For action tonight, I've also got the UNDER 6.5 in the Solis-Austin match @ even money. Just a small wager here. Not a lot of rounds to go, but I don't trust Austin's chin at all. He just fights so straight up. Solis should be able to expose that I think. Solis will want to look impressive with a title shot looming.

He's a fat bastard, no arguing that, but he does come with good skill and a fair amount of pop. I think he's got way too much for Austin.

Oh yes, in total agreement w/ you there Quanah, I don't have a shadow of a doubt in my mind he will beat Austin. I was just finding humor in what you said about him looking impressive, literally.

Luis Lazarte vs. Ulises Solis

Luis Lazarte vs. Ulises Solis

For those that remember Lazarte's title winning fight against Tamara, it was considered a major upset considering Tamara opted to take what he thought was to be the easier defense against Lazarte. The fight was close, but I saw it 115-113 Lazarte's way, with a few rounds that could've gone either way. I wouldn't go as far as calling it a robbery. What's got me curious about tomorrow's defense against Archie Solis, is that there is only one judge listed at boxrec. No doubt the Argentinian will enjoy a homecooking, but anyone else think it odd that there's only one judge?

Doesn't surprise me at all - they love that little bastard in Argentina and they make it nearly impossible for opponents to win there.

Lazarte has a ton of DQs on his record and with good reason.

The fight with Tamara was nothing more than a grappling match. That little bastard punched low, punched behind the head, tangled, grabbed, tripped, pushed, and wrestled his way to a world title. It was 100% Tamara's fault for allowing it all to go down and showing no urgency to keep the title.

The reality is this guy Lazarte did very little "boxing" to win the belt. I bet on Tamara that night - I knew I was fuked 3 minutes in.

Lazarte has almost no technique or skill, but a lot of passion and support. I think the line is set appropriately for this match. Solis is more skilled, but its a tough venue to win. Very tough. And both fighters are old by ring standards. Lots of bouts.

Mayorga-Walker

Mayorga-Walker

Arizona Charlie's had Walker +600 so I jumped. I think wildman Mayorga comes out swinging like a psycho and nothing else. As you guys say, if Walker can slip punches in the initial onslaught, he can survive. I could'nt pull the trigger -300 on Pascal as I never know what the convicted felon is up to. Hopkins is devious beyond description. GL to all.

I just watched the Lee-Walker fight, and from the footage Lee certainly appears to completely outbox Walker from a distance. The whole fight isn't there though, and is definitely filmed by one of Lee's entourage, as you can hear the pro-Lee comments. Could have been clipped in Lee's favor. I believe you though Roots... I would never expect Walker to beat Lee anyhow. Mayorga is a much different proposition though.

So I hear Lee may well get the HBO date against Sergio Martinez in March (Zbik was rejected by HBO as an opponent). What do you think Roots, do you give Lee a chance here? Big chance for him.
Lee will do well early against Martinez but Sergio will get him eventually and stop him late.

Think sergio vs Cintron, cautious at the start but the class will tell in the end.

Ricardo ?El Matador? Mayorga (29-7-1, 23 KO?s) unleashed furious shots soaked with malicious intent to score a 9th round TKO victory over Michael ?Midnight Stalker? Walker (19-6-2, 12 KO?s). Mayorga landed left hooks in the corner to start the ninth and force Walker to take a knee. He kept punching however and suffered a 2-point deduction from referee Tommy Kimmons. It wasn?t enough to deter ?El Matador? as he obviously had a knockout on his mind and saw it to fruition at 1:09 of the same round.

Mayo is a certified POS. The guy is classless and clueless. He spoke of Spink's dead mother b4 their fight. Betting heavy on Tito itd and watching him nearly decapitate Mayo was rather satifying. Mayo is too dumb to reap the rewards of his ring career. I think it goes without saying where he'll be a few yrs from now.

I kind of liked the under on Cloud/Zuniga but didn't pull the trigger...just not enough rds. Zuniga somehow went the distance. Sure makes Bute look awfully good.

Sorry guys

I was sure Mayorga would not have the gas to still be throwing punches in round 9.

Fuck :sadwave:
