Showtime is really stepping up lately, Bradley vs. Holt, Taylor vs. Froch, and 3 straight Shobox Friday nights!

Froch/JT is an excellent matchup. At first glance my lean was towards JT with his speed and athleticism. The more i think about it, my lean is shifting towards froch. JT has yet to have a coming out party. Yes he beat Hop twice but both were very debateable. His draw w/Wink was debateable. His win over Ouma was unimpessive and his close one w/Spinks was pathetic. His ko loss to pav and subsequent pts loss didnt help his case either. His pts win over Lacy is lessoned with Lacy possibly getting a gift over Otis Griffin and lacy is clearly a shot fighter. JT will need to hurt froch to get his respect and I'm not so sure he can. Froch will be in his face all night long. Not so sure JT can sustain being pressured like that over the course. I see a similar fight as Froch Pascal. Anywhos, after careful thought, my lean is now slightly towards Froch. Regardless who wins, this is a great matchup and I'm really looking forward to it.

Good stuff Romi.
When I think of this fight, I keep saying to myself "Is Jermaine Taylor a better fighter at 168 than Jean Pascal?"
I actually don't think so.
Pascal was doing very well against Froch early. But this English guy has an iron will and a good chin. He certainly is there to be hit though. Bad defensively. Fights a lot with his hands down.
This is an interesting match-up. I'm going to bet it, just not sure which way quite yet.

Excellent post Romi!

I see this fight about the same.

Taylor at first glance looks like the obvious choice with his speed and flashiness, but Taylor tends to fade badly in the later stages and Froch will put the pressure on Taylor.

Apparently Taylor is having a very good training camp, but of course you wouldnt expect to hear anything different in the press.

Taylor looked impressive against Lacy, but that doenst mean anything. Froch is tough, I believe he can walk through anything Taylor throws at him (though Taylors power in the early rounds is very good  ) and get to him in the later rounds.

I see either a close decision or possibly a draw or a late ko for Froch as the likeliest results...

I've gone back and forth on the Froch/Taylor fight, so far it's likely no play. I see JT winning a close decision based on higher output. Here's a good analysis of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3_auPJXUjg&feature=channel_page

Anyone going to play Penalosa? imo Lopez is the real deal here, I want to load up on him.

Penalosa was losing every second against Johnny Gonzalez until he landed that killer body shot...this is going to be tough for him in Puerto Rico

However, Gerry has never been stopped in a professional fight

I will be VERY impressed if Juan Ma can do it

thx for the link. That's the guy that accurately picked Hop to win easily against Pav. You have to repect his opinion even though he gets em wrong on occasion. I like his logic and he can carefully and intelligently explain his picks.

I think Taylor, like Pavlik, are past their respective peaks, and are heading downward. However, two points regarding Taylor. He did look much better in Pavlik-Taylor the sequel. He made some adjustments and did'nt exhibit that "herky-jerky" style he showed all of his career. Beating Lacy isn't anything to write home about. Froch is extremely dangerous, BUT, he has a habit I abhor. He will stand there with both hands down by his side. Maybe there is a method to the madness. Probably. If Froch doesn't win by KO, he could lose due to home cooking. Truth be told, I already bet Taylor, however, the worm may turn in the apple on this one. The line is moving so my -115 on Taylor can be dissolved and I can start fresh. I do not have a strong opinion here. I'll wait for more opinions from this crew.

My (humble) opinion, Frank, is that you have it right.
Taylor has the skills and athleticism to outpoint Froch. I intend to bet Taylor and might do live play to hedge after 6 rds or so.

Sato actually looks ok on this picture much better than on the other pictures I have seen of him.

I played Under 9.5 @+170.

What do you think of the second fight Zerwas?
I was impressed by Balzay last time out against Inkin...he might be able to get Masoe of out there.

I'm going to watch more of Soto on youtube...those under odds you got look good

I think so!
Balzay should get him out of there, but I expect the over / under for this fight to be rather low.
I'm not sure, maybe Masoe is a little tought than we think and Balzays power is still a little unproven....
