I’ll go down on the hill that says Reyna should have been in our 11

There is no question about that. But make no mistake, the game was lost because of mental errors on defense. The third goal… The way that was scored. Your really well -coached girls would not have left that man open at the far post. Wide open. Take a look at how many defenders were just standing around on more than a few plays. It looks to me like the players got tired and maybe even a little bit demoralized by that 2-0 halftime score. But yes, Reyna should’ve been in there. And as well as Turner played, he should’ve called someone over to defend the far post on the third goal.

All three goals were due to not tracking runners, that’s for sure. I think in 4 years the expectations for the first time should be really high. Quarterfinal at worst needs to be the goal for 2026.. i don’t Know what Ferreira starting did for us today? I agree About being tired. A lot of these teams were able to rotate players in their 3rd game or have a more relaxed 3rd game. Ours was nothing like that.

Agree. 2026 should be very different. And the starting 11 would have been stronger with Reyna. There are some excellent young guys, a top tier keeper. I will never understand why the refs let Wales beat up Pulisic as they did. It was flat out dirty play and poor reffing. Dutch played cleaner. Respect for their team. But that was such a winnable game the USA.

100% a winnable game which is why I was on them. Really thought they could pull this out. Field awareness is so important and there were many times we didn’t check our shoulders and see the field.

Let’s not overlook LVG Game plan either. Him having his side, sit back, allowing us to have possession when we’re not that type of team. He wasn’t the type of manager that’s too proud to do something like that he did what he thought would be best to win this game in this game only.

He’s been a great manager for decades I don’t think he gets the praise he deserves, and from everything I’ve read and heard he’s just a really, really really good guy

First 30 minutes of Argentina/Australia is what gives soccer a bad name. Passing in midfield with no pressure.xstop

In terms of America, yes i agree With you.. but as someone who is into the sport i love the feeling our process and the thinning and working to breakdown opponents. Soccer is different because one goal means so much so it’s hard to compare. Where as touchdowns in football aren’t as meaningful because you know more will come. To me the more points scored the less meaningful those points are . that’s not to say hi scoring matches and games. Can’t be fun but also recognize that low scoring and matches like this can be also.. but yes, you’re right for casual fan in america.. but like I’ve always said, I don’t care if someone likes to squirt or not just don’t bash it when you watch it once every four years.. I’d never go into a nascar thread And bash it even Though it’s not for me. I’d just move along.. those are the people that irritate me that wanna make these snide and backhanded comments like they are in North Korea forced to watch

Soccer is a sport where if your tactics are correct you have a chance to pull massive upsets which is great or at the very least keep it a Game for as long as possible.. which is why a leeds vs man city can be so enthralling . And etc

Have watched more soccer in this WC than in all of my life. I coached chess for many years and I can see similarities in the 2 games. Openings, defensive strategy, when to go on offense..
I have really enjoyed seeing the reaction of the fans as the watch their team.

One of best analogies I’ve ever heard. Chess and soccer. Perfect response . It’s not for everyone, patience is def a virtue
