Hasegawas weight is of some concern, but I think he should win here.
He really looked tremendous in his last 5 fights, and Montiel looked very beatable against a guy that was smoked be Hasegawa.

I also think that Montiel is a bit unproven at 118 lbs, he is certainly dwarfed by Hasegawa, but on hte other hand Hasegawa might not be a 100% conditionningwise....

Anyways, I ilke Hasegawa and I wouldnt be surprised to see another stoppage....

Japan picks/Prizefighter

Japan picks/Prizefighter

Hey guy's,

I'm on all the favs in Japan. I like the odds on Haswgawa, and parlayed him with diffierent combinations with Nishioka and Aoh - both of whom I think are solid.

I also think Hide will certainly win the Prizefighter. The field is a joke, tourney was made for him to win. If he doesn't, it's bad for him. I think all the favs hold serve in the first round, but as Ghost said, the tourney is unpredictable.

Quanah, I'm with you on Haswgawa. Any idea what time the fight will be? My sportsbook says 2 am, but they're usually wrong.

Those look good matt
:toast:

The problem with the Japanese card, as we discussed a few weeks ago, is that Friday Japanese cards actually happen in the middle of the night Thursday in America and Canada.

And the boxing lines didn't come out till today, which means most books will say F it and not carry this card. I would be pleasantly surprised if The Greek, 5d, etc. carried these 3 fights - but from past history I doubt it.

I think I am going to try and get up tonight and do a round by round, even if I can't get a bet down. Hasegawa has made me money in the past and I will be rooting for him.

A press conference held today at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas showcased the Pay-Per-View co-features and undercard of Saturday night?s ?Mayweather vs. Mosley: Who R U Picking?? megafight. In the co-main, unbeaten, copper-topped welterweight Saul Alvarez (31-0-1, 23 KOs), heralded as the next big name out of Mexico, will take on once-beaten Puerto Rican, Jose Miguel Cotto (31-1-1, 23 KOs).

?I have a lot of respect for my rival but obviously, like every fight, I?m here to win,? said Alvarez. ?That?s what I plan to do on Saturday night.?

Cotto?s trainer, Jose Santiago, promised an upset that would result in, both, Golden Boy matchmaker Eric Gomez and CEO Richard Schaefer, losing their jobs. ? I will prevail on May 1st and will have a big win,? said Cotto. ?I?m not fighting in my weight. I accepted to fight and will fight at his weight. I hope that he comes in the same condition of me.? Stay tuned for a full report on today?s press conference by Andreas Hale, with a full photo gallery.

If Cotto does pull of the upset, I don't think Golden Boy is going to be offering him a contract. Cotto should tell his trainer to shut his trap.

sad result of the week:
Lee Sherington defeats Rubin Williams in Australia.
7 losses in a row for Ruben (8 if you count MMA).

On the same parlay as Matt...Hasa/Oah... I got it +101. Montiel should have and would have been ktfo just 2 fights ago. The ref in Mexico saved his ass BIG TIME. Not a huge play but would be a nice start to a "slow" week. Is there a stream to this and anybody know what time this one starts?

Good luck everybody!
