Only solid play I see is Burke-Green goes full route @ 1,17 skybet.
I'm thinking about King on pts @ 2,25 skybet.
Also I saw that people on other forum praise Saville who is favored to beat McArthur, but the guy was inactive between 2002 and 2008. McArthur @ 2,1 looks more solid to me.

I must be insane trying to cap these fights.
Here we go.

My leans:

Brawley
undefeated and the bookies pick to take the tourney, 8 inches taller than his opponent, Scottish

McArthur
good amateur pedigree, 5 inches taller than his opponent, Scottish, and as old dirty points out, Saville had a six year layoff !

King
good amateur, Scottish, opponent looks beat up in online photos
:mj07:

Burke
great amateur (beat Maliginaggi), biggest first round favorite, not Scottish - but looks to be a better fighter than Green

My SMALL bets:

PARLAY
Brawley to Burke
STRAIGHT BET
King
McCarthur

Ricky Burns vs. Michael Gomez
Friday on SKY

Burns shocked me last time out - stopping the tough African Amidu. If memory serves, it was a crap stoppage.

Burns opened at -250 and has been bet to about -320. Wonder if Gomez has anything left?

Gomez stopped in 6 of his 9 losses....but is he coming back down in weight for this? I wonder what the contracted weight is for this thing?

Regarding Prizefighter tourney its interesting that odds on Brawley who is favored to winn the whole thing went from 1,55 to 1,71 in his 1/4final match.

Anyway, I took:

Burke-Green goes full route @ 1,17 2u
- 3rnd fight, Burke won 8 (KO 2) + lost 0 (KO 0), Green won 11 (KO 0) + lost 9 (KO 2)

King on pts @ 2,25 1u

Burke @ 1,5 1u

We're on the same side Ghost, good luck!!

Regarding Brawley, I think the price came down because his opponent Ben Murphy recently upset a guy 14-0. But Brawley has a HUGE height and reach advantage today. I would be surprised if he doesn't just keep him at bay for 3 rounds. These fights fly by.

I believe we will win on King and Burke. Not so sure on McCarthur, but I took a small shot there as well.

If Burke is as good as people say, he will not lose to a guy 11-9.

Just noticed that Brawley is a lefty. 3 rds are not enough to figure out 6 inch taller southpaw.

You're right Ghost, I'm taking Brawley.

Thnx Ghost, I like our bet again :)
Our boy has a good footwork, knows how to use ring, good jab and is loose.
He should just keep his hands up and we'll be fine.

old dirty,

I'm going to start a Prizefighter thread. to keep the weekend thread clear for other fights.

Having never a lot of these guys, I actually feel good about today's plays.

Always feel good beforehand, of course.

chambers now -135 at the greek
:mj07:

damn he will be -150/-155 at fight time

Yep. Everyone and their mama on Chambers. Hope we are all right.
:mj07:

Line opened at +175. Might do a complete flip to -175 (probably not that far...but it doesn't look like it is going back)
