Somewhere in Corn Country
I played golf just now. Course is closing tomorrow. Sounds like only gas stations and clinics, cable company etc, will be open.

A bit chilly here today? that and two inches of snow that?s still melting this afternoon would have made golfing here today impossible.
I?ll know if they?ll open in a week or two as it?s supposed to warm to the lower 60s and be dry the next 10 days.

Thirteen confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been linked to a curling bonspiel attended by 50 to 60 doctors from across western Canada.

The bonspiel took place in Edmonton March 11-14, starting the same day COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic.

Saskatchewan's chief medical health officer Dr. Shaqib Shahab said 11 of those cases are "front-line health care staff and physicians" from Regina, Saskatoon, and Prince Albert. The other two are people connected to the University of Calgary's Cumming School of Medicine.

Additionally, three doctors from Manitoba are in self-isolation following their attendance at the event.

Dr. Shahab noted the event took place before there were any restrictions on gatherings with less than 250 people.

He said 22 people from Saskatchewan attended the event, meaning half of those people contracted the virus.

"This is a startling reminder of the risk in gatherings, even as healthcare workers," Dr. Shahab said during a teleconference Saturday afternoon. "While we take all the precautions at work, we are not immune to this virus in social settings."

Who has Coronavirus

Only read some responses...

I don?t know anyone who has the virus as I think we are up to 4 cases in my county and those 4 are all knows to each other from traveling to California..

This is worse than the H1N1, it spreads faster, has a higher death percentage. Is it being a little over blown? Maybe but no sense taking chances. I can only imagine how many would have it had they not stopped the large gatherings and so forth, most likely would have exponentially spread across the US, in the millions which would have crippled the health care system and providers even more..

Not blaming the media, they are just reporting it as we see Italy losing the battle and the CDC, WHO, many experts recommend quarantine or low social contact. It is what it is..

I rarely drink at home but am going to have to hit the liquor store soon

Thanks for what you do BP. Wife is a nurse, she's seen 1 case so far, been dealing with influenza mostly, but they're preparing.

Thanks to be honest I just do pediatric home care, my clients are on vents, if they get it, death is most likely. So I really have to seclude myself outside of work
