVU handles a shootout. Then and only then will I see them differently this year.

In conclusion WVU is the better team than Cuse, they still have to get up for the game (which I hope they do) but Cuse will not mail it in and with every min that has them in the game they will get better. Ohio St beat Texas and beat Penn St, WVU has beaten Maryland and ECU..... tougher games will show if WVU is for real on defense, there are a lot of questions in the secondary. They hit hard but they struggle in coverage.

Cheers

Clem, I'm with you on this. WVU perfomred well last year and has great potential this year. They are defintitely a top team and should hand it to 'Cuse. I'm on it large. Thanks for your plays.
