I think the guy that beats Valero is gonna have to be a master boxer and a calm, disciplined dude
I just haven't seen this from Demarco

I agree.
DeMarco who I like is too inexperienced on a top level to exploit the flaws in Valeros game while protecting himself from bombs for 12 rounds.
In a KidDiamond fight I had a feeling that DeMarco is to fragile before KidDiamond quit on himself.
Valero will win and it wont be pretty.

Weekend Plays so far...

Weekend Plays so far...

Quite alot going on this week as well:

Parlay - Solis*Branco*Valero I went straight up, and different combinations of parlays with these three guys. All 3 pays even money.

Solis - this fight is made for him to win. He has paid his dues. Likar Ramos does not deserve to hold a 'world' belt at all. Solis makes good here.

Branco - 43 and moving up to cruiser, but he is fighting a real stiff in Hubert. I think Branco, a straight and sharp puncher, will starch him in 3 or 4 rounds.

Valero - too strong, too tenacious. I have not been that impressed with DeMarco, who does look a little fragile to me, a bad trait against Valero. DeMarco was on his way to losing against A.Adjaho before the African had a meltdown.

Johnson-Mack OVER 11.5 (-110) - medium
Yusaf Mack (+200) medium/small
This fight is about timing. I think Johnson at 40+ is slowing down just a little bit. Of course he was fighting Dawson when he looked slow... Mack is at the very top of his game right now, rededicated and realizing his potential. He is far quicker, and now highly trained. I thought his performance against C.Henry was excellent. I think his newfound stamina will allow Mack to hang in there for a grueling points win. I like the OVER play more than the Mack play here. 11.5 a long way to go, but I think it is highly likely.

Ed Paredes (+135) - medium - Ed Paredes will win this fight. Whether or not he gets the decision is another matter. He scored a knockdown, and won the first fight clearly...but had to settle for a dubious draw. Hernandez is a local S.Florida pretty boy, a good amateur, whose father is a very affluent businessman in the region - which probably accounts for something. I think Hernandez has reached his level though. Bigger and stronger Paredes gets what he should've gotten the first time...a clear win.

I've got some more going on, but these are main plays for now... Also small wagers on Branco-Hubert UNDER and S.Okada from Japan, who I like in an upset play for reasons cited by the Fightwriter. More to come if all goes well here.

Take it easy fellas! :box2:

True , this guy seems like a real stiff . Surprised bookies have it u6? +170 . Zero offense in 2 and half rounds but like 2-3 punches thrown , even at 60 Branco would probably get this guy out of there . kurby

Good video post Brainiac! I hadn't seen that footage before. Man, did he get face-planted there. My bet is that he's still groggy after that.

Maybe just a bit more on the under... ;)

I love that parlay Quanah
I think that's money

Solis cost me a ton when he lost the rematch to Cruz last year....he got a bit of unfair treatment in Cruz's backyard....hopefully this is Mexico paying him back....if Solis doesn't win the title this time, he will never win it....he has a great chance here.....Solis still did better against Pac-Man than most do....he's a solid fighter....this Colombian looks young and strong, but he has fought absolutely NOBODY

Go get'em Solis!! :toast:

I just read Graham's take on the fight. Good piece. He seems to like Solis as well.

Never to early to start fishing around for a stream...

My picks for the week

My picks for the week

Adamek vs Estrada Over 11.5-125 MediumBoth guys have shown great chins in the past. Estrada is not a puncher and I am not convinced that Ademek can bang enough to KO heavyweight contenders or above. This fight should go the distance unless a freck injury or cut spoils it, and that is a risk I'm willing to take.

Rios vs Teron Under 9.5-110 Large
Brandon Rios is a puncher with fast hands and good footwork. I understand he has not faced good opposition, but Rios was the 2004 US Amateur Featherweight champion and a US Olympic alternate, and from watching him fight he looks legit and seasoned. Rios has bad intentions and when he hurts his opponents, he has that killer instinct to get the knockout. Teron has the height, but I think it will be a disadvantage becasue he likes to fall in and fight inside, and that is when Rios will kill him with body shots and uppercuts. And when that happens, Teron will get Koed or his corner will throw in the towel sometime in rounds 7 to 9 rounds.

Valero vs DeMarco Under 8.5-105 Medium
Man vs. Boy. These are Valero's prime years. He is a fighter in the truest sense with unbelievable stamina. He fights with a passion and is relentless until he breaks his opponents will to continue fighting or his opponents get knocked out. The knockout streak is there for a reason. DeMarco fought an impressive fight against Kid Diamond and is defintiely improving as a fighter. DeMarco and his trainer will probably have an excellenct fight plan, but as the saying goes, "Everyone has a plan, until they get hit." DeMarco isn't ready for this fight; nothing has prepared him to face Valero. Quite frankly, he shouldn't of taken the fight not now or ever. Valero TKO rounds 6-8.

Good Luck Guys! :box2: :box2: :box2:

Chalk wkend for me.

-I'm big on Valero. I like Matt's take on him and tend to agree. Despite all his early ko's, the guy is a relentless buzzsaw and he's still strong late in the fight. I think Demarco fought a shot Kid diamond. Campbell ruined him. I don't think Demarco is quite an A fighter. He's tough and persevering but not at the elite level. Valero was pushed to the brink by Mosquera and he came through with flying colors. So we know he can fight through adversity. He also said he has learned from his mistakes. Demarcos only chance here is for Valero to revert to his old ways, shoot his wad early and tire out. I think Valero will fight at a brisk yet measured pace and HOPEFULLY Demarco will cave sometime in the middle rds. I wagered the fight straight up -350.

-After watching the Hubert Video, I took a little of Branco -500. I don't like the line or Brancos age but Hubert looks pretty bad. Only concern is that he's only lost to undefeated fighters and Brancos age. Branco could get old over night but I think if he brings his Pascal performance, he still gets by this guy. Good luck on your under wagers Gents!

-I also have a parlay of Quillan and Ryal Li from Japan....boxrec wager

Weekend Plays:

I am backing these 6 guys a few different ways.
Booth, Branco, Li Lee, Valero, Adamek, Solis.

Booth - fighting at home and really coming into his own. Marsh won't be able to hold him off. Too Smooth late KO.

Branco - for all the reason's Brainiac and Quanah stated.

Li Lee - the chalk in Japan. The Enoki win is better than anything on Takayama's record.

Valero - Too much. Just way too much for a kid like Demarco.

Adamek - the fight with Arreola is on the line here, and the Polish Power will deliver. I don't doubt that Estrada has trained hard, but he is in above his head here.

Solis - it's his time to be champ. in Mexico.

NO PLAYS for me on Paredes or Mack, but I give both those guys a shot. I like the OVER in the Road Warrior-Mack fight.

NO PLAY on Hernandez but I expect him to decision Chop Chop.

NO PLAYS for me on Quillin or Rios, but I expect both to win. Zuniga looked shitty and like he did care anymore last fight, and Teron has looked vulnerable during his career. Bam Bam Rios by decision or late KO.

I like Valero UNDER 8.5

And I took a shot on Gutierrez at +400 (punch convinced me!) Those who got Gutierrez at the opening +600 are sitting pretty. Line has come way down.

Good luck crew. We start the fights in a few hours with TOO SMOOTH and Branco.
