Thanks guys! Steffi "Nose" Graf was Germany's contribution to the "Nottie" category, she was successful tho. But I still don't get what Agassi sees in her...

A few days ago there was a report in the German yellow press that former tennis star (well at least in Germany) Michael Stich couldn't stand women's tennis of today. All about showing skin and loud moaning, just selling sex. Of course he denied ever saying that, which guy would?! It was all clearly about raising interest for Wimbledon, the traditional media of today...

Wimbledon R16

WTA
N. Petrova beat V. Azarenka +223 0.5 unit

Parlay
J.C. Ferrero beat G. Simon
C. Wozniacki beat S. Lisicki
V. Williams beat A. Ivanovic
+219 0.5 unit

Not much for me in R16. Hope Petrova has a shot and think the Karlovic matchup is close. Would even lean to Verdasco but didn't want to pull the trigger, considering my "great read" on the guys to date.

Good luck everybody!

I have taken a few days off from tennis and will jump back in strong on Wednesday with these:

JC Ferrero(+690) over Andy Murray for 100 wins 690. Murray has just not impressed me at all and those odds are way too high as Ferrero is a strong grass player.

PARLAY
Federer
Roddick
Djokovic
100 wins 129

Just don't see any of these favs losing. Maybe Roddick because guy is erratic at best and Hewitt is great grass guy.

GLORY PARLAY
Ferrero
Hewitt
20 wins 510

If Ferrero beats Murray, he will piss the whole british isles :mj07:

Seriously, Andy will go through.

I have a parlay Serena+ Venus to play the finals ( DUH...) for -150, and it's as solid as Kick's this year losing W tennis streak. :mj07:
( sorry kick)

I am not willing to bet 10-1 odds that Murray will beat JCF. ARE YOU?
It is too deep into the tourney to be laying 10-1 odds.
And the Brits have made this guy some sort of icon and "Dream" hope. The Brits are really searching for a star now that Beckham blows.

I sure ain't either . :mj07:
But Murray just beat Ferrero at Queens something like 2 and 4.
Ferrero is a dangerous player even on grass ( he took one set of Fed last year), so if you like to gamble, take Murray in 4 or 5 at good odds.

Andy is a damn good player right now, grass suits him fine, i can see him reaching the finals past Hewitt/Roddick and giving Fed all he can handle, if not beat him.
The better athlete wins on grass, and Andy is at his physical peak.

There's something off with Rodger physically, i suspect his back still bothers him, he has trouble creating his own pace.

For my part, i like sure things, and the williams sisters beating 2 professional chockers in the semis of the greatest tennis tournament is as close to a sure thing as it gets. (-150)

I took Venus to win the whole thing at +170, then i still have Fed to make the double French-Wimbledon for a lot of $$, hedged by Murray to win.

Well I put in 4 win plays total on Wimbledon(posted in last tennis thread) before Nadal dropped out.
Currently sitting on:
VENUS(+500) for 100 wins 500
Dementieva(+3800) for 50 wins 1900
Federer(+140) for 300 wins 420
Djokovic(+1600) for 100 wins 1600

I think it is clear who I am cheering for on both sides.Good news is that if fav Fed wins then I still finish up +170 here. And if Djokovic beats Fed in Semi's then I can hedge the Finals some if I choose.

All still live and really only obstacles are Serena and Murray.

Sorry Crow, but I am cheering for a Venus v Dementieva finals.:SIB

Everything I said in that thread has held true thus far:
http://www.madjacksports.com/forum/showthread.php?t=369533

"Don't think Nadal has a chance playing hurt like this. Only Andy Murray can ruin this."-- That was before Nadal dropped out and of the guys left I only fear Murray until JCF takes him out.

"Venus has 3 of last 4 titles here yet Serena is 2-1.OK?
Dementieva has made 3 of the last 4 major semi's including last years Wimbledon so I think is worth a 38-1 shot." -- Knew Venus and Dementieva would be Semi bound so those odds made good sense.

Crow--
Not sure when or where you got +170 on Venus because all my books had her either 4-1 or 5-1 before tourney.
Did Richard Williams open a sportsbook that I don't know about?:142smilie
