Vivian Harris releases statement:
http://www.fightnews.com/?p=38025#more-38025

Sounds very unfair, but no complaints from me
:mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

I would like to see the tape
I know Oddessa said it was really really bad

I'd like to see it too. I venture to say that Mathysse was getting to him and still would have stopped him....but like you, I certainly won't argue the early stoppage :mj07:

Here you go Ghost...indeed a BAD stoppage but I'll stand by what I said. I think Mathysse would have still gotten him out of there.

Episode 3 of Fight Camp 360, on the Super Six Tournament.
http://www.badlefthook.com/2010/2/21/1320901/episode-3-of-fight-camp-360-on-the#comments

You guys got to watch this. It blows the HBO 24/7 shows away. I always find the HBO stuff so contrived and scripted.

Check this out. 30 minutes. You will love it. Great behind the scenes stuff on the Super Six. Taylor's family after the KO. Froch (who is a pretty funny guy actually) with his hot girl after the Dirrell fight. Abraham in his Ferrari. Great great job by Showtime on this. First class production.

No doubt, he had no love for red necks :142smilie but it went a bit beyond that. I'm not going to down play his accomplishments...he did more than I'll accomplish in 50 lifetimes. However he got a pass for some things that he simply crossed the line on. His betrayal of Joe Frasier went well beyond promoting a fight. Frasier was an all round genuine good guy and Ali berated him relentlessly for being an "Uncle Tom". To this day Frasier still has a difficult time reconciling Ali's treatment of him.

Yeah, that was cruel and he called him a gorilla, too. Just nasty stuff. He'd do anything to get an edge.

Funny trivia - Ali's mother was half white because of because both paternal and maternal grandfather's where white. That makes Muhammad 1/4 (25%) white - also known as a griffe.

Bully got his ass kicked. Always good to see that.
On a side note, I really like this cool chick with headphones sitting next to bully. She looks like Diane Lane in her Streets Of Fire days. You can't beat that look.

Do you not like him?. It's almost sacrilige to talk bad about Ali in boxing circles but I have to say he's not @ top of my list of genuine people. He's was my childhood idol for years but over time as an adult I grew to dislike him more and more. Not too long ago he made the remark that "my daughter married a white guy, but it's ok because he's a muslim"...seriously wtf? He still hasn't forgiven whitey for numerous things, but he is loved and respected the world and boxing community over.

nope...i don`t have one iota of respect for the guy as a human being...didn`t like the personal insults toward frazier(toward every opponent)...toward white people in general...toward the country...

and i hated...absolutely hated the favoritism he was shown toward the end of his boxing career...

rope-a-dope....excessive holding...running for 9/10th`s of a round, then flurrying for 10 seconds at the end and being given every round..

all this and much more..he made being a disrespectful p.o.s. "part of the game"...

all the guys that hate mayweather with such passion just have to take a look back at ali`s antics to see where the trend started..

not my cup of tea...

I basically agree with everything you said. He was once my idol but as I grew up I completely lost my respect and admiration for him.

Since we are on Ali

Since we are on Ali

I thought he got a lot of gifts. Thought he lost all 3 Norton fights. The whole cut glove thing when Henry Copper clocked him - he was out. Doug Jones has a gripe back in the day. Jimmy Young and the Acorn Ernie Shavers seemed to do enough.

Other stuff: I don't have an issue with his stance on the war. I think he was right! I thought he was funny and clever and did an excellent job with the media. They were like bread and butter.

It's true he is the godfather of trash talk and angry rhetoric that spun off from that. But Ali did it with humor and a certain charm that made him likable.

Everyone else has failed miserably in their attempts at copying "the greatest." And unfortunately, sports is worse off for it.

He hung around way too long. He should have left after manila in 75. He ruined himself.

Further, just before his exile in around 1967, in that period, he was in his prime and was becoming something special. His man strength was just showing itself and his skills were primed and he still had his reflexes and athleticism. He would have been scary form 67-70 if he never left.

Lastly, he was a money fighter. He came up big when people didn't think he could - Liston, Foreman and ultimately Frazier. He fought everyone in a career span of 20 years, never ducked anyone and always wanted the biggest challenge. All in all, he was pretty damn special and a mythical, huge figure for the ages, particularity the 60's.

it`s all up to the media...if they like the "cause"...if it fits their agenda, they make you a legend....

if you don`t fit their liberal profile, they bury you...

they loved ali...the rest is history...

that`s enough ali for me,i`m getting nauseous...

The guy is soft as puppy shit but what a character.

If you look further into his you tube stuff, I guess he got tasered at an Oakland A's game. Cops didn't want to deal with the crazy old fuck.
