There is a but of confusion over the re-scheduled Raul Garcia/Ronald Barrera title fight in Mexico. The new date was to be 4/11/09. However, boxrec is now listing it for 4/4/09.

I know a few of us have plays on this fight. I will try to confirm early this week.

wow, I really like your commitment!

I actually had a good pretty good week (finally), I'm sorry to hear that so many lost on Hearns, I thought his chin might be fragile, but i didnt expect it to show in this fight...anyway, the odds were too poor for me to join the hearns bandwagon...

I didnt realize that we have so many compelling fights next week!
I'm on Bradley at -130.
bwin has the over on Povetkin Estrada set at o/ u 7 rounds...pays -200!
Thats the way to go IMO!
I expect Povetkin to struggle a bit in this fight. If the odds are good, I'm going for a draw....

Could not agree more!!

Ghost is a class act and a GREAT addition to this forum.

I liked the kid from the start. Never badmouths or shits on anyones opinions and is a real team player.

He finds results or links that nobody else can and shares them.

He gets my vote for Madjacks MVP :mj06:

we all love ghost....but lets not forget that an honest divergence of opinion is a healthy part of a gambling forum.....

of course, i mean done respectfully....we don`t want a bunch of yes men jumping on every opinion just to be amenable....

working together...with honest and open debate...along with guys like ghost doing the things that enhance our info base....

these are what make this this forum so good...it`s been like that for years....and is better than ever now...

keep up the good work,ghost....and don`t forget we have a ufc event wenesday, saturday and one on the 18th with some nice opportunities...

I agree completely, Ghost does an excellent job with these weekly threads, always providing much needed info, links, streams, results, etc...and of course picking winners. A solid and consistent effort every week

After 6 years of starting these threads and picking winners, I finally ran out of the time and energy required to stay ahead of the game. I recruited most of these boxing brains that joined us lately, good to see everyone's getting along better now that I'm not around anymore...lol. Also good to see someone as solid as Ghost has taken over and brought this thread to a whole new level. Very well done

Congrats on your continued success gentlemen

Could not agree more Brother :toast:

But, divergance of opinion on most other forums results in being called a newbie or a know nothing wankstain on the boxer shorts of life as well as some other interesting insults.

Layinwood and I have had a difference of opinion on a few fights but I respect his point of view and he never shows malice towards my opinions.

I LOVE the respect that is shown on this forum. It makes me feel like part of a gambling Brotherhood :mj07:

Damn you don't waste any time. I like it. I have a pending on Garcia to finish a parlay to win 5 bucks and also Bradley pending.

I'm going back to my old strategy. I'm attempting too many picks. Several weeks I have a good winning % but too often I let a fight or 2 kill me. Also, instead of settling for a good week, I've been going for the mother lode and not hedging after being up a decnt amt...absolutely killed me last week. I still feel this is the best racket going. Better luck this week everybody !

I made the previous post late last night and the laptop battery died so I just posted it without seeing all the other ones. I'll chime in.

Ghost is an EXCELLENT addition. Without question nobody else puts in the time and dedication he does. He has provided an incredible amount of info, links, streams, etc. That along with good boxing instincts and good humor to boot, help make this the best betting forum, bar none. He gets my vote for MVP. This is a great bunch of boxing minds without the egos. Cheers to everybody that adds a little something to this site. :toast: :toast: :toast: Something to keep in mind...Not sure where everybody lives but it would be cool to someday get together for a big fight, have a few drinks and talk some good ole boxing.

Team Effort Fellas.

I am high energy (me lady calls it spasmatic), but I'm also a dweller. I have to move on quickly to next week, or this Hearns thing will drive me insane. The Cintron-Martinez debacle ate at me for a month. I have to fill my mind with next week, or I will start obsessing over "possible winnings". Unhealthy.

Regarding an honest divergence of opinion, Weasel makes an excellent point. Often, debating over a fight will lead me to a different take...or make me feel stronger about my original plan of attack. More information is always better. Particularly in combat sport, where there are so many variables and so many fights each week.

Regarding attempting too many picks, Romi, you and I are were in the same boat this week. My percentage was VERY high, but when that many fights are on the table, it becomes difficult to remain focused and add up the numbers. I'm going to talk about this in the weekend review thread.

Boxlocks...you the man...I was watching the forum for a good while before joining. Your track record speaks for itself. I can only hope to do the weekly thread justice.

I plan on keeping this going for a long time. Last year was very profitable, and I expect this year to be even better. We are only starting April. Let's get everyone some money!

To the brotherhood !

Future Line posted this morning:

June 20th - Germany
David Haye +200
Wladimir Klitschko -280

I don't like to bet money that far in advance, but WOW! If you like Wlad in this fight, that's a low line!

Unlike some, I actually give Haye a shot. So I am going to wait. But the fight, as far as we know, is going to be in Germany. I thought Klit would open -450.

Guess all that talking Haye is doing has people excited.

I think both fighters are capable of knocking each other out, but Wlad is the favorite obviously...so far, its no play for me....

Reyes might have a shot if he's motivated and in shape. he's tall, takes a shot and can punch. Diaz has showed frailties in the past.

It's hard to imagine Valero getting upset but Pitalua is a Mexican secret via Colombia and is obviously a dangerous cat. Check his record.
