So Cal
If you are really old you might remember "Classy" Freddie Blassie; Count Billy Varga; The Destroyer (became the "Intelligent, Sensational, Destroyer); Tricky Ricky Starr; Judo Gene LaBelle; etc.

MAJOR MARTY -- thanks for the 411. (had thought maybe he played for the Tribe).

who can forget those Dusty-isms, like "Funky like a monkey" or "if you weeeeeeeellll."

beertime -- would that be those WWF guys Hillbilly Jim, Cousin Luke and Uncle Elmer? Still got "Thank God I'm A Country Boy" in my head. Got very fond mermories of World/Georgia Championship Wrestling. Absolutely loved the atmosphere in that tiny studio in Atlanta. Freddie Miller, in his promo, would run down the card before it came to your town and always ended it with a "Be There!"

Gecko,

Thanks for finding the manager of the Kangaroo Brother's.Wild Red Berry was indeed wild & put on a great show.It was a long time ago but I don't remember The Brothers losing a match for a few years.thanks again it brought back memories.

Ferdville,

I guess I am really old because I remember Ricky Starr, but just barely.I think he was very light on his feet, almost like a dancer. But I may be wrong, since it was a long time ago.

It's getting late,I better have my hot milk & go to bed.

hmmmm......maybe their matches were fixed! ;)

My bad, thought it was those Hillbillies from the WWF. Before the Bushwhackers entered the WWF and became a couple of lovable goofs, they wrestled for like 20 years (starting in New Zealand) as a couple of real nasty bad guys. Back then they were known as the KIWI SHEEPHERDERS. Foreign objects, barbed wire, extremely bloody matches. Amazing what the WWF marketing machine did to sanitize their act. Hey, come to think of it, let's have a contest for "Best Forehead In Wrestling" between Dusty Rhodes and the Bushwhackers!:p

Hey wasn't "Classy Freddie Blassie" the subject of a movie with Andy Kaufman called My Breakfast with Blassie or something like that? Was satirizing some other movie....I don't know what it was called....Dinner at Elmos or some crap?
