ITS A HOAX

KEEP DRINKING THE KOOL AID :mj07:

Yes, it's a hoax alright! (sarcasm)

One must be truly daft to be oblivious to, or worse, ignore the multiple signs. And to be clear, all these issues are interrelated.

Peace! :)

" Oklahoma has never been known as earthquake country, with a yearly average of about 50 tremors, almost all of them minor. But in the past three years, the state has had thousands of quakes. This year has been the most active, with more than 2,600 so far, including 87 last week.

While most have been too slight to be felt, some, like the quake on Saturday and a smaller one in November that cracked a bathroom wall in Ms. Sexton?s house, have been sensed over a wide area and caused damage. In 2011, a magnitude 5.6 quake ? the biggest ever recorded in the state ? injured two people and severely damaged more than a dozen homes, some beyond repair.

State officials say they are concerned, and residents accustomed to tornadoes and hail are now talking about buying earthquake insurance.

?I?m scared there?s going to be a bigger one,? Ms. Sexton said.

Just as unsettling in a state where more than 340,000 jobs are tied to the oil and gas industry is what scientists say may be causing many of the quakes: the widespread industry practice of disposing of billions of gallons of wastewater that is produced along with oil and gas, by injecting it under pressure into wells that reach permeable rock formations."

"To anyone who continues to deny the reality that is climate change, I dare you to get off your ivory tower and away from the comfort of you armchair. I dare you to go to the islands of the Pacific, the islands of the Caribbean and the islands of the Indian ocean and see the impacts of rising sea levels; to the mountainous regions of the Himalayas and the Andes to see communities confronting glacial floods, to the Arctic where communities grapple with the fast dwindling polar ice caps, to the large deltas of the Mekong, the Ganges, the Amazon, and the Nile where lives and livelihoods are drowned, to the hills of Central America that confronts similar monstrous hurricanes, to the vast savannas of Africa where climate change has likewise become a matter of life and death as food and water becomes scarce. Not to forget the massive hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico and the eastern seaboard of North America. And if that is not enough, you may want to pay a visit to the Philippines right now.

The science has given us a picture that has become much more in focus. The IPCC report on climate change and extreme events underscored the risks associated with changes in the patterns as well as frequency of extreme weather events. Science tells us that simply, climate change will mean more intense tropical storms. As the Earth warms up, that would include the oceans. The energy that is stored in the waters off the Philippines will increase the intensity of typhoons and the trend we now see is that more destructive storms will be the new norm."

Yup. Must be a hoax.

"The Middle East was hit with its heaviest snow storms in 60 years yesterday, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Syria and forcing Israel to allow emergency aid into Gaza.

The storm, named Alexa, extended from Turkey to Egypt, with parts of Cairo reportedly experiencing their first recorded snowfall for years.

Several inches of snow fell in the Sinai Peninsual, usually an arid desert region, while authorities were forced to close the port in the coastal city of Alexandria ? which saw relatively light snowfall ? after a third consecutive day of bad weather and high winds."

"We are battling a storm of rare ferocity," said Nir Barkat, Jerusalem's mayor, who called the snow fall "historic" and a "tsunami". He added: "Only when the storm has eased can we start clearing roadways. We are at the moment using all means to rescue those caught in the storm."

It's not a hoax, you are inside a stupid bubble. It maybe wrong but a hoax is intended to trick someone. I personally know people who spent the most part of their lives studying the phenomenon. People much smarter than me, you, AL Gore, and Jesus Christ for that matter. They didn't produce studies and write papers to trick us or to put us in a hoax. You say it's a "hoax" cause it is cold in December, using that rationale I will prove to be true when it is 100 in Duluth MN on July 01

Furthermore the ice caps have become larger but not because it is colder. The ocean water is warmer than ever, the conditions still form ice. Scientist believe its a wine that has packed the ice together

There are things you can joke about and things that constitute blasphemy.

How can it be blasphemy to state that Jesus of Nazareth was smarter than hedge?

Do you mean to say that hedge was smarter than J of N?

Now THAT would be blasphemy.

Earthquakes are a bit of a stretch to global warming? WTF
What do you suggest they do with the salt water that is seperated from the oil. Dump it in the ocean?
Pumping it back into the earth through an injection well has nothing to do with earthquakes. Thats just stupid. More quackery from the flacky scientific community.
My god it never ends.

You are absolutely correct.

Any type of alteration or modification to the basic structure of the earth cannot have resultant dire consequences. These scientists are indeed a bunch of quacks. All this cause and effect stuff/theory is just stupid. Thanks for clarifying that.

Peace! :)

In the shadows
Past Climate Cycles: Ice Age Speculations

To understand climate change, the obvious first step would be to explain the colossal coming and going of ice ages. Scientists devised ingenious techniques to recover evidence from the distant past, first from deposits left on land, then also from sea floor sediments, and then still better by drilling deep into ice. These paleoclimatologists succeeded brilliantly, discovering a strangely regular pattern of glacial cycles. The pattern pointed to a surprising answer, so precise that some ventured to predict future changes. The timing of the cycles was apparently set by minor changes in sunlight caused by slow variations of the Earth's orbit. Just how that could regulate the ice ages remained uncertain, for the climate system turned out to be dauntingly complex. In particular, it turned out that"greenhouse" gases like carbon dioxide played a surprisingly powerful role in governing global climate. One lesson was clear: the system is delicately poised, so that a little stimulus might drive a great change. (There is a separate essay on shorter-term climate fluctuations, lasting a few years to a century or so, possibly related to Variations of the Sun.)

They have zero data to back the claim. All just speculation. The article states Oklahoma has 4000 disposal wells. I worked in this specific industry for several years and there are less than 50 wells of this type in central Oklahoma. Where are the other 3950 wells? Oklahoma had earthquakes long before they started drilling for oil. Texas uses the same technique to dispose of the saltwater. For some reason I have not heard of any such earthquakes in that area. The scientist are spouting theory's. End of story. You are welcome.

I don't know anything about them, but I looked up "disposal wells in Oklahoma". This article shows a map of the other ones.

But Jaxx said was end of story? You are welcome?

Nice find WHN. I will admit there is some compelling parallel's between the disposal wells and the activity. Also one of the articles admits that "None of these reports have claimed to have absolute proof that the two are linked. In other words, there is no scientific certainty surrounding the phenomenon".
It appears the map is including any well that has been used as injection. The operation of injecting the by product of oil production being saltwater back in the ground has been in use for 40 years using dead non-producing wells. Pumping the water to the same depth the well produced at while live. End of story? Appears not. I was a tad strong on that one. Very interesting subject. Thanks for the heads up Chrryblsr.

Ryan says more hostage taking in the works for the debt by this spring.

.................................................................................................

the amount of money they spent on the last government shutdown would have funded the needed unemployment payments for the next year.
but instead, the right wing squandered that money on an ego trip, leaving over a million people to go hungry, to lose their housing, to lose what little hope they had left as they looked for new employment.
and it looks like there is every likelihood that it will happen again, because the party that couldn't win an election has decided to behave like a bunch of armed bank robbers, threatening to shoot the hostages unless their demands are met. they are usurping the will of the people to force the will of the minority on the majority.
this system of kidnapping and extortion has to end. and if it means defaulting, so be it. these people cannot be given in to anymore, or we will NEVER be free of this criminal governing by manufactured crisis.

They do this and they pretty much guarantee a loss in 2014 elections
