Let me say this before anyone jumps on me because Shogun is my fav fighter. I THINK MACHIDA WILL WIN.

BUT, those odds are way out of wack. I don't usually make big underdogs big plays but this one will get some big action. If my book opens it at +300 I will be putting at least 3 or 4units on Shogun.

Also, why the hell is this fight in Oct? Why isn't it in Aug or Sept at the latest?

This is a serious knee jerk reaction by oddsmakers as to the buzz of who can beat Machida talk.

I was expecting him to be around -300 and thought it would be that high just based on walking through Evans.
It appears they want early money on Shogun because he is very tempting to play at those odds even though he probably doesn't win.

These odds will come down by fight day to around -375 is my guess. Early Rua players best get in now.Machida guys might want to wait.

Wow, like I previously stated I would be all over Machida at -200, but I'm not that wealthy that I can pay -475. Shogun is the play here, the odds are a little off but almost none of us should be laying 5-1 in this economy. I doubt Shogun gets past two rounds vs Machida but maybe Machida will have an off night (not likely but nothings impossible in this sport).
