Round 2 play (1pt):

Jim Furyk to beat Martin Kaymer -110 @ Stan James and Ladbrokes
Two players with Arizona connections - Furyk is a University of Arizona alumnus and Kaymer spends his winters in this State - but Furyk should have the experience and the game to prevail today. He recorded 5 birdies over 17 holes in his win over Anders Hansen yesterday while Kaymer had only three in his full round of 18 holes against Stuart Appleby. And for all the good form that Kaymer displayed in the Middle East last month and his winter practice sessions in Arizona, he has always struggled in the U.S.: he lost in the first round in his debut last year and in his six subsequent events in the U.S., he has a best finish of 53rd. Furyk may have started the season later than usual and not be in quite the form that he should be at this stage of the season, but he still ranks 1st in scrambling on Tour and if conditions continue to be dry, this week will be all about the short game.

Q. You made lots of birdies in two days. Did you think you would make as many as this on these difficult greens?
ERNIE ELS: Well last week I made 20 birdies and finished 3-under for the week. So I had a lot of mistakes in between.
But when you're making birdies you're doing something good. And I'm striking the ball quite nicely. I've been working with Butch and so forth, so I feel I'm really comfortable with my swing.
I just thought I needed to start making some putts. And as I said yesterday, I went back to my old style putter, the Callaway, and I've been trying to get comfortable with that.

Q. Do you think that old style putter is the reason that you're playing so well or eliminating mistakes?
ERNIE ELS: Yeah, I've also been looking at some old tapes, because I've been changing my technique and where my hands are and stuff. And I've gone back to a 35 inch putter, with the old shaft, and it's got a little bit of give in the shaft. And I had Callaway copy an old putter of the one I used to use. So I'm going back to the old thinks that I used to do.

Q. You look like you got that glint in your eye. Is something coming back?
ERNIE ELS: Yeah, I've been working my ass off a lot and I'm starting to feel a little bit better. I'm really swinging nicely. I got to stay within myself and not get ahead of myself. Just stay in the moment.

Was hoping it would be Els vs Vijay, but either way I like Els.. but I always like Els..

Another horrible come from ahead loss in 19 holes by my +190 dog play.

FU Ogilvy.

Making a value play on the outright winner at a tasty price. Also upset at not getting my chance to make money against Tiger as I thought he'd make it until tomorrow, but had no chance to win it all. Leaves it wide open and Im making a play.

Win Major Camilo Villegas
CVillgs +1200

I told myself, self, stay away from Els. You have some kind of sick fatal attraction with him. I'm sure Stan has the numbers but I lose constantly with this guy. I bought stock when he said he had a 2 year plan to overtake Tiger as #1. That being said, he is hitting the ball probably as good as anyone left. If he can make even half the putts, he wins easily tomorrow. Luke had 3 or 4 bogeys today, and not many birdies..

Ernie the big easy Els into the Elite 8 -120 (Round 3)

Good Luck

Round 3 play (2pt):

Jim Furyk to beat Ross Fisher -133 @ Unibet
Some excerpts from Fisher's interview yesterday: " I felt quite fortunate to come through yesterday against Robert [Allenby]", "Fortunately for me he [Pat Perez] was a little bit off today", "I've found it quite difficult to adjust. I've still misclubbed a few times trying to play that ball that is going an extra bit further. It is very tricky." He is certainly playing better than he had done previously this year, but Furyk will not provide him with such an off-day and he will also have to face some pretty vocal crowd support for the University of Arizona graduate, particularly now that they won't have Tiger to follow.

Villegas(-110) over Oglivy for 220.--- Oglivy has struggled in both rounds and is lucky to even be this far the way he has played. Villegas has been cruising thus far. If first 2 rounds are same today then this one will be over by the 15th.

Furyk(-150) over Fisher for 150.--- Furyk just the better more reliable guy here.

Good Luck
