1. The Wire
2. The Sopranos

Cheers/MASH/All In The Family are all #3 contenders but....

3. Arrested Development. Best comedy ever imo.

What are the top three TV shows of all time and why.........

1st Hill Street blues
2nd South Park
3rd LEXX

GoT

:0008

let's update, hard to put anything above those four but:

Better call Saul, BB spin off that's better than BB

Penny Dreadful, tv-series with Eva Green, Timothy Dalton and Josh Harnett etc, top notch acting even though 3rd season didn't have best story line. PD was cancelled half way through 3rd when it was supposed to be 4 seasons long. So they just wrapped it up after half way of third...

Rectify, man sits in prison +20 years for rape and murder, is freed because he was innocent. Maybe best drama i have seen. Plot tells how he tries to reconnect with people who judged him.

maybe not ultimate top three material, but pretty good :0008

1. Dexter - This show is funny, disturbing, thrilling, fun, shocking. Really good acting. While the ending could have been better, I am okay with how it ended.

2. The Wire - This show is better than Dexter, but Dexter is more suited toward my taste. I recognize that The Wire is a superior show. The Wire has better acting than any show ever made. The way they write the seasons so that you follow characters and not a long, drawn out story line is very interesting. You come to love and hate certain characters and your feelings for them change. So fucking good. Love this show.

3. Breaking Bad - This show held my interest from beginning to end. I enjoyed this one a lot and it ended without boring me.

Finally finished Dexter...the x files has to be up there also...agree with breaking bad, have not watched the wire but friends have said it is the best show hbo have ever done.

Anybody found any good shows worth binge watching over the winter?

Bosch - Amazon show I just finished Season 3. Pretty decent cop drama. Season 1 was okay, but Season 2 was very good.

Hannibal - I watched this and really liked the first season but then it started to go down hill.

Goliath - Amazon show with Billy Bob Thornton. It was good but it wrapped up a little too easily/conveniently at the end.

Banshee - Watched the first season and then gave up on it early in season 2. I don't like the shows where people always pull off these miracle scams/plots/plans that go off without a hitch time after time. That's why I didn't care for Sons of Anarchy.

Boardwalk Empire - Finally finished the whole thing (5 seasons). Not good enough to highly recommend but not bad enough to stop watching.

Ray Donovan - Showtime. Awesome show. We watch this as it comes out but worth binging if you can find it.

Billions - Showtime. Very good. Another one I watch when it airs. First two seasons are worth a look if you are looking for a good one.

I have been traveling quite a bit for work the last couple years so I have knocked out a lot of shows I never had time for before. Now I've cleaned out the queue and am looking for new ones. No interest in superheroes or Sci-Fi bullshit.

Liked Bosch as well, but I've read all the books. Good popcorn tv. Nothing incredible, but a good watch. Billions season 1 was great, season 2 bored me.

Patriot is another good one that hasn't been mentioned here yet. One of the best shows I've seen in a long time. It's an amazon prime show and only 1 season so far, but season 2 was picked up. So well done. Just a fantastic show.

1. All in the Family - way ahead of it's time, serious comedy and great actors.

2. Seinfeld - Creative with amazing humor.

3. Saturday Night Live - Stands the test of time

On the course!
MASH was always a favorite. I still watch it today. I'm amazed at the sexual harassment and assault that went on back then.

Exactly what I was hoping someone would do. Thanks for the recommendation. I will check it out.

Few favorites of mine not mentioned yet is Rockford Files, Magnum PI and yes Dallas. Used to always root for Cliff Barnes, lol. Plus Victoria Principle in her prime was the hottest woman ever. :0074

Loved Bonanza when I was younger until I grew up and started wondering why these rich ranchers wore the same fucking clothes each episode.
