I made the previous post late last night and the laptop battery died so I just posted it without seeing all the other ones. I'll chime in.

Ghost is an EXCELLENT addition. Without question nobody else puts in the time and dedication he does. He has provided an incredible amount of info, links, streams, etc. That along with good boxing instincts and good humor to boot, help make this the best betting forum, bar none. He gets my vote for MVP. This is a great bunch of boxing minds without the egos. Cheers to everybody that adds a little something to this site. :toast: :toast: :toast: Something to keep in mind...Not sure where everybody lives but it would be cool to someday get together for a big fight, have a few drinks and talk some good ole boxing.
Long time reader/ part time poster here, but I just had to say that I have always enjoyed what Ghost does around here. That guy is on the ball!
Long time, no post

Glad to see this board is running active and lot's of strong help.

I went -210 on Pianeta to win.
Francesco Pianeta (18-0) vs. Albert Sosnowski (44-2)

I am attending the PPV card in Austin this weekend.

Escobedo and Katsidis seem like winners, but i'm sure they will be favored.
Is this my boy SpreadKing from fightjudge? This is SugarShane from over there dude...if it's you. I had no clue you posted here bro. I found this place with a google search and don't really know anyone from the message boards that posts here. Good to see you around dude.

:director: WHERE are the new lines??????
I've been wondering the same thing. I want to make plays on Bradley and the Valero-Pitalua over/under depending on what it is. Tons of other bets to be made as well. They're really slacking this week.

I'm still trying to make up for my hesitance from last week. I was dead set on making a small to medium sized play on Yorgey over Hearns, but I kept reading how it was going to be a Hearns blowout from pretty much 100% of the people's opinions that I read. That combined with the fact that there's been quite a few appalling decisions given to the loser on ESPN lately caused me to be a baby and pass on Yorgey. I have never been the least bit impressed with Hearns, and I've seen Yorgey several times. I just had a really good feeling and let it go after reading everyone's predictions. Dammit.

I guess I mis-spoke calling him the German. You are indeed correct. Born in Italy, Based in Germany.

He is also a southpaw.
Here is the Marrone fight. All 2 rounds of it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sad2dY-tskU

Appreciate the link Ghost...good work once again. Marrone was OUT on his feet and for him and Duva to gripe about the stoppage was laughable. Had it gone on 10 more seconds, Marrone would have gone out on a stretcher. I was laughing as he was pouting in the corner and refusing water. Too bullheaded to admit he just got hammered. Pinaneta looked half way decnt IMO but Marrone is so limited it's hard to gauge the win. I thought he fought rather composed as Marrone was applying pressure.

Yes, Romi I was thinking the same thing about his composure
Although he lays back a little too much for my taste, maybe he was just waiting for the right moment (which he found)
He did show calm during the wild Marrone flurries - but I think Sos is more accurate than Marrone
I think this fight will be a NO PLAY for me - it could go either way

Curious to see who wins though

Good Lord....back and forth on this fight....Garcia-Barrera now pushed back to the APRIL 11th date....
NOT THIS WEEKEND

something about TV rights with Azteca

from notifight.com:

?Postpone glimmer-Barrera in La Paz!

La Paz, BCS. While awaiting the arrival today of the Colombian warrior Ronald "El Indio" Barrera in this city to address its commitment to compete in world championship straw weight of the local FIB Raul "glimmer" Hirale Garcia, the developer announced that the Eco Promotions function is postponed to April 11, that because of commitments with TV Azteca, which both fighters will have an extra week of preparation for this important duel.

After watching the fight, the Italian has a good right uppercut and the left 45 (in between a hook and an uppercut) is really his best punch. I think the left 45 will give him an advantage when Sos tries to get in close. One think I don't like is the Italian seems to stop punching and let his oppenent punch and then he would just clinch instead of counter. But, like you guys said, it is hard to judge a 2 round fight and maybe the first round was just "feeling out" round.

Probably a no play, but this will certianly be a good fight to judge him for future fights.

What is the deal on the lack of boxing lines this late on a Thursday? They are really dragging their feet. That really pisses me off. Anybody have any lines any where?

very good point matt.
The "left 45" as you say could catch Sos leaping in
Sos over-commits to land-but he seems to have a decent beard

I think it's possible the books took a little bit of a pasting last week and some seem afraid to dip their toe in the water. They made a lot of mistakes last week with nice plus numbers on Ragosina under, Montiel under. Chambers, Burns under, even money on Soto under and Lopez in Puerto Rico. Just a guess

What are they going to do, give us 5 minutes to wager. Ridiculous!

I was thinking the same as Punch. The books had some "off" lines last week and they are probably a bit nevous and holding off till the last possible moment. The trouble is, no one knows for sure a line is off until AFTER the fight. The only glaringly obvious bad line I saw last week was in the Ragosina fight. Yes, Soto destroyed Davis, but Soto hadn't exactly been a ball of fire in his last two fights, and while Montiel tore apart Silva, very easily, Montiel hadn't been able to put a dent in his last opponent. I must admit I saw longer fights here, although I did like both Soto and Montiel by stoppage. ... I am sure the books got something back with the plays that were made on Ronald Hearns. That result shocked a lot of people I consider to be very knowledgeable.

I'd say more than likely it's because you have 1 person who has the balls to open. If you take a look at the MMA and boxing schedule this week, it's a ton of stuff. Has nothing to do with if a book has a losing or winning week. The books win a LOT more than they lose.

I smell collusion. These guys have got to be on the phone with one another palying catch me fuk me. Back in the day I had some outrageous scalps here in Vegas. Hows about Felix Trinidad-115 at the Mirage and -220 at the Las Vegas Hilton. Of course the takebacks, which I don't recall exactly, were adjusted accordingly. That was the sweetest free money imaginable. The Mirage would take 20-30 dimes without blinking. I can't find a scalp now worth a hill of beans. My point is these guys hate to get played like that so they post generic lines now for the most part. I think there are maybe 3-4 guys on earth that make boxing lines and service the books, here and offshore. Still, nothing better than a winner in the squared circle.

Victoria's Secret
ouch shitload of chalk

Torres got "upper-butted" and got knocked silly. Was basically out on his feet, then Holt finished the job. I was there at P.Hollywood that nite. It totally sucked what happened to Torres. I hope Bradley administers poetic justice.

have you seen lines for bradley-holt in vegas?

i'm going to be there for final four, maybe i can drop a play on it in sin city

Carlos Hernandez vs Vicente Escobedo

Carlos Hernandez vs Vicente Escobedo

Wow the over 9.5 rounds line on the Carlos Hernandez vs Vicente Escobedo went from +125 to -500 in about an hour! I made a meduim play at +125 but I didn't think I was getting a great line and still don't.

Hernandez has a great chin and Escobedo has only been down once against Daniel Jimenez which was from a short jab that Escobedo took when he was off balance, but never hurt. This fight should go the full 10, but -500 is ridculous. I mean that is the kind of line that you see when two powder puff female boxers get with those short 2 minute rounds fight.
