New Stieglitz opponent named

New Stieglitz opponent named

The new opponent for WBO world champion Robert Stieglitz (39-2, 23 KOs) in his upcoming title defense is a very dangerous fighter. After the cancellation of the unification duel against WBA champion Dimitri Sartison due to injury, the SES champion Stieglitz will now face the southpaw contender Khoren Gevor (31-5, 16 KOs). ?We were very lucky in finding a new opponent on such short notice,? promotor Ulf Steinforth said. The Armenian born and WBO# 11 rated Gevor was originally scheduled to fight against the current European champion Matthew Macklin on April 16 in Manchester in a WBA eliminator fight. But Macklin had called off the battle at the beginning of last week. ?Khoren Gevor is in full training and prepared for the 12 rounds,? Steinforth added.

Malignaggi-Cotto

Malignaggi-Cotto

Malignaggi I am familiar with. Lots of bobbing and weaving; tap-tap, shoeshine job. Could never understand why he doesn't at least TRY to set down on his punches. Little Cotto I don't know from a hole in the wall. Hope to see some posts before I make my final trek to the book. Lines if any are probably prohibitive at this point. Thongie says he was at Mandalay Bay today so he may report in.

campbell coming back to fight danny garcia at jr welter after losing to walter estrada?....both fight for golden boy.....and the fact that golden boy is putting nate in with one of their prospects does not bode well for nate`s chances...

I am thinking this has a lot to do with trying to salvage a card that had problems from the jump. As I said before, I don't rate this PPV quality action. Your observation makes sense. Garcia seems to be evolving into a banger. Last 4 wins were by KO. Nate is almost 40; Garcia 23. Campbell I think has more ring savvy, but maybe his legs don't hold up. I may give the galaxy warrior a shot as long as he doesn't stick his chin out ala Robin Peden!

based on their recent respective weights posted at boxrec, there will be a natural size advantage for garcia.....

nate said after estrada that he saw the openings but couldn`t pull the triiger...he said at the time he knew it was over....

i`ve always liked campbell...i thought he did an excellent job as an analyst on the show that i saw him doing commentary....he was verrry good..smart and savvy and well spoken...somebody should hire him....he blows guys like roy jones away as a commentator,imo...

i`m not happy that he`s taking this....

Nate C.

Totally agree; I hope he doesn't get destroyed. He is an excellent commentator for sure. I'd rather listen to him than Jim Lampley any day.
