Yep. Everyone and their mama on Chambers. Hope we are all right.
:mj07:

Line opened at +175. Might do a complete flip to -175 (probably not that far...but it doesn't look like it is going back)

But Marty Mulcahey states he's "going out on a limb and picking Chambers"

He's acting as if Peters is a huge favorite. I like his columns but he kind of made himself look silly there.

I slept on the good odds when I had the opportunity. I wanted to see what Peters weigt was as well as get an idea on his mental attitude towards this fight. My lean is towards Chambers but not convinced enough to pull the trigger. IMO, Peters weight and preparedness determine the outcome. Good Luck!

didn't see a line on this anywhere, but
Roberto Vasquez (27-2) vs. Hugo Cazares (26-5-2)
in Panama.

Midway thru the fight right now - a good scrap. Cazares has scored a knockdown - but Vasquez is in front of the home crowd and is all over his opponent's ass. pretty close bout.

In Round 5 of 11. now.
11 round title fight. that still feels weird to say.

Very surprised we didnt see a line on that. I noticed the fight taking place a while back and just assumed dimes would put up a line. Thx for the update.

down goes Cazares! wow. good fight.
He goes down in the 8th after having a few good rounds in a row.
He is up now....3 rounds to go.

You gotta think if this goes to the cards, the Panamanian will get it.

Entering the 11th and final round
Cazares came back fantastically from the knockdown
took round 9 and 10 big
He is up and if it goes to the cards he deserves it
bet you anything he won't get it though
not in Panama

116-112
116-111

UD for Cazarez...he gets the win on the road
good decision

forgive if the scores aren't totally accurate
the guy was speaking spanish fast
I'm close though

Cazares is a very gutty guy....good fighter...he was a bit unlucky both times against Calderon

it doesn't always work punch...but ocassionally TV MAX in Panama is streamed on this site:
http://www.tvn-2.com/noticias/envivo_juventud/

Just depends really...last night they had it.
When Caballero, Cordoba, and Moreno fought that homecoming triple-header (9/18/2008) it was on as well. But other nights, it hasn't worked. Kind of random. Love it when it works though!

BTW, here are the actual scores
I wa so tired last night, I gave the scores of a 12 rounder
this, of course, was 11 rounds and read as follows:

Cazares won UD 11
105-103, 107-101, 107-102

so far my plays are:

chambers @ 2 1u
-i too waited to long and missed much better odds, everybody is on chambers but i still can't forget his reluctance to fight povetkin in the second part of the fight. i am afraid that this trigger problem can be part of his character (ala guinn) but i took him because word is that peter is not training hard

burns @ 1,53 1u
-5dimes odds are 1,33 so there must be some value here. also, gomez didn't beat someone significant for a long time

dodson @ 1,62 1u
-looks much more experienced and on higher level than replacement opponent quigley. his glass jaw worries me though

also thinking about Kuehne over 8rds @ 1,35 (chick fight)

good luck guys!!

I'm a fan of "Fast Eddie" but I wonder if many have come to a foregone conclusion on this match-up. Peter has a massive strength and power advantage. Chambers tends to take many siesta's on the ropes and that is a bad place to hang around with the likes of Peter.

Yes, Chambers has the faster hands and a nice tight defense but this may be tougher than many think. Even an overweight Calvin Brock rallied a bit late to make it look closer than it should have been.

That said, Chamber's is an earnest kid that is apparently having a good camp and has been looking good - albeit against C level competition.

Bottom line, it's tough for me to pick at this time. I really want to get a glimpse of what Peter looks like at the weigh in.

He's been quiet and the only thing I've heard, so far, is that commentator Teddy Atlas heard he wasn't looking too sharp in training. At the very least, it's an intriguing heavyweight fight.

Very good, balanced take. I am on Chambers as well, but I understand where Kramden and Romi are coming from.

Chambers cannot afford to be lazy against a guy like Peter. I have seen him pretty damn lazy twice. against Brock and Povetkin. But I have also seen him look quite good in other fighters.

Bottom line: The weigh-in tomorrow in a mandatory check for those betting on this fight. I still stand by what I said.

If Chambers is under 220, and Peter is above 255 - I will be adding more to my Chambers bet.
Peter is one of those guys (like Rahman) where the weight really is a CLEAR sign of the camp. If he's fat tomorrow, I think he loses.

Romi,

Have you seen any lines yet for the Showtime fights Saturday?

Hearns-Yorgey and Dirrell-Findley?
lines seem to be a little late this week.

Haven't seen ANY new lines this week
:( :( :( we got a little spoiled last week when they came out on Tues. I'm in the U.S so I don't have access to the British sites many of you are fortunate to have.

still no odds
it takes time to handicap a fight and i hate to do it without knowing what the odds are
i have 6 books (3 european) and neither has more than 5 fights listed and pretty much the same fights
oh well ...

I haven't seen many lines for the fight schedule Ghost poster earlier. Usually the sites would carry many of those bouts and they would be up at this point. Is the oddsmaker off for some reason? Anyway, if anyone has info on those prospective lines, it would be appreciated by all.
