the issue isn`t whether such a video offends anyone's sensibilities... or whether cnn even bothered to authenticate it before broadcast, to meet any accepted standards of journalistic integrity....these are diversions to evade focus on the real issue.......the issue is, this video was made by the enemy to advance an enemy psy-war objective, namely to influence american domestic public opinion towards giving up the war effort.....

in ware's narrative accompanying the video, he even quotes the terrorists explicitly that their current focus is to ramp up a p.r. campaign to affect american public opinion.....if a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video like this is worth a thousand american casualties....

that`s my opinion...

but . . . it has no chance of achieving that goal as an internet video available only on islamic websites.... rarely seen by any ordinary american.....it had to have an american broadcast collaborator, in order for it to achieve the purpose for which the enemy created it. ......

we all know that information is a weapon in any war, but especially in a war of terror, which is almost entirely psychological......

As strongly as I do feel about nutjobs here in the US bombing abortion clinics or bashing gay people, the proportion of such incidents "favors" jihadis. It is quite isolated here.

Moreover, the support for such attacks is disimilar. Even rampant homophobes or abotion foes typically wouldn't celebrate at the brutal killing of a gay man as he is strapped to a fence in Wyoming, or a health clinic doctor bombed to pieces.

THOSE incidents in America, tend to galvanize opinions AGAINST such extreme factions, where in Muslim countries that is not the case.

its not the case b/c their is foriegn troops with guns on their soil.

3) I've got videos on my HDD of Iraqi's being killed. Just figured most other people have seen them aswell. (Because, despite you what seem to think, gw, I do actually travel in quite "normal" circles!!)
One guy is shooting away with his AK47 (or whatever!!) and gets blown to bits by a tank.
There's the night vision from an attack helicopter of straffing a truck and picking off individuals as they ran from the scene.
There's the Iraqi who is about to launch a shoulder mounted rocket who gets shot, first in the back, and then in the head.

Again, I repeat,don't judge the rest of the world's media by your American standards.
We (obviously, I guess!) see lots of stuff that you don't.

Besides, the 'news' has shown 100's and 100's of rockets/missles blowing up bunkers, houses, tanks, trucks..the works...just because it doesn't specifically show someone dying means it's not happening?
