a quote from clay guida and his management

"Clay feels that by beating Pettis in such a dominating fashion, that we've done enough for a title (shot)," Fosco today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

-dominating fashion, really?

Lots of take downs my brother. Takedowns in this sport are like eight counts in boxing  Except the guy in boxing is on queer street. Oh and his dominating way he got away from all those subs :mj07:

Has Clay Guida ever dominated ANYONE in a fight? I guess if you are considering HUMPING, then yes.

Clay Guida would be the worst UFC champion ever. Why does the UFC and the general public find this guy exciting? He has crazy hair, runs and acts wild, but his actual fighting is boring as hell.

i kinda think Clay gets a raw deal a lot of times. Not all of his fights are boring. I'm not into the lay and pray guy but Clay does come to fight most times. A guy like Madsen or Conrad are the ones i have a hard time watching. Put Clay in there with Hendo and lets see what Clay has. Still not sure why Clays manager thinks he dominated Pettis. Very weak argument for a title shot.

Guida gets away with laying on his opponents more then any other fighter in the UFC. Refs never stand up the fights, I don't know why?

yeah, but he`s not fat....has crazy hair and acts like a wild man.....he`s cool.....that`s the difference between him and conrad or madsen....

Clay Guida is by far the most boring fighter in MMA currently.
He has been exciting at times but his strategy to win a title has changed to lay and pray to steal rounds and maybe hope for a mistake and a quick sub.

Dana throwing Guida on FOX first card coming off that boring ass fight vs Showtime would be a huge mistake.
While I agree Guida doesn't belong on a PPV, putting him on FOX is not the solution.

Guida is worthy of being on Fight Night cards only.

4 of Guida's last six fights were finishes or he got finished. The two that went the distance one was a great fight and the other, with Pettis, i thought was a solid entertaining fight. Sometimes u guys remember a fight and label the dam guy as if all his fights were like that. I can see if people were talking about Clay three or four years ago but how can u be boring when 4 out of ur last six fights have been finishes? Bucks knows a guy at 170 who hasn't finished a guy in years but still wins :mj07:

Nice, you count an injury as a finish. It's amazing how you can make "stats" look the way you want them too. You say last 4 of 6 fights, I can say he's only has 2 finish victories in the last 3 years...

My problem with Guida is that he's not active on the ground, and the refs allow him to be like that for long periods of time. The guy will throw a punch or to. Change position, throw a punch or two, change position...and a majority of the time the punches aren't even landing.

I'd rather watch GSP fight than Guida, yes...

Didn't Clay cause that injury? I didn't see him lay and pray Sanchez or Gomi. And to be honest i didn't see him lay and pray Pettis either. Those subs were coming a mile a minute. If anything he was defending them all. Maybe part of the reason guys hate Clay is because he beat their boy Pettis who puts on exciting fights. Maybe a guy like Pettis ought to learn some takedown defense. All this shit is about the Clay of three or four years ago. Every other fight is a good fight with this guy but he gets labeled as a lay and prayer cause like i said, shit that happen three or four years ago.

Not really. He was laying on him(like usual) and something happened where he hurt his jaw. I looked like it happened when he was trying to change positions without a punch even being thrown.

I've hated Guida for years now. He was boring then and he's boring now. Pettis certainly isn't my boy. I really can't say I have a fighter I really even follow in the LW division other than Melendez.

The only fights that are exciting are the ones that take it to him.

Clay has a quote at the end of that fight "Champions are made, they aren't born."(In reference to saying champions are made and trained) I'm not sure I agree with that. I'm a believer in some things you just can't teach, and being a champion is one.
