If you go by looks I would bet Soto-Karass ALL THE WAY
he looks like a much bigger bad ass in these photos

but as we all know, looks can be deceiving in boxing

remember that dweeby looking guy in Germany?
Gennady Golovkin

looks like a total nerd but is a BADASS fighter....

Maybe changed his mind when he got a look at Norton ....

Maybe changed his mind when he got a look at Norton ....

He was on The Contender. He is a STAR.
I remember him from the show. He was full of himself and loud mouth. I was rooting for somebody to shut him up.
I like how Ricky was polite about this mess, he is a good guy. But he shouldn't box no more. He already has JCCsr looks.

Maybe Laleye had second thoughts when he saw how big and tough Norton looked? My guess is that he took one look at this shaven-headed, built-like-an-outhouse guy and said to himself: "I want to get paid more for meeting HIM."

I really like McDermott at -165. I think McD is a good fighter who lost to an excellent one - Barker, in his last fight. McD proved his worth in tough win over Bendall, who had just beaten P. Smith. Butler not so much...he has begun to show his limitations, even at the domestic level. Plus he can't punch. McD is 31, and knows his career is all but over if he drops this one. Butler is just 22, and can still chalk it up to experience.

I have McD straight up, and a good size parlay with Norton...who I now see has a different opponent.
I agree with you 100% mate. Mcd has some skills. Butler is utter shite. He is a flail and grab type fighter.

McD has the skills to soundly outbox him and might just stop him.

I got McD at -150 so someone seems to have faith in Butler :scared

Good Luck :toast:

Interesting Ghost. Is there a way to get legit #'s on the PPV buys or is it some corporate secret? I bet fightwriter could find out, if you can't.

Sorry ....

Sorry ....

Sorry, I am never able to get hold of this type of information. I do think that there is about as much chance of this show having attracted 100,000 buys as there is of Zab Judah getting abducted by little green men from Venus. My pal Sumio said that a friend of his taped the show for him because Sumio was on assignment at the WBC convention. Sumio told me that his friend felt "ashamed" to have ordered this show.

Thanx for the reply FW. I never really considered fabrication regarding PPV #'s but Ghostmeister has got me thinking now. Problem is people believe the hype a lot of times and will buy pure garbage. I've been to MEGA/high profile fights at all the large venues in Vegas and many were total crap. I've seen better, more exciting action at the Orleans for $25, word.

On SKY today:

I am on Hatton with not much confidence. Got to take a shot at the odds and with the promotional advantage. Ndou should win, but there is NO WAY I lay a price like that on Lovermore.

I was gonna take a shot on Butler (he is the Hatton promotions fighter), but you guys have scared me away. I thought Butler did well enough against Martin Murray (who is a solid prospect).

Good luck. Still thinking tomorrow's big card over.

I'm on Melligan and got him at good numbers -120 and -145. Boxrec wager for me as I've never seen the guy but Rosales has been stopped 3 times and had a rough go over an undefeated but VERY ordinary fighter in his last one. Melligan appears to be on an upswing while Rosales may have peaked and slightly long in the tooth. Also have the over on Saritsu. I'm on the fence with pac and cotto but those cotto odds are getting pretty tempting. Pac has fought his last 3 with the good fortune of not getting hit AT ALL. It's a very different fight IF Cotto lands. Regardless, I'll have very little if any money on it. Unfortunately I'm going to miss it.

Good luck everybody and enjoy the big fight!
