Lacy-Griffin prop

Lacy-Griffin prop

You guys may think I have gone over the edge, BUT, as bad as Lacy has looked, Griffin gets MAD if you don't KO him. I think this "opponent" is the perfect pigeon for Lacy. He needs a guy worse than him; it's the only way he can gain an advantage and win, by KO. I like the UNDER 8.5 rd. prop-160. It's Lacy's home turf and even HE can produce a good effort once in a while! Also, Griffin fought 3x in 2008; once at 166, then 177, then 187. Now he has to go back to 166? I think this boy has a food addiction and will be drained at 166. Matter of fact I don't think he has ever been at 166. I say goodnite Otis!

I agree on the under 8.5 because Griffin has a glass chin and this current version of lacy should take him out in 5-6 rounds. The old version of Lacy might of KOed Griffin in 3 rounds or less.

Btw, I read of fightnews that the fight was at a catch weight of 172, but now I can't find it on fightnews after the article was updated.

Does anyone know the weight agreed? I know boxrec says super middleweight, but a confirmation would better. Because as you say frank, griffin's last fight was at 187.5 and getting down to 168 might cause him to really drain himself to make weight.

Yea matt, I get your drift. Calling it super-middle is close enough for these guys. I would like it a LOT at 168 though. I think Lacy needs a confidence builder, and this could be the ticket. As long as Lacy actually shows some agression, I think it could cash.

"New coach John Tandy has been impressed with Griffin?s work ethic and ability to follow instructions, as always I have a game plan for the fight and as long as Otis doesn?t get caught with anything silly and follows the plan we have been working on I am more than confident he will come out on top in this one."

Looks like Griffin's trainer knows Otis's might get caught by Lacy too.

OK, so if Lacy doesn't throw ANY punches and plays nice, Griffin is a mortal lock. Sounds like a plan!

Ghost, it's Mrdjenovich-Gerula in Canada.
Girls, 10 rds, sbk has 1,5 for over 8,5 which is well considering that Gerula is not a puncher and has been stopped only once in 10 defeats. Mrdjenovich has never been stopped and has just below 50% (which is actually pretty high for girl).
Only drawback is that Mrdjenovich is guilty for only KO loss on Gerula record (4th rd in 2004) :mj07:

I think it's still a good bet since Gerua has been better since that loss and Mrdjenovich last 10 fights went distance.

In Tepic, Mexico
Saul Alvarez (25-0-1) vs. Michel Rosales (19-2)

Why no line from the books on this one?
This is a good step-up for Alvarez and an intriguing fight.

Maybe by Saturday.

Love to see an O/U on that one. I think Saul bangs Rosales out in about 6 rounds.

Unbeaten WBA welterweight champion Yuriy Nuzhnenko (28-0-1, 13 KOs) weighed in at 147lbs even for his title defense against also unbeaten Vyacheslav Senchenko on Friday night at the Sportpalace Drusba in Donetsk, Ukraine. Senchenko (28-0, 20 KOs) scaled in at 146.6 lbs.

I've gone lrge on Hector Sanchez. Unknown quantity but after a little research he was an international amateur from PR that has some good credentials. The guy is freakish @ 6' 2". He's only 22 and appears to be setting down on his punches as of late. He has impressive kos over Humberto Tapia (never been stopped) and Wilson Alcoro who lasted longer with Nate and Humberto Soto. They are comparing this kid to a young Tito...for what that's worth. I know talk is cheap. Corley has seen better days. He's lost 9 of 14 and stopped twice, including a stretch of 6 straight losses. His last 2 wins were by ko but against 2 scrubs. Sanchez will have a 7" ht advant! Corley will need to be invigorated to win this IMO. With as little info as I could gather(google), I like Sanchez and possibly ITD with an under +215 7
1/2 rds. Played it small on the under but went large straight up -260 and -290.

Good info Romi. Thanks.
I was actually leaning to play the over - Chop Chop is a hard out, and its only 8 rounds. Alfaro got him out, but Alfaro is a massive puncher.

But with your info on his amateur pedigree, maybe a Sanchez stoppage isn't out of the question.
The height advantage, in particular, will give him a lot of leverage.

I think this Sanchez kid is with Golden Boy.

Good article from a local Arizona paper (where ESPN FNF is tomorrow night):
http://www.gvnews.com/articles/2009/04/08/sports/00boxingblog.txt#blogcomments

A few key notes:

-Lopez and Sanchez are both with Golden Boy.

-This is Golden Boy's first show of a long term deal signed recently with ESPN FNF. Something like 8 shows a year.

-There is a little confusion over whether the Lopez vs. Ossie Duran bout will be fought at 154 or 160. This article states that Lopez is moving back to 54 for this one. In that case, I don't think he will be able to get Duran out of there (the guy went the route with Kirkland).

Duran is pretty durable. He went the dist w/Kirkland however Kirkland admitted he wasn't in good shape b4 that fight occurred. In shape Kirkland stops him. I think the over hits but not sure I'm willing to buy it for -260. Good luck and thx for the article!

If Arreola comes in good shape for him (240-245lbs.), what go you guys think about the over/under 7.5 rounds?

None of Chris's fight have gone past 7.5 rounds and McCline is 38 and likes to fight at a slow pace. The only problem here is McCline does have a good chin, so I was woundering what you guys think? I guess a lot depends on Arreola's weight.
