I can't believe I am doing this BUT I am putting a small bet down on "Punch Drunk" Shieka to beat "Old Man" Roy at +500.

After Roy's last performance, I would bet my 3 year old daughter to beat him at +500. She does have the advantage of the better chin these day's.

You ain't alone brother....I put my Sheika bet in last night when the lines came out
If Sheika comes to win, he can knock Roy out
He just has to have a "I don't give a fuk I'm in Roy's house" attitude

If I were Shieka, I would just unload on Roy from Round 1. Ajamu, Hanshaw, and Calzaghe all stunned Jones at points.
Roy is S-H-O-T....he has a good chance of getting KO'ed every single time he steps in the ring from here on out.

Here's to Roy getting wrecked in his hometown!
:toast:

J.C. Gomez and Sheika....if one hits it will be a beautiful weekend.
If neither hits, no big deal...to be expected
if both hit.....I will piss with joy and happiness !

RJ has been very beatable for a long time. Forget the kd against Zags...it was a forearm. If Sheika fights to win he can take it. He cant give RJ an ounce of respect. RJ will shuck and jive and play to the camera but it's ALL SHOW at this point. Take Roy to the ropes and simply outfight him over the course. It all depends on how much Sheika wants it. It's his for the taking IMO. I'd make RJ only a moderate favorite. I would not be shocked to see Sheika stop him.

Well said Romi. I like the under 8.5 as well. I believe that Sheika will go for broke and stop Roy...or be out of gas within 5 rounds and get stopped himself. Sheika hasn't fought in a while. My guess is he can't fight for very long.

But he was always a gamer...and a banger. I hope he fights the same way he used to. If so, we have a shot.

Roy has NOTHING. If he wins Saturday, it's just a matter of time before he gets smoked.

I am looking closer at this Miranda fight
Joey Vegas fought on February 13th against Dean Francis. He weighed 190 !

How the hell is he going to fight at 168 Friday? Is Miranda fighting him at a catch?
It has to be a catch.

edit: Apprarently he weighed 178 when Geard Ajetovic stopped him in 4. and Ajetovic is listed (according to boxrec) and 162 lbs!
guess they have different rules in York Hall, Bethnal Green, London, United Kingdom.

I was looking at exactly the same thing. Miranda isn't a guy that's happy to just get a win. He want's to plant his opponents into the canvas. Wide odds for an under but 8 1/2 is plenty to get it done. I like Miranda in 5 or 6.

I added the over on the Japanese fight early this morning. Hopefully the week strts out on a good note. We'll find out in a few hrs.

American Danny Batchelder is now off as Alexander Ustinov?s possible opponent on Saturday?s huge Stuttgart boxing card. Batchelder suffered a nasty cut and was forced to withdraw from the collision. Replacing him is Brazilian national champion Rafael Zumbano (20-4-1, 17 KOs), who will meet WBA-ranked Ustinov (14-0, 12 KOs) in a non-title eight-rounder.

Wow, some of you guys are on the Sheika train. At the price it certainly is enticing. But I think Roy will probably coast to a decsion win. I don't think Sheika has the goods to rough Jones up a la Glen Johnson. But I do agree that Jones chin could crumble if caught right.

DAMN YOU Batchelder !
I agree Romi -- easiest line of the whole weekend down the drain. Son of a bitch.
Maybe he finally got a look at the size of his opponent.

Stilll looking for Japan for you.

Omar is a durable dude with a strong backround. I just think this one stinks to high heaven. It's too easy. Either Roy is a lock or Omar is the huge overlay as Jones is no more than a shadow of his former self. Smells fishy. If guy HAS to bet it's Sheika all the way. I still feel Gomez CAN surprise but it won't be easy, especially on the scorecards. How bout a 2 dog parlay!!! Payday of the freakin year! Not likely though.

Graham has just posted an excellent write-up on Cordoba-Dunne.

http://www.fightwriter.com/?q=node/2129

In the past, Andy Lee and John Duddy bouts have been shown on Saturdays at this link:

http://www.rte.ie/live/

I am hoping they will carry Dunne-Cordoba live.

I agree with Graham and I like the odds. It's become my big play for the week. Have it straight up in a few bets and in a parlay. Even though I'm Irish, I'm on the Panamanian for a decent amount. . LET'S GO CORDOBA!

Ghost, you ever see a result from the fight in Japan? I searched all fricken day and no luck.

Romi---you got a winner !

Nakahiro keeps 115lb belt!

WBC#4 Japanese super-fly champ Daigo Nakahiro (20-2, 8 KOs), 115, kept his national belt as he pounded out a nearly lopsided decision (100-89, 99-91 and 98-91) over mandatory challenger Kenji Saegusa (18-8-1, 9 KOs), 114.5, over ten frames on Thursday in his native Hiroshima, Japan. Nakahiro, an intelligent sharpshooter (graduate of Hiroshima Univ.), quickly floored the game challenger with a well-timed left hook in the opening session, and continually took the initiative all the way. Saegusa inexplicably changed his stance to southpaw in this bout and kept on fighting in his unfamiliar stance only to lose almost every round. The speedy champ had him at bay in the last three sessions but failed to finish the fading but still game opponent.

http://www.hbo.com/ringlife/

I've pointed this link out previously for Campbell and Kirkland.
A few weeks ago HBO followed Omar Sheika for two webisodes of RINGLIFE.

A little insight on his mindset and preparation. Those hands are going to be an issue I imagine.
Still worth a shot at +500 IMO.

You are missing something Hell...they have a boatload of fights posted.
I don't know why, but I could only find odds on three fights. And not even Bradley was available, and I had several bets on him open. I had this problem several days, and start to think they gave up on boxing. Well, it's back to normal, and I guess it was just me not understanding the new design.
Bodog is not very important but usefull for openers. I've got Bradley at -130 for example...
thanks and good luck romi

Gomez very small +740!:scared
Dunne doesn't go distance +125, small

Im playing the Gomez bout live, there's always a chance for a freak injury against Vitali. If he swings and hits air enough times, he could hurt himself. Peter was embarassingly easy to hit, Gomez should make him miss. Im not sure about the over, either Gomez shows up in great shape and befuddles Vitali's feet, or he shows up for a paycheck and gets pulled out by his corner around 5 or 6. Too risky for me.

Nothing stands out to the extent that Khan did last weekend, so I'm staying light.

I thought Roy had his moments vs Calzaghe, but couldnt deal with the punch output. His one-punch reflexes are there, but his movement is dreadful, he gets pushed over like a feather. We don't know what Sheika has left, so it's no play for me. I expect Roy to cruise to a decision based on pot shots, I don't think Sheika has the energy to follow Glen Johnson's gameplan, though I agree with you guys, Sheika might knock him out at any moment.

I looked at the under 10.5, but the problem is Roy never goes for the KO anymore, he doesn't have the stamina. See the Hanshaw and Trinidad fights. If Sheika gasses, Roy will still go for the decision.

My plays for FRIDAY 3/20:

Las chicas in Germany
Over 9.5 LARGE
Baby Doll only stopped once before on a cut.

Abregu
UNDER 8.5 MEDIUM
Taking a shot in the dark here...Abregu can bang and he is in his hometown
The opponent is a little naturally bigger, but is trash.

Malik Bouziane SMALL
Napa's opponent-who seems decent from Graham's article. Small dog bet.

Beltran Jr. by decision SMALL - the most logical result.

Parlay
Beltran Jr/E. Miranda/Abregu

NO PLAYS on:

Cesar Rene Cuenca vs.
Alex De Jesus
or
Mauricio Martinez vs.
Heriberto Ruiz

Just can't figure them out.
Good luck guys.
