Accenture Match Play for Friday, Feb 27

Accenture Match Play for Friday, Feb 27

Match Play for 18 holes for Third Round only :

Three Units :

Paul Casey over Peter Hanson @ - 180. Win -- 4&2.

One Unit :

Ross Fisher over Jim Furyk @ + 135. Win -- 4&3.

Geoff Ogilvy over Camilo Villegas @ + 110. Win -- 2&1.

Sean OHair over Ian Poulter @ + 110. Win -- 2&1.

Tim Clark over Rory McIlroy @ - 115. Lose -- 4&3.

Backing my outright with Casey, don't feel there will be any let down for Clark, and like 3 dogs that seem like they have a decent chance.

In the 1st, 2nd and 4th matchups that I didn't get a chance to play, my leans were Els-115, Cink+125, and Wilson+110. Can't play 'em all.

Wanted to add to my outright on Paul Casey but I didn't see any value @ 7:1, especially after getting 40:1 to start. Two others I looked at that could go the distance were Ogilvy (now @ 8:1) and Cink (now @ 18:1) but considering each have tough matchups today with Villegas and Mickelson respectively, I passed there too.

Rory +105 over Tim Clark (BetJam)
Also took Rory 50-1 to win (before the tourney started, he is 13-1 now)

Thought I was gonna sit the rest of the event out, but I just looked at the matchups and played them out in my head. Rory M, is a great talent no doubt. But who has he beaten in this event? How many US Tour wins does Mahan, Ooostehuizen, and Clark have? 1 ( I think). This is a new animal here.. Ogilvy lives in the desert.. hes a pure putter who has a great match play record.

Geoff Ogilvy -120 over Rory Mcllroy

Gonna be a fun match, no doubt. I also like Els.. but thats not a surprise. He hit some amazing Iron shots today.

Quarter-Final plays (1pt):

Paul Casey to beat Sean O'Hair -147 @ Unibet
O'Hair defeated a poor Ian Poulter yesterday by being only 2-under-par at the time. I realy can't see him competing with Casey on this course. I'd be very surprised if the Englishman was not in tomorrow's final.

Ross Fisher to beat Justin Leonard +100 @ Ladbrokes and WSEX
Leonard is another who has failed to impress me this week and even his short putting looked suspect yesterday. This is certainly the weakest quarter-final and with Fisher havig a knack of facing opponents in poor form, he should have another today and progress to an all-English semi-final.

anyone know the odds on this matchup? thanks in advance...

Just look like 3 post ahead bro.. -120 Ogilvy

Stan nice odds on Casey.. I agree about the easier draw, I would have been on it, but -165 was too steep.. GL :toast:

Semi-Final play (1pt):

Paul Casey to beat Ross Fisher -141 @ Pinnacle
Sticking with my prediction that Casey will be in the final tomorrow. He may have been fortunate that O'Hair had been suffering from food poisoning overnight and so never really needed to be at his best to progress to the next round, but he will be fresher from having the longer rest and that may be important by the end of the day.

Missed a big opportunity here. If only I hadn't been gun shy yesterday. I'd have the three favorites left. Still have my original outright on Casey BUT....

Mine had it at -150.

Saw it as low as 140 and as high as 160.

It would have been a no play for me at 160. Watching Ogilvy vs Rory on the back 9 was amazing. His putting stroke and the ability to get up and down was insane. Oh well, I'll sit back and watch.. :0corn

Two outrights.

Two outrights.

G OGILVY wins ACCENTURE pick @+20.00

1/3 Unit :

Paul Casey @ 40 : 1. Advanced to final round.

Looks like we have a battle between two of our outright calls. Ogilvy is the favorite. First two posters tabbed Geoff. Perhaps I should hedge this a bit.
