ndnfan is down about 20 units in baseball.he has promised to give those of us who are clients a refund.kcwolf is down 130 units in baseball.there is a big difference.ndnfan refuses to expose his clients to risking 20 plus units daily to make a comeback.he may be losing this year but he is not protecting his clients from going broke.for this i respect him.

and that is why I consider Pete one of the best cappers I have ever seen

You both make excellent points. When I talked to kcwolf's service they said they are making good on this baseball season as well. That doesn't make up for exposing 130 units in a single season, of course, but you have to remember that based on the way they work their unit values, 130 units for kc would be about 30+ units for ndnfan so they are not *that* far off from each other as far as exposure.

I know that past results must be taken into account when projecting future performance, but I stand by the statements I made in the previous post about all four of these services.

"I been on the town, washing the bullshit down"

A line from Gordon Lightfoot's song " THE WATCHMAN"S GONE"

Both the title and the line apply to most services !

First and foremost: I tried to start one years ago, I looked at it as an additional way to raise funds from the work I already was doing. I had been successful on a hobby basis but the jump from hobby to A: Semi-profesional or B: Sports Service status is bigger than I anticipated.

I always made sure I got the best line I could, I always set a line limit for the plays, I even made some positive results from middle shots that limit risk to almost nothing based on the possible reward involved. And I always played only and all of the plays I made.

The others would pick and chose or settle for a slightly lesser line or value.

Pete is the real deal and as honest as they come IMHO. He had a poor season.

Fletcher does things I never did as far as plays go. Maybe that is the key to his success, taking the road less traveled as the masses lose money but Eric gets it done in a positive way.

That said I am Eric's BAD LUCK charm, I sign up and he loses one or two weeks. :D

He knows what I am talking about ! Regardless he does win and I have won playing and paying for his stuff.

The rest of the guys I have no first hand knowledge of so will not comment.

Attitude and discipline are paramount to success, period, whether using your own picks or paying for them.

Nuff said.

I've noticed a lot of people stating that, I think it was KC wolf's, backing up his lack of results in MLB by offering a refund. IN many years of looking for services that are legit I have found some things to common amongst the legit ones, and since when I tried to start my own service I also held these qualities in high regard. 1. Is honesty and by being honest I mean having ones selections monitore by either Sportswatch in Vegas, or the Sports Monitor in Ok City (the only two legit monitoring services out there, or so I have been told) 2. Being VERY, VERY, concerned about customers money management. To me, this is what makes or breaks a good player, and to some extent a good handicapper. A good handicapper focuses on this and strongly urges there customers to be wise in playing there selections. They urege you to play only there plays and not because they want to hog all of your business either. If a player plays the service plays for what is recommended, but then goes out and plays there best friends opinions and maybe there own and lose on those plays, what good does it do to have a service? They will break even at best most of them time. Also a good service never tries to chase there money when times are not so good. If they have a bad week they don't suddenly come out with a 100 Star monday night lock of the week etc. ina weak attempt to get it all back. If Fletcher's service strongly highlights money management then his is worth his weight and definately one of the few out there that try to teach the most important facet of being a succesful player. 3. If the service has a bad streak, for weeks, months, or god forbid a whole year, then they back up there poor perormance with incentives and/or refunds to give the loyal customers some small level of consolation. I have been with Northcoast for 4 years, and theyhad been good to me for the first three. They didn't always hit everything in their late phones, and had some pretty bad weeks, but in general they made me some money. Last year was horrific for them, and Phil Steele even said it was the worst season he has had in his 15 or so years of pro capping. When he failed his Sept guarantee in late phones he gave me Oct late phones free. When he failed that I got Novembers for free after talking to them. They still fialed to produce good results and I was flat broke as far as wagering money goes. I called again, and I had to do some significant complaining but managed to get them to comp me 150.00 in credit so that I could get his final thee GOY's. He produces four of these every year and is 8-0 or better the last 2 yrs. I had about 400.00 in December and I decided to lose that and be done or try to win all the GOY's and douoble my balance each time. He gave me two free months without any success but I managed to break even for the year when he hit all 3 of his GOY selections, and breaking even included the money I had paid for his selections. Since KC Wolf has offered refunds then I find that VERY admirable in a business that is fraught with shady characters out to get theirs and to hell with the customer. Every capper will have bad streaks from time to time, but those that back up their performance are the ones I look for and the ones I tried to emulate. I know this was overly long but hope it helped.

Talyn,

Two things I would like to say concerning what you wrote.

1) I don't necessarily agree that every quality service would recommend playing their plays and only their plays. I know that some services are very strict in that regard and very much want their clients to play everything they release exactly as they release it, while others are more realistic and see their releases as a guide. In the latter case, clients may or may not bet each and every selection, but they augment their own handicapping with the service releases. Believe it or not, I find this way of doing things to be better than madating that clients play all releases exactly as they are released.

2) The comment that I made about kcwolf may have been a bit unclear. I was told they they are doing something similar to what you described with Northcoast in that they are giving free extended service memberships to those who paid for a term of service that ended up being unsuccessful (in this case, 2003 MLB). I am unsure if cash refunds were offered.

I play most of my own. But I like to check certain folk to see if I may have over looked something. I very seldom will change my play. But I know my week points in the NBA and NCCABB sO I look for help there. In FB I have also followed a free capper for years. That is now over a 10 year period averaged 56/57%. And with correct M/M up a nice amount. I know that for a fact because I play his plays. I cant begin to to tell you how many 100'S of pay service wish they could say that.

nick i do not understand your point comparing 130 plus units lost to 20 units lost.i understand that if you are a 100 dollar per unit player you should not play 500 on a 5 unit pick.this is what i did in the time i was with kcwolf.i did not lose very much money other than paying for the service and some juice.i pulled up in the nba when we were down 50 plus units but to their credit they got it back.i did not want to keep exposing 10-20 units daily.this yr kcwolf's record is 414-473 in baseball compared to ndnfan at 232-227.to me that is a big difference.last friday mark passed on playing while kcwolf went 5-11 on units won and lost.my beef with the folks at kcwolfs site was that they kept throwing down alot of units chasing to get even.once even they pulled up so there were no refunds.today ndnfan gave me his football service for free.i know he is disappointed with his 1st yr as a service.i can handle losing 20 units in a season.by the way i guess i keep chasing the rainbow.i joined thunders service and the past week was awesome.prior to that things were rather mediocre.i do agree with you that they should allow their record to be public.i do commend all the others for that. take care.

I've been burned by too many scamcapper over the years gone by, Most notably
Score (the worst I ever dealt with)
Mike Warren
Jim Fiest
Edmund Slick
Rocky

I have had some mild success from time to time with
Gary London(NSW) seems to have vanished
MarK Lawrence
Underdog (very Few but very good)
Bryan Leonard (NFL)

I would really be interested if there were accurate long time results published by an honest sports monitor. Mike McCusker out of Las Vegas did this years ago and you could take his published results to the banks.. Too many Scam monitors today...

Would love opinions on
A Play
California sports
Big AL
Blazer
Cobra
Lenny Stevens
Mike Neri
Private Players of Pittsburgh (Joe Gavazzi)

Who has the most complete sport monitor service for the best price. Tried and liked Jigsaw, Get BrianMac's free phone, Used to use Headquarter's, considering BettersWorld....

Thanks

excellent topic and some really good commentary posted here. I have never paid for a service, however have used the picks posted here on occasion. I have found certain folks in the forum who I try to tail and have faired well with that.......until this year. Been a very up and down year for me sitting around the even mark.

There is one site that I have asked for information about before in this very forum but no one has ever been able to provide me with any information....Guaranteed Sports Pick (combine the three words and add dot com). They have their stats posted and I have only been able to follow their free picks which hit about 50% the last few seasons (for football that is). If anyone could provide me some feedback I would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the stats they post on their homepage

NFL/College Handicapping Results (L7 YRS):

* +74.8% Winners on 20* NFL Releases
* +74% Winners on 20* Releases in College
* 60.4% (1217-799-17) on ALL Releases in College/Pro
* 6-1 (85%) In Last 7 NFL ESPN GOY Releases
* 7-0 (100%) in Last 7 MNF GOY Releases
* 34-16 (68%) in last 50 NFL Game of the Month/Year Releases
* 35-15 (70%) in last 50 College Game of the Month/Year Releases
* 40-11 (78%) 20* College Bowl/NFL Playoff Releases
* 7-0 (100%) NFL Game of the Year Releases
* 7-0 (100%) College Game of the Year Releases
* 6-1 (85%) NFL TOTAL of the Year Releases
* 5-2 (66%) College Total of the Year Releases
* 6-1 (90%) NFL Playoff Game of the Year Releases
* 5-1-1 Super Bowl Releases

These claims are bogus... They are an over hyped unmonitored marketing firm. Nobody maintains those percentages over 7 years. If they were that good they would be monitored

honestly I dont know...I know one guy who used them and did pretty well one season....but I moved away and haven't talked to him since. I 've asked several times about the site here and no one seems to reply. Never seen their picks posted here either. Was hoping someone could say for fact they were bullshit from experience, or that they were legit...untill then I'll just keep watching their free picks to see how they do. Their free pick today was Oregon -9

Nick,

Your name seems familiar. Did you ever post free picks at SportsLynx or Inetcappers? If so, thanks. You were very consistent and had good writeups. Always wondered what you were doing now.
