Pitalua was scheduled to face Hurtado on Telemundo, but it seems as if that fight has fallen apart. Replacement for Friday is Wifredo Negron.

So my DirecTV DVR is showing the Showtime Super Six listed for 5pm next Saturday. With fights coming from England and Germany, I am not sure what is LIVE what is taped. I'm assuming the whole broadcast will be taped, with live feeds in England and Germany.

For those who haven't seen it yet, Showtime is running an AMAZING half hour documentary series (like 24/7, but unique) to countdown to the Super Six. Great behind the scenes stuff with the 5 promoters (Sauerland, Hennessy, Shaw, Dibella, Goosen) and Hershman from Showtime. Recommended Viewing.
Show is called Fight 360.

In the first episode, one source of controversy is that Taylor has to fight his first two fights in Germany (against Abraham) and Denmark (against Kessler). Andre Ward gets to fight all 3 fights in Oakland.

Doesn't seem fair to me at all. Kind of makes me want to see Ward get knocked the F out.

One more fight that caught my eye next week - on the undercard of the Abraham-Taylor fight in Germany. Licina vs. Hernandez. Not very often due to German promoters put two of their guys against one another. Hernandez and Licina have both been underachievers - maybe they are just trying to carve the fat - loser leaves town match.

Oakland is a mere 45 min drive for me. We don't get too many good fights in nrth calif so I'm glad the fight will be held there but I agree its bogus that he gets homefield advant in 3 fights. I like both Kessler and Ward so my allegiance will be on the guy I wager on...then again, isn't it always:142smilie

Now if somebody gets ktfo in their 1st or 2nd fight, is their promotor going to want to put him in with such a tough fight immediately following? Going to be very interesting to see how this whole tourney pans out.

I am BIG on Dirrell to beat Caveman Froch at +138 and I think it might be easy. SPEED KILLS!!!

Smaller on Dirrell ITD at +470.

I will bet on JT at +244. AA is sometimes just not active enough and it could kill him in this fight.
Guys like Simon, Oral, Gardner and Miranda have given AA more trouble than they should.
Of course, JT could be shot!!!

As Ghost pointed out, I really hope there are odds posted on Licina vs Hernandez as I believe Licina will be favoured.
Licina, in my opinion, is complete dogshit. Hernandez is chinny with some talent. If the odds are good, I will be all over Hernandez.

Good luck Boys!!!! :toast: :toast: :toast:

JERMAIN TAYLORS HAND WILL BE RAISED IN VICTORY THIS WEEKEND. TAKE IT TO THE BANK!

:box2: :box2: :box2:

I believe he's live, but to "take it to the bank" is a bit of a stretch. Speaking of stretch, if he doesn't get stretched, he may very well pull it off. I believe JT will be winning the fight at whatever pt the fight ends, whether it be early or the full distance. I think there may be a little value @ + 200...perhaps even JT by dec as I don't see him getting AA out of there. Good luck.

whats good fellas...

its more than value your getting at +200, its money in the bank. I know, I know i sound cocky, but I live and breathe boxing. i watch every fight and i read every boxing article worth a damn off the four or five major boxing websites. it's what i do ALL DAY. ive had three upset picks this year (mosley over margarito, cintron over angulo, and paulie over diaz) I know paulie lost on scorecards, but it was highway robbery, no way did he lose that fight. Also, for the record, I did not post these picks on this site. I usually send them to Dougie F. at The Ring and he puts them in his mailbag. he has record of my cintron and paulie picks, but i did not submit the mosley pick.

There's an old saying in boxing..."styles make fights" and Jermain has the style to beat AA. And he will empose his style and win this fight. Jermain get stretched? HA! ain't gonna happen. not this saturday night. Jermain will have that "I aint going nowhere mentality" do you know what that is? thats when a fighter comes in to the ring knowing that no matter what this kid in front of me hits me with I AINT GOING NOWHERE. I can see it in his eyes homie.....

Taylor-AA

Taylor-AA

By all indications JT is on the downhill side of this boxing thing. He is taking his last, and only shot at redemption. Taylor has an energy wasting herky-jerky style of boxing. This tires the lad out. Plus he gets gassed on a regular basis, and I see it happening again. He had his moment in the sun. Abraham has greater stamina and I think people underestimate his strenght. Poor Jermain. If he thinks he is losing he loses focus mentally and it's all over. Taylor can win if he is 110% on and jabs the poop out of AA. I won't bet either way, but good luck to all however you go.

I am on King Arthur, big.
I think JT starts good and is up on scorecards after 4, but after that AA starts landing. It is pretty draining landing the shots in AA high guard and JT has well known stamina issues.
I think AA stops him around 9rd.

Check it out...Jermain is taller, has the bigger reach, he's faster and younger, yet his career is over? No sir my friend. Not to mention much more experience than AA. this is the most overlooked aspect of this fight. the level of opposition...AA has fought NOBODY! No one! Jermain has been in there with the BEST. Hopkins twice, Winky, Pavlik. He may not have come out on top in all of those fights, but the experience he gained is priceless.

FRANK S
That was one of the points i was trying to make. jermain will be at +200% (haha) in this fight. he will not lose on saturday.

:director: Jermain is going to beat this boy like he stole something.:chairshot

I never sad JT career is over.
He has a lot of experience but AA has too. AA has 2 more fights as a pro and extensive amateur career. Also we saw how JT used his experience in last fight in getting KOed with 14 secs to go in a fight he was winning.
Regarding quality of opposition, you're right. JT danced with a bigger names but he lost more than he has won. You could argue that out of 9 fights he had since second half 2005 he won only 2 (Ouma and Lacy). His other official wins could, and some should, go other way.
Last thing, AA is much more hungrier at this point and is boxing at home.

sorry about that, i was confused between the two posts. Jermain had an extensive amature career as well and I don't believe two extra fights on AA's resume means anything when he's fighting nobody's. However i agree with your take on some fights he won should have or could have gone the other way. I thought Hopkins beat him twice (Im a big X fan).....AA is hungry? no problem, he will be eating a ton of leather saturday night :mj07:

Homefield advantage is the ONLY thing im concerned about.

Unfortunately, some of the experience Taylor has gained was being BRUTALLY KO'd by Pavlik and Froch. KO's like those have a permanent effect. Lets look at what JT has done. He does beat B-Hop 2x. Very nice. Then he fights Wright the fukin statue. Ho-hum. Then he really goes all out and fights 2 midgets; Ouma and Spinks. These guys are NOT real middleweights. He gets then goes on to get sent into never-never land by Pavlik. A gruesome KO. Does however look better versus Pavlik 2nd time only because Pavlik turned in a 1/2 assed performance. Then he beats that useless waste Lacy. Then Froch whacks him again.

i think taylor`s a guy that was never taught to fully utilize his god-given tools.....he usually lets the other fighter dictate the style and pace of his fights....bhop and winky`s cautious styles mimic taylor`s best style...and that`s how those fights were fought...
...
he gave the froch fight away at the end...should have gotten on his bike...

boxing i.q. is a big deal.....and taylor`s ain`t that great...imo...

the super 6 documentary is the shit

it finally matches HBO's production quality

remember when Showtime took a stab and went into the camps of Vasquez-Marquez 3

that was horrible for the most part

NFL FILMS = :00hour
