1/3 Unit :

Paul Casey @ 40 : 1. Advanced to final round.

Looks like we have a battle between two of our outright calls. Ogilvy is the favorite. First two posters tabbed Geoff. Perhaps I should hedge this a bit.

Better short game and a guy who has proven he can win on US soil.

Missed all 4 of my outrights...pissed me off so bad that I loaded up on Casey this afternoon against Fisher....an unchararacteristic match up play for me.....
I will be huge, huge on Ogilvy tomorrow..
Good luck!

Obviously Ogilvys play from today is fresh on everyone's mind. Casey had played great until that final match. I just think thru 36 holes the better short game will prevail. Ogilvy hasn't been in the desert much at all this week, and he also hasn't given away holes. He wins big events and that should be evident by his major and 2 World Championships already.
Im so tempted for double popping it, but I don't want to blow all of my earnings from this week..
My prediction is Geoff wins 4&3

Anyway, out for the night. :mj06:

RODDY WILLIAMS: Paul Casey, welcome to the interview room. Great playing out there today. Great win. You've beating a friend from Surrey, England. Now you got to play a friend from Scottsdale in the final.
PAUL CASEY: Yeah, that was -- I'm very happy with today. A long day. I think I got a little bit lucky this morning. Sean O'Hair had a little bit of food poisoning, I found out later in the round, last night.
And to be honest, he got a lot of bad breaks this morning. The ball's always stayed on the wrong side of the slope. So I feel fortunate about that one.

Just saw this.. that might explain it

You guys really don't fancy Casey +125 in the finals vs Ogil?

I heard that Casey won the equivalent of the Euro Match Play. You don't think he's live here?

Final play (1pt):

Total holes over 33.5 -125 @ William Hill [also available @ SkyBet and VCbet]
Ogilvy certainly played the better golf yesterday and as a former winner of this event deserves to be favourite. But Casey has also won a 'World Matchplay' title over a 36-hole final at Wentworth, has lived in Arizona for the last 12 years and has played far fewer holes so far this week than Ogilvy. Looking back at Ogilvy's matches shows that he won in extra holes in the first two rounds and was taken to the 17th hole in his next two rounds. He was tied with six holes to play in the semi-final and looked set for another marathon match, but for yesterday's late birdie/eagle blitz against Cink. Ogilvy has been doing just enough to beat his opponents and the same can be said for Casey yesterday. There may actually be some value @ +130 with WSEX for the Englishman, but the best odds appear to be for a fairly close final. Even looking beyond Casey and Ogilvy's performances this week, it is worth noting that seven of ten World Matchplay finals have finished after the 33rd hole, including two by a far more dominant Tiger Woods.

Consolation match:

Fisher -110 over Cink

Much bigger match today for young Fisher and Cink looked to be a bit drained towards the end of his semi vs Ogilvy - Cink may have had redemption on his mind after getting crushed in ly's final and not too sure how or why he would be up for this one today - Fisher on the other hand stands a lot to gain by winning today

GL to all - LA Burns

Chasing is never good for the heart rate or blood pressure. But it feels oh so good when it cashes.. Good Match play for me.. a couple bad bets and bad breaks in Mexico, but so is life.

Time to pop bottles
