archuleta sings imagine by lennon last performance of night. does really well and judges of course love him. golly gee.

michael sings first....simon hates it

rasta boy sings with guitar again and judges tell him he shouldn't of used guitar two weeks in a row.

chikeze was liked by the judges. america still won't like him though.

jason yager....judges hated him. for sure packing home this week.

poser robbie...still acting like a poser wanna be rocker.

gay dannie. judges liked him and he improved.

best of night was david hernandez. maybe in response to all the gay pictures of him working as a gay stripper at some bar in arizona. theres pictures of him being gay at vote for the worst at a club called burn. who knows or cares.

two elimination props(pinny):

will garret haley be eliminated YES -170 x 4

will Colton Berry be eliminated YES +125 x 2

... i would guess amy davis and joanne the plus size model get the boot without doing much research....

gl

Nice job Blue ... you also called the girls right so a total sweep which is impressive. Amy Davis and the Garrett kid were kinda obvious to me ... they were awful but the only other contestant male or female who I thought was just as bad was Luke Menard ... holy shit did he suck the big one. Not that I liked Colton but Menard was one of the worst I have ever heard get this far ... sadly, I think I would have rather heard that buttmunch Sanjaya sing than him. And I am still aggravated that the blonde kid Josiah did not make it because other than the 3 guys everyone seems to like Michael Johns, David David Archuletta, and Jason Castro ... no one else is nearly as good as Josiah Leming was ... plus he was very original. As for issues with not wanting another Sanjaya this year, Josiah was not the one to worry about ... Archuletta and this years buttmunch Noriega are much more likely Sanjaya types although I gotta say that both can sing much better. The rest of the guys are pathetic and have no chance.

The women overall have much more potential with Asia?h Epperson, Ramiele Malubay, and Syesha Mercado having the most talent but there are at least 4 or 5 other women who I enjoy hearing where as the guys are forward through bad. Other women who I think are at least half decent (if they pick the right song) are Alaina Whitaker, Kady Malloy, Alexandrea Lushington, Brooke White, and Carly Smithson. And I don't think Cook or the rocker nurse Amanda Overmyer are bad at all but I think the others have more potential. They should have 8 girls and 4 guys in the Final 12 if they really want the best 12 in the Final and I still say that 4th guy should be Josiah.

God I hate this show ... why do I watch it ... I mean I like the idea of the show and I love hearing music and potential talent but I hate everything else about it and how it's produced, edited, and so fawking over the top and drawn out.

Why was I not surprised that Noriega sang a song that originally was a female lead vocal. I am starting to think he has to be acting some....he cant possibly really be that flaming can he?

Archuletta and the judges drolling is so damn annoying I cant objectively judge him any longer. I wish he would go away....but he wont. he was good but the judges were so over the top it was just ridiculous. And of courser just as coincidence he was last and the judges dialogue was about 3 times longer than for anyone else.

Danny's on the set boyfriend was actually quite good.

The Aussie sucked this week but they kind of glossed it over.

I figure Yeager and Luke can hit the road.

As a side note isnt it pretty dishonest to say the show is "live" when it was filmed yesterday? And the are critical of Leif Garrett for his song choice but it turns out the producers forced him to sing that song? Friggin' joke.

I agree that Yeager and Menard can go. I think I just really hate Luke Menards voice so intensely that it doesn't matter if he can sing ... I can't stand hearing him. They in my opinion were by far the worst although I actually think Yeager has a decent voice ... he smiles like a homo and looks like he is performing in a gay high school musical when he sings. I totally agree on Archuletta ... he can sing but I find him and the judges ridiculously over the top praising annoying as hell. Overall though, I thought the guys were better this week as David Hernandez, Chikeze and David Cook were all pretty decent and much better than last week.

I completely agree with your take on last night. I thought David Cook was terrific - he really has something, that was a great performance, IMO. Hernandez showed some pizzazz (not homo-pizzazz, real pizzazz), and Chikeze was good.

I guess I differ a little bit in that I think Archuleta's performance was worth the adulation it got. I always get a little reserved when someone does such an amazing song like Imagine. I listened to it twice, just to really rate and think about what the kid was doing with the song. I liked his comment about picking not the first verse to sing, because the second one meant more to him - and he showed that. Since the judges are always saying take a risk, make the song your own, but don't ruin it - I think he nailed all of that.

In my opinion, Cook and Archuleta's performances were 2 of the top 10 for me since I've been watching the show.

But there is a clear division of 5 who have something, and 5 who don't moving forward. I can't believe how bad the Doobie Brothers song was mangled...:scared

Any tips on how the ladies do tonight?

Sun, the top 12 is always live. The 3 rounds where they elimnate two boys and two girls is taped two days prior to their air date. Not sure why, but my guess is if a contestant forgot a lyric or wardrobe malfunction or straight up started talking chit, they can delete it.

As for their song choices it is a theme, but they only get 50 or 60 songs to choose from that have been cleared by the artists. Supposedly Castro and a few others did great renditions of a Gnarls Barkley song "crazy" in the hollywood week, but the artists wouldn't let it on the air.

My guess is that their deal with i-tunes this year is really gonna limit what they can and cannot sing. Definitely no originals.

Tonight in order:

Carly Smithson- Crazy on you by Heart

Syesah- Me and Mrs. Jones by Billy Paul

Brooke- You're so vain by Carly Simon

Tiny Asian Gril- Don't leave me this way by Thelma Houston

Amanda Overmyer- Carry on My Wayward Son by Kansas

Alaina Whitaker- Hopelessly Devoted to You by Olivia Newton John

Alexandra Lushington- If you Leave me by Now- by chicago

Kady Mally- Magic Man by Heart

Asiah Epperson- All By Myself by Celine Dion....at least my chickee gets to go last.

MJ's Blog said in general the judges hated most of the songs and performances.

As for boy elminations, no lines up yet, but Danny might go, although I really think it will be Luke Menard and Jason Yeagar.

Also, I agree with Chadman. I'm not a huge fan of Archuleta, but each year there are a few memorable moments. That was his. I really liked it.

He is ridiculously overpriced though. I might sell my shares. Hes at a 35 sell right now and I bought for 20. There's no way he's a 40% favorite to win this thing with 19 other people left. This is similar to Chris Daughtry when he did Hemmorage by Fuel in the top 10 boys round and it got him close to this high and he didn't win. Probably best he didn't of course.

He cannot go much higher until there are 5 people left, but with the judges adulations he probably will get there.

Anyway,

If GayDanny survives, are you gonna look into selling to cut losses? I can't see him making it past the Top 12.

My wife and I watched Archuleta's performance three times. I know the kid might be annoying but I think it's just because he's a kid and he's truely that happy. He blew me away last night with his singing. I don't know if he would be the best to win this year but the kid has a talent that is pure and I look forward to hearing him sing again.

For those that didn't see Archuleta's performance.

And like Chadman, I thought he deserved all the nutt groping they gave him. If the kid put Imagine down on a disc I can say I would want to have it. Not many people can sing that big of a song and make it their own but I think he did.

No, I only have $240 invested in him so its no big deal. If he gets farther I'll consider making a little bit off of him.

I also think if he does make the top 12 he will be fine as he can do some non themed stuff. 60s and 70s ain't his thing.

the problem with David Archuleta is almost similar to the problem of Melinda last year. He's a super talented singer. The only problem is that he's not really that marketable. I mean what kind of music can he sing thats modern. He can't do any kind of fast hip hop stuff or anything. He's not bluesy enough like a maroon 5 type band. He's certainly not rock. I mean what 16 year old male kid is out there now selling records....none...

he's also kind of cutesy to look at for the girls, but when you buy an album you aren't buying the performance or look, just the music. That's why Taylor Hicks was the worst winner in Idol history. That's why David most likely won't win.

BDB, that's exactly what I told my wife. I think he could sing songs similar to Elliot Yamin though. But in the long run it is about finding a niche that he can sell to and I'm not sure that niche is big enough.

Saying that, I can see him winning with ease. I'm going to "imagine" that every little teenie bopper in the country is voting for him and every house wife like my wife that has never even thought of voting voted because he was so good.

BDB,

Have you added any people to your portfolio since the new prices came out lately? I have Asia and Nogs also but since the prices have dropped I was thinking about buying more of say, Ramiele or Syesha. I would think if a guy had Syesha and Asia one of them has to go far.

I bought 30 shares of Ramiele today at 9. She has pitch problems tonight and the judges are neutral on her, but she's a lock for top 12 so no worries there.

The judges HATE Syeshas choice of song tonight and weren't thrilled with her at all. She really has zero chance of winning this thing. I would sell personally if you can break even.

A'sia goes last and Randy and Paula love her. Simon thinks the song is too big for her voice though. She's in no danger though. Something about her voice reminds me of Mary J. Blige and there isn't a better female singer in the world than her though. Who knows?

A few comments on the women (based on the projected songs posted by BDB):

Carly Smithson- Crazy on you by Heart
> I think she is perfect for this song, and could stand out.

Syesah- Me and Mrs. Jones by Billy Paul
> Can't imagine I'll like this much.

Brooke- You're so vain by Carly Simon
> REALLY dislike this song, can't imagine it could be good.

Tiny Asian Gril- Don't leave me this way by Thelma Houston
> Seems like a good choice for her talent and style. Could cement as a top 4 talent.

Amanda Overmyer- Carry on My Wayward Son by Kansas
> Hmmm, interesting pairing of song and singer. Could be powerful, or boring.

Alaina Whitaker- Hopelessly Devoted to You by Olivia Newton John
> Can't be looked at as a strong song choice, can it. Although she is interestingly hot to me, and could charm on this. Guessing it will miss the mark and hurt her. Kind of rooting for her...but song choice will make it tough.

Alexandra Lushington- If you Leave me by Now- by chicago
>Intrigued by her picking this song. A pretty draggy ballad, but Peter Cetera sings like a girl, so maybe could work as an interesting thing. Doubt it.

Kady Malloy- Magic Man by Heart
>This is the most interesting one for me tonight. Definitely a make or break song, and night, for Kady. Rooting to see her hotness around for a long time, and think she could be really good. She might have better luck doing her Britney Spears imitation singing this, which would be really funny. If she tears into this and lets go, will help her alot. If not, she's probably on the short list.

Asiah Epperson- All By Myself by Celine Dion....at least my chickee gets to go last.
> I can't think that this is a good song choice for her. She does not have a Celine Dion voice, IMO. Unless she can work a smart smokey rendition of the thing somehow, and I know everyone is rooting for her. Thinking this is a miss.

There's my final pre-show blog entry...let's see how it goes...:0corn

Brooke is the best of the night by the judges comments and standards.

They don't like Kady Malloy at all. Big swing and miss. Her time is coming....
