Just looking for some different opinions. I have them @ 35-1 to win it all and I want to ensure that I make a profit off of it.

I think it depends on how much you have riding on possible winnings. I would say its just too early to start now, but Gonzaga is a live opponent. If Morrison gets more of the team involved like he did against Indiana, then I say Gonzaga has a shot at the upset. But if he tries to be the one man show then Howland will be able to prep the Bruins to handle that offense.

Once again, it is a futures bet and you played it knowing they would probably be as far as they currently are. Its after this upcoming round of 16 that I would start to hedge unless they get to play the Bradley Braves, and then I would probably hedge being Bradley will be the dog and you could get a nice price. If you start hedging now, you would have to for the next 4 games.

To "INSURE" a profit, you have to start hedging now...I agree with Wise that I THINK the Bruins win, but no one can INSURE it will happen...certainly by now you know anything CAN happen, and that includes the Zags beating UCLA straight up...

if ucla makes it past the zags, dump your money on memphis ML cause they are the first pf the very tough teams they will face.

Not yet, I think the Bruins beat Gonzaga. Wait to see who wins the Memphis/Bradley game. Good luck!

I agree completely.

I think UCLA gets by Gonzaga comforatably...

I would definately wait until they play Memphis (or even Bradley, those guys can play) to start hedging.

GL with whatever you decide. Your wager is looking good, as I see this team at least making the Final 4.

Thanks for the advice guys, I think they get past the Zags too.

Hey EZ:

ensure-vb. to make sure

insure-vb. to pay regular sums to a society on condition that one receives an agreed amount of money in case of loss, accident, death, etc:--n insurance

I would say that I still want to "ENSURE" that I make a profit on my wager. It's never too late to learn. There are G.E.D programs everywhere, you just have to find the motivation.

CK, the Grammarian! Nice call on that one. As for your UCLA futures play, I think I'd start hedging it about now against Gonzaga. That will be a close game, and you get points with the Zags, so you can possibly cash the hedge ticket without losing the futures ticket. Good luck!

You are probably right. Good luck on the ML parlay. I just wonder if Tyus Farmar's wrist will hurt his dribble penetration.

Thanks again for all of the advice guys. The line is moving opposite of how I thought it would. I figured I would see 5's on this one by tipoff. I think the Farmar injury is scaring some people. For some reason, I just don't respect Gonfaga.

in the end ucla is 4 games away from you winning your bet

personally i think it's a dumb move to start hedging now, esp since the ml on gonzaga is not that great

then again, i never hedge unless the upside is tremendous and you just cant afford to lose the amount you already wagered on ucla.....say $1000 at 35-1.....then i might start hedging in the final four.

$50 bucks on ucla at 35-1....who cares, let it ride.....

just my theory.

It doesn't matter if you have $5 or $500 on it, I believe if you have a chance to hedge you should. I don't have more than I can afford to lose on it, or I wouldn't have placed the wager. I think this is the last game UCLA will be favored in the tourney unless Bradley wins. With the line dropping, I will probably let it ride until the elite 8. Any guesses on what the UCLA/Bradley or Memphis line will be?

Kirk i dont know about that. if UCLA wins tonight, and playing in Oakland, they will obviously be favored against Bradley and they are going to be at worst plus 1 or 2 v Memphis. Other than Duke, they would be favored against any team in the East bracket for a final Four game, and would be favored over anyone in the title game other than UConn or Nova.

I DONT THINK IT IS TIME TO HEDGE YET ... THEY SHOULD GET BY GONZAGA ... ALTHOUGH NOTHING IS 100% CERTAIN

PERHAPS WATCH HOW THE LINE MOVES BEFORE GAMETIME AND PLACE SMALL AMOUNT ON GONZ ... BUT I WOULD SIT FOR NOW
