Result:
Jackiewicz won UD12 Rodriguez

Sounds like another hometown decision. The fight was close, with the consensus being that Rodriguez, who scored a knockdown in the 6th, edged it by a round or two.

Homefield advantage, as we may have seen twice already, with Oleydong, is not to be underestimated. Erdei last weekend. It's not that a visitor can't win, but close rounds - and there are often many close rounds in top-level fights, are going to the home guy.

Agreed, but odds are set accordingly.
Have this fight been set on neutral turf I think it would have been like -110/-110 or Rodrigues as a small fav.

Yep, I think it was Romi who said the other day that you have to factor in the site when making a decision. Unlike some on the site, I don't think that the judges are crooked, but if a round is open to interpretation it is easier to tip the round in favour of the home guy. It doesn't always work this way, though, when fights go the cards ... Nehomar Cermeno got a very tight decision over Cristian Mijares in their first fight in Mexico this year, Michael Brodie lost what was considered a very unlucky decision at home to Willie Jorrin, and Damaen Kelly lost what the British media considered a diabolical decision to Simone Maludrottu in Belfast, Cristian Sanavia got a debatable decision over Markus Beyer in Germany and Francois Botha was given a somewhat dubious nod over Axel Schultz in Germany.... Sometimes, I feel, a judge can overcompensate and bend over backwards to show that he or she is fair and impartial and will not be swayed by things such as crowd noise and suchlike, which is when we get, rare though it may be, a local guy losing on a close and/or debatable decision in his own backyard against a visiting boxer.

Good point. Also, to continue with Graham's point, I think that any 'close' decision which goes to the home guy will be looked at suspiciously. Oleydong may well have won a very close fight, and from the looks of the scorecards, could have gone either way...same with Erdei...and Jack... But they didn't.

Just like in other sports, I think home advantage means alot, and not necessarily because of partial judging. Being in your comfort zone, familiar food, rest, etc. All of that also makes a difference.

I joined the bandwagon on the under for concep/leyva tonight. Not one I would have picked on my own. Let's hope the team wins one tonight! Not a bundle on it and I didn't get the great odds some did. Good luck!

Hey Romi what's up? Just got a stream connection...seems to be working okay right now. I really have a tough time with my lousy connection out in the bush. Maybe if it works better for you, you can give a little RBR...not too many rounds though, and definitely not the 7th.

No problemo my man Quanah! Melo/Rios is under way. Melo looks tailor made for the much taller rios. I don't expect this to go the dst. I'm going to go grab a pizza b4 the main event. There should be 1 more fight after this b4 concept/leyva.

THX FOR THE LINK!

Geez man, that last fight was just a prelim 8 rounder - Walter Tello. Now Nunez/Centeno...then Rios/Melo I assume...then Concepcion/Leyva. We'll see, could be a while. So far so good with the stream though.
