well, ryno, after that statement, i KNOW you are not jack.
gambling can be many things to many people. to me, it is therapy; costly, but therapy. most of my gambling is sitting like an idiot in front of a video game in the casino. (i can play a mean blackjack, but too many idiots on the tables irritate me and it is too slow for me). once i leave, i forget about it, unlike sports, where you always keep second guessing yourself as to why i did this or that.
my sports gambling is quite sporadic, mainly 'cause i don't have time to spend handicapping every day, and i certainly won't play for the hell of it, flipping coins. if i don't handicap, i don't play. i do it on sundays, with both baseball and the nfl.
kidding aside, if you avoid gambling, why are you coming to this site? you get heavy doses of it all over the forums. say, maybe you could do a piece on a separate forum on something like gambling anonymous. i detect some members here may be out of control and could use some guidance. i don't believe jack or the offshores would object to this, as it is no different from drinking too much, etc. it will finish you in no time if you don't get control of it.
i have seen too many people here in panama get ruined because of gambling. it seems to be worst among the very young and the very old. for sure, if you live off of gambling, you want your customers for a long time, not see them get burned in a couple of years and never see them again.
