Sorry guys

I was sure Mayorga would not have the gas to still be throwing punches in round 9.

Fuck :sadwave:

No need to be sorry bro. You were calling a 6 to 1 dog, and it was a smart play. Everyone knew what they were getting into. What Oddessa said was right. Walker should've stayed down when Mayorga punched him when on his knees.

I didn't see the fight. How was the action before the ko? Was Walker holding his own?

:toast:

I didn't see the Mayorga bout either

but no sweat wee
we are all adults with our money

I thought Walker would at least go the route
I was expecting a close tough decision either way

got it wrong this time

big bouts tomorrow
afternoon in germany - 2 great cruiser bouts

and then to canada tomorrow evening
were I will be laying it down on the hometown boy

I hope JP knocks the Old Dirty Bernard out of boxing for good

Pascal has the skills to pay the bills - the talent is not in question

It's all about the mental game here - HUGE FACTOR

I see BHop as a 90 second a round fighter these days...as long as the Canadian can keep his head, his pace should be too much for grandpa

I like Pascal by wide UD or DQ (when Hopkins runs out of tricks and gets pissed off)

Mayorga fought quite well, jabbing, firing off combinations, taunting Walker... Walker landed some good hooks and one excellent right hand, he was busy with both hands on the inside, but he couldn't hurt Mayorga, who at one point stood with his back to the ropes, hands down, looking out at the crowd and shaking his head in the "Nothing" gesture as Walker threw punches at him ... Walker was very game and showed a good chin but Mayorga landed some big, heavy-handed shots to body and head... Walker was doing well in several rounds but then Mayorga would open up and batter and wobble him in the last half-minute of the round. It seemed to me that Mayorga was well ahead.

Don't call him fat

Don't call him fat

Odlanier Solis: ?I wanted to make Austin suffer for the things he said at the press conferences leading up to the fight. I didn?t like it when he said that when he was done with me, they were going to send me back to Cuba. Now I sent him back to Cleveland where all they have are cows?..I wasn?t tired at all. It was my strategy to fight the way I did tonight. What?s the worst thing that could have happened? I could have knocked him out or made him look ridiculous, which I did.?

At the post-fight press conference: ?I don?t think I?m fat. What I would like to do is slap around some of the newspaper writers that say I?m fat.?

Awesome weigh in. Bernard is fuked. I really loved seeing Richard Schaefer squirm to. Telling Pascal to back up.

Weekend Plays

Weekend Plays

All right, last BIG night of the year!!

Denis Lebedev (+110) - BIG
I'm high on Lebedev, and I think he takes advantage of his big shot. Huck has looked very good lately, but against lesser guys than Lebedev. I see a very good action packed fight, with Lebedev wearing him down late.

Ali Ismailov (+750) - medium
Big upset spot here! Ali is a very good fighter. I thought he beat Ramirez in Argentina. Even in his fight with Leb (youtube), it was very competitive until Ali got cut. Yoan has been fighting much better lately, but that chin is extra suspect. Ali not a huge puncher though, and he won't outbox Yoan, so finding a method to victory could be tough. Still, at huge odds I'm taking Ali. It's 12, and I think Ali can tire and KO the Cuban.

Solis-Lazarte OVER 9.5 (+120) - medium well
Got nice early odds here, and the line has moved a lot. Both guys prone to distance fights. This one looks very good on paper, but I am concerned about cuts, or even potential DQ scenario with Lazarte in Argentina.

Ulises Solis (-150) - small
Solis, again on paper, looks like the superior fighter. Location and Lazarte's tendency to make it very ugly keeps this wager in check for me.

Bernard Hopkins (+220) - small
Someone has to go on Hopkins! I'm a little surprised by all the Hopkins hatin' here. Sounds like I'll take some heat for this, but I like him, always have. He may be fading just a bit, but he's just such an old school technician. So difficult to beat and near impossible to look good against. He's also a master at exposing his opponents weakness. I agree with most everything you guys said, and Hopkins finding a method to victory could be tough. He won't KO Pascal, and I'm not sure he's active enough to win a decision. Still, in terms of wagering against him, the old pro scares the shit out of me. He's just defied the odds (Trinidad, Tarver, Pavlik) too many times to count out. Pascal brings a lot of intensity, but I still see something raw about him. If anyone can expose that it's Hopkins. I also think Pascal may have rushed this, and could possibly be a bit tired in finishing a very active stretch. Pascal by dec. is probably the likely scenario, but it will not be easy at all. I'll take a small shot on Hopkins and enjoy this one.

Good luck guys!!!!

I agree with you on Lebedev and Ismailov!

And I'm actually beginning to question my Pascal wager. Well, he shoudl def. win, but, yes, he can be a bit raw and in terms of ring generalship and defence Hopkins has the upper hand! May try a draw here!

The Lazarte fight should go over, but you can never be sure when this kid is involved!

I agree with most of Quanah's post. The exception is Hop. I think that youth, speed, and movement will prevail tonight. I have a bit of dough on Pascal.

Also have a sizeable wager on Lebed. I believe he is a certified bad ass and that he has too many skills for the very solid but limited Huck. I think Lebed takes it in about 9.

Small wager on Ali +600. I think he'll need a ko in Germany but it's possible. Hern does indeed have a week beard.

That's it for today...GOOD LUCK GENTS!

BTW, can you guys believe that somebody actually robbed The Bellagio of 1.5 mil in chips . Where the hell is that dude going to cash in those chips :mj07:
