Bitcoin prices saw a significant price spike this morning, briefly shooting above $1,300 to hit a new all-time high.
Markets peaked at an average of $1,325.81, according to the CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index (BPI), before falling sharply back below that level to hit a daily low of $1,178.54. The price drop appears to have been seen most directly on digital currency exchange Bitfinex, reaching $1,120, BPI data shows.
At press time, the price is an average of $1,263.98, BPI data shows.
The price developments come as the US Securities and Exchange Commission nears a decision on a rule change that would clear the way for a proposed bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). That decision is expected today, though as of press time, the agency has yet to release any information regarding the ETF.

Bitcoin is crashing after the US Securities and Exchange Commission rejected the Winklevoss twins' exchange traded fund (ETF). The cryptocurrency plunged more than 16% in the moments after the decision was released, and is now down 14%, or $192, at $100 a coin.

Bitcoin seems to be holding steady around $1,200. I am also a buyer of Ethereum. Got it last year a little less than $10, it just went over $40. Might we worth throwing a few bones at. Coinbase sells Ethereum also.

I don't know whats going on with the fork. That's all we heard about all of March now nothing. I wish I understood it better. I have some with Coinbase who was going to stay with bitcoin core and some with Kraken who was going with bitcoin unlimited and some in personal wallet, I can't tell any difference in them since the fork:shrug::shrug:
But bitcoin $1,325 now and Ethereum $59.42
