Darrel Scott headed to Texas will be a fantastic pick up. Now if Greg Davis can remember what the I formation looks like....

I hadn't heard about Scott to Austin. Nice pick-up if he comes through. He was on the LSU radar briefly, but as will be the case with many of these upper echelon guys, the RB by commitee is tough to get past...

Wood sorry but I told ya...OSU does things that would make Switzer blush.

Oh, I know. The info I got a while back was that once Charlie Batch got involved with the recruitment he told TP to eliminate OSU due to the potential fallout from any illegal activities. It turns out TP's dad doesn't want to be cut off from his "benefactor" and he surely would be if he goes anywhere but CBus.

The good news is the NCAA has two PI's working the case in Jeanette, PA, and folks are talking.

Scott isnt a done deal yet. His uncle plays at Colorado and so there is family pressure. he gave Texas a silent commit last week but it is one of those "it aint over til its over."

At least even if he goes CU it wont be like that liar Perrilloux.

I think McGuffie will stay firm on his commitment to UM but did hear the same thing about his visit to Cal......

I dont blame him for taking advantage of visits, he committed to UM quite awhile ago on local tv, but we'll find out tom

I heard that this morning. He's telling UM folks it was just a "pleasure trip". Sounds fishy to me. We'll see tomorrow.

5 Star Prospects

Terrelle Pryor - QB - Jeannette, Pa.
As of 10:08 p.m. ET, Rivals.com recruiting analyst Mike Farrell confirmed with Terrelle Pryor that he will not sign on National Signing Day. He's down to Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon and Penn State and still has plans for an official visit to Penn State.

Julio Jones - WR - Foley, Ala.
Nation's No. 1 ranked receiver is expected to make his decision on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. ET between Alabama, Florida, Florida State and Oklahoma. Will announce on TV.

Darrell Scott - RB - Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure
The nation's No. 1 running back recruit has narrowed his choices to Texas and Colorado, and, according to sources, it appears that the Buffs have the inside track as of Tuesday morning. Will announce at 12:50 p.m. ET on Wednesday at the ESPN Zone in Anaheim.

Enrique Davis - RB - Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy
Nation's top prep school prospect. Visited Tennessee over the weekend. May not decide until after Signing Day. Auburn, Maryland, Ole Miss and Oregon also in the mix.

McGuffie is not signing with anyone today. He's upset because it appears UM picked up another RB, Michael Shaw of Ohio. Shaw was recruited to play slot WR or DB but McGuffie is being told otherwise by Cal.

Darell Scott just picked CU.

Julio Jones is on his way to Alabama (what a class slime ball saban brought in)

and Enrique Davis is going to Ole Miss

McGuffie having to announce again after a local tv studio appearance where he picked michigan, seems he maybe making a switcharoo....heard Texas A&M might be in the mix as well

Freshman recruit Dan Oneill OL from Mich still feels confident McGuffie is still blue, here is an article from his signing day
______________________________________
While the attention over the past year has been fun, O'Neill is surprised and disappointed by the amount of banter created on various Internet sites such as Rivals.com and Scout.com. Rivals reported Tuesday that Michigan recruit Sam McGuffie, a star running back from Texas, may waver on his verbal commitment to Michigan.

"That's just talk," O'Neill said. "Those people on Rivals are just trying to get more subscriptions. The other recruits and I would know if someone was going to commit. The two kids who did de-commit let us know before they did it so we wouldn't have to find out on Rivals.

"There were rumors about J.B. Fitzgerald going to Rutgers. He and I talked probably more than any other recruit, and he was talking about (Rutgers) before the new coaches were announced, but once they announced Coach Rod, he was set on Michigan.

"McGuffie loves it in Ann Arbor. He doesn't want to go anywhere else."

Actually Scott's mom picked CU. If 1/100th of what I have heard is true that saga may last awhile....funny thing about McGuffie is to me he would be a good fit with RR but wouldnt have been w Carr....he really is a Pac 10/Texas tech/RRtype guy....last I heard Cal is a real player and i dont think AM is

Guff's LOI is in at UM.

Pryor or no Pryor, a very nice job holding that class together by RR. Top 10 by all accounts in a coaching transition year is a nice haul.

Purdue coach Joe Tiller called Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez ?a guy in a wizard hat selling snake oil? because high school receiver Roy Roundtree signed with UM.

:mj07: :mj07:

Oh, you will learn Wood.

What a terrible guy, pursuing another school's recruits? :scared :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

From Scout.com's Bob Lichtenfels (an OSU guy)

Rich Rod Not Making Friends

In case you have missed the quote by Purdue head coach Joe Tiller on the loss of wide receiver Roy Roundtree to Michigan, here it is:
"If we had an early signing date, you wouldn't have another outfit with a guy in a wizard hat selling snake oil get a guy at the last minute, but that's what happened," Purdue coach JoeTiller said of Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez.

I get Tiller's point here, but it is what this game has become. Obviously, there was interest on Roundtree's part to want to go to Michigan or he wouldn't have made the switch. Did anyone see Rich Rodriguez complaining about schools trying to take his recruits? How about Texas A&M and California trying to get Sam McGuffie to change his mind? Everyone and every team does it, if a kid shows any interest at all he is fair game. One very telling quote I remember being told by a very prominent college coach. "We're gonna keep on that kid until that paper goes through the fax machine on signing day"

College coaching has become a what have you done for me lately world. It truly is dog eat dog. Unless you want to lose or get fired you do what you have to do. Or do on to others as they do unto you.

Regarding Pryor, don't be surprised if he ends up at Penn State. There are a lot of rumors flying around here as I am only about 25 minutes from his hometown and had to do some work over that way this week. They way it was made known to me from I think a credible source, is that Michigan is out now between PSU/OSU with his visit to PSU next weekend.

Bennett plans to transfer, won't play senior season at Ga. Tech

ATLANTA -- Quarterback Taylor Bennett won't be returning for his senior season at Georgia Tech.

Bennett, the Yellow Jackets' starter in 2007, plans to transfer though he hasn't told new coach Paul Johnson if he has picked a new school.

"I signed a release for him for whatever school he wants to transfer to," Johnson said Wednesday.

"I haven't seen him since the bowl game, so it would be pretty safe to say he won't be back."

Bennett's decision was not unexpected. He's a drop-back passer and Johnson is bringing an option offense better suited for a mobile quarterback.

Bennett completed 162 of 327 passes for 2,136 yards with seven touchdowns and nine interceptions in 2007. Josh Nesbitt, who played behind Bennett as a freshman, and Calvin Booker will enter spring drills bracketed together atop Tech's depth chart at quarterback.
