and Devon Alexander fighting Urango
but other than that....

it seems like it`s arum/goldenboy and the germans...

i think the emergence/dominance of goldenboy has been bad for boxing...

when was the last mega-card stacked with top fights?...the changing of the guard/passage of time has been cruel to boxing...

Stacked cards appear to be a thing of the past. I know there have been a few but nothing really stands out. HBO and Showtime occasionally do decent co features but PPV preliminaries have been absolute sheeeeeet for a long time. As you said earlier, Don King (despite being a degenerate crook) put on some pretty damn good stacked PPV shows over the yrs.

Don't know if anybody recalls this card back in Nov 1979 :

Marvin Johnson v Victor Galindez lighthvy title

Marvin Hagler v Vit Antoufermo middlewt title

Ray Leonard v Wilfredo Benitez welter title

ALL on FREE tv on ABC. I was 15 and remember the card well.

those other two fights were monsters,also...

ahhh me...those were the days...

One play so far...

One play so far...

Adamek vs Estrada Over 11.5-125 Medium
Both guys have shown great chins in the past. Estrada is not a puncher and I am not convinced that Ademek can bang enough to KO heavyweight contenders or above. This fight should go the distance unless a freck injury or cut spoils it, and that is a risk I'm willing to take.

More after the lines come out

I was thinking that Adamekd might get at stoppage. It looks like he carries the weight well and he really applies a lot of pressure. Estrada mgiht have a good chin, but he's not terribly hard to find.

Now, I'm curious to see his weight, after alls his talk about his great training camp!

No big surprise here, but it looks like Khan vs. Maidana is off. I knew Khan's people would backtrack out of this one. Looks like Maidana is now fighting Victor Cayo, a pretty good fighter in his own right, at the end of March.

I agree... Just to see where the money would fall. There's a good chance that it will be graded as no action, being that Maidana already has a new opponent. I agreed with your thoughts on this fight. This match-up never looked real to me. I don't know the circumstances yet, but I am sure that Khan's people backed him out.

Ahh...there it is. Just as I suspected. A good quick find on the article Weasel.

I agree.
I bet the OVER 9.5 on Povetkin-Estrada, and I was praying the last 2 minutes of the fight. Povetkin beat the crap out of him the last round.

I think Adamek is more aggressive than Povetkin. More pressure as you said.

A lot depends on Estrada and the shape he is in this time.

A lot of people are giving Estrada a shot in this one. I'm not.

True!

and that was a 10 round fight.

I really believe Adamek is more dangerous than Povetkin!

As I said Estrada has a good chin, but he's pretty sloppy...

Estrada:
"This was my best training camp ever ? by far. More than 8 weeks of very hard work and for the first time ever for me ? no injuries, no health problems. I?m in my prime, I have to prove this now and help Adamek to fight Steve Cunningham again ? as a cruiserweight"

pretty well known, Freddie Roach never wanted that fight , Maidana far too tough and dangerous for Khan at this point in his career, maybe always. But Maidana-Cayo looks great to me and up in San Francisco of all places, nice to see. Looks like Khan gets Marquez- perfect for Khan. Marquez doesn't belong anywhere above 135 IMO, aging, etc.
