Fightnews.com has just received confirmation from Team Morales that since Jorge Barrios can?t come out of Argentina, the new opponent for Erik Morales on Saturday in Tijuana is Dominican Francisco Lorenzo (35-8, 16 KOs),
can we get a "wtf"?.....you just know that barrios is a well known sports hero in argentina.....
why can`t these elite athlete/hero`s get visa`s so they can do their fricking jobs?....
makes you wonder whether this is just an excuse in some cases...
and lorenzo?...he tries hard...is a difficult fight...but it assures fans an ugly, unsatisfying fight....
shee-f-cking-eesh....
GW , not sure your aware, Barrios killed a 20 ish year old pregnant woman , Speeding, likely blitzed out of his mind, so the judge is treating him like any other citizen and I agree 1000%. You don't wipe out a family and destroy peoples lives and get privileges.

he'll move just enough, rattle off power combos, hold when necessary
i think his chin is better than enzo's and aleexeez's combined
-140 looks like a bargain... but i've been wrong before :mj07:

You might be right my friend.Hey Paul, what's up brother. I think you're exactly right about Mayorga - that he has not had a real win in years, and books are setting the line too wide...but I'm not sure Walker is the guy. I think that even a diminished Mayorga should have too much for him. Walker has really seemed to fall off lately. He is slow and is getting beat easier and easier. +700 is juicy and could be worth a tickle, but my honest sense is that Mayorga will win this fight.
Just lookin' out, offering up the honest opinion. I'm certainly not gonna touch Mayorga at the price, and I would not be entirely shocked if you were right here.
:0008
You might be right my friend.
I just think this is another Jeff Lacy bet in the making, where the bookies seem to think the destroyer from 10 years ago is going to turn up and demolish the tomato can placed before him.
This particular tomato can has been the distance with David Lopez and Daniel Jacobs recently and lasted 8 rounds with Andy Lee in his last fight.
Mayorga has not had a great win since beating Forrest in 2003.
I am betting he shows up for this fight overweight and undertrained and is gassed within 2 rounds.
That is not a good combo for fighting a guy who is active and gone rounds with much bigger, quicker, more talented guys than this version of Mayorga but, what do I know
Thanks for looking out :0008 but I'll take my chances against the fat, out of shape, half retired Welterweight even against someone as shitty as Walker :toast:
Mayorga might be so gassed by round 3 that he falls down without actually being hit :mj07: or fouls out.
I seen the press conference the week before his MMA fight got canceled.I think you've got a good eye on this one, and you could well be right. Actually, you're starting to sell me a little bit. Walker going rounds with talented and bigger guys is a very good point. Hmm... You have to think too that Walker will sense an opportunity here and put forth good effort. Mayorga must have been in training for that MMA fight that fell through, but you are right.... he hasn't had a real boxing win in forever...He hasn't even fought in more than 2 years, and has only had four fights in the last six years! Hmm....
Heading over to 5dimes for a sec since Sportsbook doesn't have lines on the midweek British card. Going to parlay these two together to make it interesting, comes out to (-125).
Martin Lindsay over John Simpson (-360)
Everyone is saying John Simpson has faced far more competition compared to Lindsay, which is true, but for the most part Simpson has lost most of them. On the flipside, Lindsay has either knocked out that same competition or won convincingly on the cards. The law of common opponents I know is a bad measurement stick, but one cannot ignore it in this case. Lindsay has knocked out Derry Matthews and Paul Appleby, two men who have decisioned Simpson. Lindsay has good defense and is a fine counterpuncher. The fight is in Belfast, home to Lindsay, who also happens to be the Frank Maloney promoted fighter. Simpson himself said he cannot leave it up to the judges, after being on the losing end of a controversial SD in his last fight.
Shinny Bayaar over Paul Edwards (-245)
Going to go with the old horse here. Paul Edwards is completely untested w/ the exception of his fight against Andy Bell, who has tested positive for marijuana in the past. He has never gone beyond 6 rds in his 7 fight career, has a single KO, and hasn't fought anybody remotely close to owning a respectable record with the exception of Bell. His main claim thus far has been being an ABA champion. Bayaar on the otherhand has been tested hard since virtually the start of his career, challenging for a minor alphabet trinket in his second pro fight. He's tough as nails and should've won against the highly touted Ashley Sexton, which resulted in a controversial draw. My only concerns are that he's getting up there in age, and has fought as high as 122 in the past, but at the same time, Edwards himself has never fought at the flyweight limit himself. Both weighed in slightly under the limit, around 7 stone 13 and a few.
I've got the same play, and also took Lindsay straight up for a moderate amount. Good luck to us!!
