The cowardly hit Bertuzzi put on Moore was the most malicous/disgusting thing I have ever seen. If you didn't see it, the wuss himself, Bertuzzi, hit Moore from behind with his gloved hand as hard as he could and knocked Moore unconscious. As Moore was falling unconsciously to the ice, Bertuzzi put his stick to the back of Moore's head, using all 250 pounds of his body weight, he drove Moore's head into the ice. As Moore lay there, still unconscious with a pool of blood around his head, Bertuzzi continued to punch him in the head! This act made the hit on brashears a few years that got the guy banned from hockey for life, look innocent. I think Bertuzzi should be banned from all sports for life. I think Moore should sue him for every penny that he is worth.

The equivalent to Bertuzzi's act in baseball would be this: A pitcher would have to knowingly throw a 100 mph pitch at a batter's head, knock him unconcious. Then, while the batter lay there in a pool of blood, the pitcher would have to go over to the batter and stomp on his head until somebody pulled him off. Their are people in prison who haven't done things even close to what Bertuzzi did.

The fact that the Vancouver fans cheered this cowardly hit tells us what morons they are. The fact that Marc Crawford allowed this to happen and showed no control over his team should lead to his firing. This is why the Avs fired him, he is a terrible coach and encourages his players to retaliate. If I was Bertuzzi I would never show my face anywhere especially in Denver. Its one thing to have a hockey player have a bounty on you but he has a whole nation's bounty on him. No one thought that what he did was ok and now little kids that saw that are gonna think thats ok to hit their friends like that. What a moron. Not to mention that he just ruined his teams chances for a run at the cup. Vancouver goes out in the first round.

I did not see the punches after he landed, but the actions that I saw before that were enough for me to think he should be banned from Hockey. He will definitely be getting sued for this one. I don't see how a game could go on after that. I would not be able to keep myself from retaliating for my teammate.

Anyone who says that this hit is okay is an absolute moron.

1. take off your panties, every team in the league would have sent somebody after him in that situation. Just unfortunate that he got knocked out, on the way down.

2. No they wont make the second round. BUT, its got nothing to do with the "indicent" last night.

Sam I encourage you to put yourself in Moore's shoe. He was assaulted. If Bertuzzi killed Moore, which he could have, and this happened in Texas. Bertuzzi would be looking at the death penalty. When you retaliate against someone, you throw off your gloves and fight them face to face like a man. The only person wearing panties is Bertuzzi.

Bertuzzi should be suspended for teh rest of the season and playoffs. But being banned is not warranted here. If he used the hockey stick its one thing, but it was a punch. Not even close to Mcsorley incident.

Just my opinion

McSorley - that was it. Ok maybe we can take a vote.

1. You can get hit in the head from behind by a hockey stick

2. Get punched from behind then have a 250 pound person ram your head into the unforgiving ice. Then as you lie there bleeding to death your assaulter continues to puch you.

I would choose #1, Bertuzzi took it two more steps further then McSorley did.

I'm not trying to belittle anyone in this forum. I respect all of you, I am just trying to bring the magnitude of this incident to light. This hit was beyond hockey, it was a criminal act. Perhaps, I am more outraged by it because I saw the game and the footage of the hit that they are not showing on ESPN and the news.

Im not saying it wasnt a sucker shot, its not as crazy as u say.
And as far as ramming his head in the ice, cmon, he was falling on top of him, and just pushed his head down, if you think he was trying to smash his head into the ice, stop watching hockey please. Everyone gets all pumped up about the rematch after moore hits naslund cause there could be fireworks, then when something actually happens they all throw their arms up in panic and call for the death penalty, like holy shit already. The same people that were pumped to watch the fireworks are now crying . Yes it was a sucker shot, but only because he got knocked out is what made it such a terrible thing. I seen hundreds of sucker shots all year, but cause the guy doesnt get knocked out, nobody even fukin knows about it. I seen Joe Thornton do it 3 times this year, he got supended one time, for one game. So now just cause the guy gets hurt, we should start crucifying people.

Is this why folks go to hockey games. Like going to Nascar hopeing for a reck? What if families start leaving the kids under 14 at home. I didn't see this post. So I did start one in the general forum. So I will shut up now.

He did more than punch him. He drove his head into the ice on the way down which obviously did the damage to him. Very similar to Hunter on Turgeon and Lemeuix on the Detroit player.

I agree with Sam on this one. Any hockey fan watching this one knew it was coming. The only difference with this one is that he happened to get knocked out when he was hit and then things got worse when he hit the ice. This sort of thing happens on a nightly basis in the NHL. Someone lays a dirty hit, teams put it in the back of their mind, and then the next matchup that team takes revenge somehow. This situation just ended up more graphic because the punch bertuzzi laid knocked him out. The elbow they were retaliating was just as brutal IMO.

Naslund could see the elbow coming. Bertuzzi was from behind and anyone who has played the game knows that is a whole different animal. You face the guy or you are a coward. Bertuzzi is a coward.

HOLY FUCCK, someone gets it. I dont know if you guys arent reading what im writing, but all im saying is YES it was a cheap shot, gutless if you will, but ENOUGH already with the hang the guy attitude. If Moore doesnt get knocked out, and its just a normal scurmish like it would have turned out to be, 95% of north america woudlnt know it happened. So in this once case someone gets hurt compared to the hundreds of times it happens during the year, we should hang em?

Sam i was just about to post what you just said. If he doesn't get knocked out, we wouldn't be having this conversation. It might catch a sportscenter highlight and then the sportscasters joke about revenge and shot the cheap shot, and that's it. That's why I think this is being blown out of proportion. No knockout, no big deal. That's a double standard. Yes it was a dirty play. But no human can possibly gauge the power of a punch and know if they will or will not knock someone out. Hell, had it been another player with a tougher jaw, that same punch probably wouldn't have knocked them out.

I agree 200% with both of them.

dick, this won't be similar to the Lemieux/Draper incident...if i remember correctly, Lemieux only got 2 games for turning Draper's face into a totally different person...Bert's gonna get at least 10...

and the last time i checked i think i would take a punch from behind then a hockey stick from behind...
