Some Tuesday hi-lites:

* Barthel does win.

* Sakkari beats Davis in a good-sized upset.

* Kucova beats Soler-Espinosa in 3 sets. Match was concluded from Monday.

* Rogers barely wins, on home-soil.

* Begu hammers opponent. The rare Double-bagel, 6-0 6-0.

Thx, 1837. So far, so good.

Really not sure how many selections I'll have going fwd. I don't want to force plays. Want to make sure they're value:

* I've been monitoring Petkovic. Off the win, but she's now favored vs 8-seed. Not sure that's worth a bet.

Not recommending any plays, but a preview of the WED card:

* 1-seed Keys a -300 fav hometown-hero Rogers.

* Errani won 1st match comfortably. Now a very big -365 fav.

* Puig actually a dog vs young Kasatkina. At 1st glance, that surprises me.

YTD: (2-0) +165, on 172 risked

No action on the Errani bet, as she wound up playing a different opponent after Gavrilova was re-slotted to fill Konta absence.

I looked at Petkovic. Just don't feel like we're getting value at this price. I could see her making another deep run in this tournament, tho.

Wozniacki + VenusWilliams. Should advance, but can't see laying these prices.

* Rodionova does win as big dog.

* M-Sands + Barthel go out meekly.

* I watched the whole Begu/Kucova match. Kucova was right there the whole ways, matched Begu's ball-striking. Loses in 3rd-set tie-breaker. Win or lose, we definitely got value for $$ there.

A few other notes from the day:

* Petkovic did go out. She didn't look good on the last few pts. Pretty clear that she was playing thru a leg injury. Petkovic/Jankovic entry later withdrew from Doubles draw.

* I watched last set of Stollar's big upset over Vesnina. Vesnina practically started crying over a debated let-call, was distracted rest of match. 18-year old Stollar was very impressive. Great shot-making, #282 rank moves on.
