My plays so far this week...

My plays so far this week...

Adamek vs Estrada Over 11.5-125 Medium
Both guys have shown great chins in the past. Estrada is not a puncher and I am not convinced that Ademek can bang enough to KO heavyweight contenders or above. This fight should go the distance unless a freck injury or cut spoils it, and that is a risk I'm willing to take.

Rios vs Teron Under 9.5-110 Large

Valero vs DeMarco Under 8.5-105 Medium

I'll give my reasoning for my picks Thurs night.

Btw, if any sees a Shamone Alverez Vs Alexis Camacho line, I would greatly appeciate that.

is gutierrez so shot that he warrants being a 5-1 dog to abregu?.....

the same abregu that may have lost to david estrada and was very close to getting k.o.`ed by irving garcia?....

he may well be shot..that draw with jerome ellis is ominous.......curious to hear what others think...

I think Abregu has potential, but is vulnerable and has been exposed. I took both Estrada and I.Garcia at long odds against him, and both times got my money's worth.

I think that Gutierrez IS shot. J.Ellis result was bad, and fight against A.Smith was a complete drubbing. I think Angulo took it out of him.

5 to 1 is a little wide, but I do not see Gutierrez winning here. I think he has been carefully chosen by Abregu people. I would say keep a tab on Abregu for futre upset possibilities, but not here.

yeah...i think that`s pretty much spot on....abregu will be an excellent go against vs the right opposition.....guttierrez is probably a bit too shopworn at this point and a wager, even at +500,might be a bit forced...

thanks for responding..

Very well put and I agree.
Odds are tempting for a reason.

Abregu was life and death with the amazing Irving Garcia and David Estrada, who tough but limited Jesus Soto Karass destroyed. That's enough to take a shot at +400 or higher on Gutierrez IMO. He had Angulo hurt worse than at any time in his career, engaged Clottey in a brutal fight which one judge had a draw and I think Antwone Smith is turning into a special fighter. Guiterrez probably knows its now or never type fight. Don't like that the promoter is Gary Shaw I believe as Abregu and Demarco are Shaw fighters, but what a card by Showtime, can't wait.

I think Quanah is right, but I cant wait to fade Abregu.

I havent seen Gutierez fights against Smith and Ellis, but Ellis is better than his record suggests, and Smith is really good!

...I cant resisist to put some money on Gutierrez!

well said,p.m....that`s the train of thought i had originally until quannah pissed in my cornflakes.... :toast:

i think excellent arguments were made from both sides on this one....that`s why it pays to check the board out everyday....

a pittance at +500 is probably warranted...and nearly pain-free...

great pros and cons,guys...

well I recall you initially having a strong train of thought on Andre Ward over Kessler until you were swayed by all us "experts". Gotta stick to your guns if your good. Who better to trust and blame but yourself, unless you just suck at this, then it's good to follow, lots of good minds here. How's that for a jumbled waste of a minute of your life.

yeah,i really stuck to my guns on ward.....after some very confident wagers went south last year(more than at any time in my gambling career),i was about as confident in my plays as a sky diver that just cut his primary(and hadn`t checked his auxilliary in several years)....i needed to wear a f-cking helmet in here...

much better so far this year.....treading lightly...

I will say this:
Antwone Smith is MILES better than anyone Abregu has ever fought
At his best, I think Gutierrez knocks this Argentinian out
I just don't know what he has had taken out of him

good stuff....you guys got me thinking here for sure....

I am thinking the Road Warrior and Mack goes the distance.....no wager yet though.....

i was watching valero vs pitalua....he`s relatively quick...holds his hands awfully low....appears strong as a bull...

why are demarco`s people taking this fight now?....this kid is improving with every fight...he`s only 24.....

he has a real solid future ahead of him if he doesn`t get wasted early in his career...

i really like what i`ve seen of demarco....but this looks like it might be "to much to soon"...demarco looks like he could fill out a bit more even though he is the natural lightweight...

demarco "may" have a shot...but i`m getting getting a juanma/luevano vibe about this...

one thing I don't like about Demarco is he cries
after every victory
He seems like an emotional cat
not sure this is the type of guy to beat Valero
I think the guy that beats Valero is gonna have to be a master boxer and a calm, disciplined dude
I just haven't seen this from Demarco

but who knows? maybe I am wrong.
maybe he can beat Valero at his own game

I know this -
Valero doesn't give a damn and he REALLY thinks nobody can f with him
that type of self belief goes a long way

You know what? Punchmaster convinced me. And reminded me how much I like to go against Abregu. I also think you guy's were spot on regarding the skill of A.Smith.

I'm gonna go put a speckle on Gutierrez right now. At 5 to 1 it will be fun to watch at the very least.

HBO Protecting Amir Khan? Industry Chatter is Shocking
http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&opt=printable&id=25125

Doesn't suprise me, most promoters talk out of both sides of their mouths, part of the business but GoldenBoy consistently comes up scumball central, but hey, for us betting folks , nothing like backing a Golden Boy fighter on a Golden Boy card.

Wait a minute, isn't that like essentially bribing Maidana, if you stay away from our boy, we'll give you 2 dates on HBO..... doesn't sound right.
