116-113

116-113

116-113 simpson rightfully takes it

Actually, I'm more than a bit surprised that Simpson won a UD by these margins!!

How often do you get 3 neutral, good judges judging a fight for the underdog in the champs hometown!!

I would have preferred a draw though! ;-)

Same here Z but Ive found that Irish judges are rather impartial. When Dunne fought Cordoba, the announcers had Dunne wide ahead but he was losing the fight and the judges had it correct. Dunne needed a dramatic ko and got it. I didnt watch this entire fight today but from the rds I saw, Simpson was cool and in control.

Hello Romi

I don't want to appear pedantic but the judges were all from England in the Lindsay-Simpson fight. ... I was a bit surprised at such clear scores, but Simpson wouldn't be denied. Simpson reminds me very much in his toughness and tenacity of a Scottish featherweight from the 1960s and 1970s called Evan Armstrong, from Ayrshire, another guy who would keep coming at his opponent all night. He had upset wins over fancied English fighters Howard Hayes and Jimmy Revie and in another upset Armstrong came from behind to knock out a highly regarded fellow-Scot named Vernon Sollas, who was a classy, sharpshooting boxer from Edinburgh. Armstrong, like Simpson, was super fit, hard as nails and just wore guys down. ... WeePaul might know of Evan Armstrong.

I would have been more than happy with a draw but the judges called it fair and square. Cant argue with that. On to the wkend!

I want Pascal to win, but I don't like the way he responded at that presser at all

Same way Tito and Pavlik responded before their bouts when Nard was pulling all this bullshit

That is what the old man does - he gets in your head, rattles you, throws you off your gameplan. Tito and Pavlik both fought very stupid, angry fights against a Hopkins that was smarter than them.

I REALLY hope Pascal doesn't go the same route. He needs to fight with passion, NOT anger. Calm, calculated aggression.

Hopkins is a dirty rotten scumbag.

Agreed ghost Kid but i was listening to Pascal on radio and his comments after those events and he sounds cool and not piss off... His trainer is pretty good and will make sure he is ready.;)

:0074 :0074 :0074 :0074 :0074

It would be better for boxing if Pascal wins
Hopkins has always been a dirty fighter, but as he has aged he has become a whiner and an even bigger jerk.

The guy thinks his shit don't stink.

Ouch on the Ireland fights today!! I knew Simpson was tough. He has been competitive with top guys in each of his losses. Sounds like he took it to another level against Lindsay though.

I don't about the interview afterward, but Pascal was certainly rattled at the press conference. The last staredown concerned me. Pascal couldn't look him in the eye, and Hopkins was just staring right through him. It actually reminded me of the way Holyfield was looking down on Tyson before their fights. Pascal is a real pro, and I doubt that this will account for much on fight night - but if the press conference was a scored round you'd have to give it to Hopkins.

Re. Simpson, this was the best he has ever looked, Quanah. I have never seen Simpson punch in combinations like this. His body punching was VERY good, almost in the manner of Juan Manuel Marquez (I did say "almost", smiling), really ripping in the shots downstairs from both sides. It didn't help Lindsay that his right eye started to swell and close quite early, and the eye was just about swollen shut in the later rounds, but I agree, you have to hand it to Simpson, he fought a tremendous fight.

Same Old Mayorga

Same Old Mayorga

?I?m going to knock out Mike Walker in two rounds,? Mayorga boasted. ?My mother could knock him out in two rounds.

?I can see fear in his eyes. Your face looks like a beautiful Cuban woman, like the hookers down on 8th Street hear in Miami.

?The beat down I?m going to give you will stay with you. You?re going to be famous because everybody will know you because I knocked you out. Tell your family to dress in black because I?m going to bury you on Friday. Don King found me a deadbeat.?

Mayorga then threw a full bottle of water that whipped by Walker, barely missing him, then shouted at him, ?Your momma is going to cry for you on Friday!?

Walker then turned on Mayorga, pointed at him defiantly and said, ?I don?t like anyone talking about my mama right now. She is sick. I?m going to kick your ass for sure now. I got a Christmas present for Mayorga he ain?t never gonna forget.?

Lets face it. The convicted felon is a master at promo and every bit of chaos he causes, he makes more money. It's all propaganda and the felon loves this shit. This is a fuking circus sideshow and nothing more. I have as much respect for WWF as I do a lot of these "contests". The promoters are all laughing their respective asses off as the public buys into this horseshit, and they clean up. However, I would'nt mind seeing the felon KTFO.
