Nice to see you are with me Gatorbait
Anders - age does not come into it, you have obviously never seen Floyd live - the best band to ever perform live on this planet, if you ever get the chance to see them they will blow your mind - unfortunately a rare event these days. Much as I hate tribute bands there is a group called The Australian Pink Floyd who are particularly good - have seen them twice in recent years and if you cannot see the originals they are well worth a look, going to see them again soon in Exeter

Interesting thread. In a couple of months, once my university studies let up (!!for a while, dag-nabbit!!) I'll be asking ya to pass the dutchie on the left hand side, if you know what I mean. In the meantime...

Ahem...

Without Waters "grubby fingers" there would be no Floyd. He was, in fact, a founding member. Gilmour was with them from the start as well, he simply didn't appear on Piper. Barrett remains a headcase.

As for the current Floyd, or any since (what was it, 1983 for the Final Cut)...
a Floyd without either Waters or Gilmour is like the Beatles without either Lennon or McCartney.

I know I've been mad. I've always been mad, like most of us are. It is very hard to explain why you are mad, as to explain why you are not mad.

Ian - here's your typical Pink Floyd fan - stoned out of his tree
biggrin.gif
(not you Extra, bigjoe - you posted at the same time I did

)
OK, Anders admits he listened to and enjoyed Pink Floyd before
eek.gif
but with a catch. Spent a few hours during my teen years out of my tree too, and that was the ideal time to watch The Wall on vid in surround sound - freaking out at the fighter plane noise, going to answer the phone at your mate's parents' house when it rings at Pink's place, and weeping when the hooker says "Are you feeling okay?"
Ah, LMFAO at the memories...

I haven't been stoned out of my tree for ages now...well, months anyway.

Anders, dude, I recognize the locale...
New Zealand, that it...
weren't you the one down under who joined the rest of us in $cashing in$ on the Leafs game yesterday?

And, yes, I have memories of being 16 and wasting away with The Wall happenin' on the tele as welle. However, I'm 32 years old now and still enjoy the music of Pink Floyd.
Dark Side rules.
(not that the chicks dig it, thats for sure)

Anders - my mind might have gone (Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!) but was Ted Hawkins the guy who spent most of his life in jail and just played on his own with his guitar - died a couple of years ago?
