thanks brahmer

i have to bet on julio cesar chavez jr now

:mj07:

I actually like little legend in this one. His daddy won't let his little pumpkin get beat up, and I am not overly impressed with Zbik anyway. Also, Hopkins AND Pascal both said the exact same thing at the press conference;"enjoy the fight" and split. WTF! No smack from either guy. Hmmm?

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (42-0-1 ,30 KOs) will have the opportunity to fight for the WBC Middleweight Title as he takes on world champion Sebastian Zbik (30-0, 10 KOs) of Germany on June 4 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. This will be the third fight for Chavez Jr. under famed trainer Freddie Roach. The two hooked up last year in June before Chavez? twelve round unanimous decision over John Duddy at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, followed by a ten round unanimous decision over Billy Lyell in Culiacan Sinaloa Mexico this past January.

?Against Duddy he was not a complete fighter, for the last fight we had against Lyell we only had three weeks to prepare and this time we have more time to prepare, he is much better now in terms of technique,? Roach told Fightnews.com on working with Chavez Jr. in preparation for his upcoming title bout. Continued ?

Cleverly-new opponent

Cleverly-new opponent

Braehmer stripped of WBO belt

New Cleverly opponent named

Tony Bellew has stepped in to face big rival Nathan Cleverly this Saturday at The O2 in London. Bellew, 28, will challenge for Cleverly?s WBO light heavyweight title after Braehmer was stripped of the title and the Welshman installed as champion. Following yesterday?s events when Braehmer pulled out of his fight against Cleverly by failing to arrive in London and then later claiming a cut eye, promoter Frank Warren has been searching for an opponent for Cleverly. Bellew, the current Commonwealth Champion, registered his interest straight away by posting on social-networking sites that he wanted the fight against Cleverly. Continued ?

Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum was also on hand for today?s media workout. ?Julio is in great shape. He has picked up a lot of technique from Freddie. You are going to see the best Julio has been in his career. Ticket sales are going great and we expect a sellout,? Arum told Fightnews.com

Bellew calls Cleverly a "fucking rat". This stuff is too funny! I see a KO in this somewhere.

I'd probably take it all with a grain of salt, seeing as how they are trying to salvage their event at the last minute. I have to admit they did a good job of it though.

Bellew Out

Bellew Out

Nathan Cleverly WILL NOT fight Tony Bellew it has been announced on Sky Sports.

Bellew could not make the contracted weight.

Aleksy Kuziemski (21-2, 5ko) will be the new opponent for tomorrows PPV event at the 02 Arena.

Speculation out of the UK is that Frank Warren knew Bellew couldn't make the weight, and just staged that presser this morning so fans would be pumped to see Cleverly vs. Bellew in the future.

I was going to say that they made a brilliant job of saving the event, but this is really unprofessional!!

Hey guys.

Just caught up on the news.

First thought, Braehmer is a chump. I don't know what the guys deal is, but he's screwing over a lot of folk with all of this backing out...including me who had a bundle on Cleverly They did the right thing by stripping him.

Also, EXCELLENT go between in the forum regarding the Hopkins-Pascal fight! It will be very interesting to see how this sorts out.

Very excited about this weekend's fights!

I love it. This made me more excited about this fight.

Bernard is a straight up badass.

He's in Pascal's head man.

My 2 cents regarding Pascal-Hopkins fight:

I don't have them! I have no idea!
I don't remember that I ever had so much trouble caping the fight. I had a lot on Pascal first time and was totally confident before the fight.

Hard to beat Nard in war of words. Bhop clearly amused by process and not truly bothered by anything Pascal says. You have to take Hopkins' death innuendo's with a huge dollop of salt as that simply ain't happening.

As an appetizer to start off a huge weekend, I'm gonna tip the UNDER in the Rabchenka-Pryce fight for a solid play. 7.5 @ +130. Rab has been in light, but he's been blowing guys out of there. 11 ko's straight. Pryce is gimpy. I thought his display against limited M.Hall was dreadful. He fights straight up and leaves his chin out there. He can box well enough if given space, but punchers give him problems. Pryce on paper is Rab's best opponent, but I think he goes after him and takes him out - maybe very early.

Also, I think Julio, DeGale, Lebedev, and Dawson are all solid.

The line on Julio is a bit strange to me. Was just -500. Shawn Porter was -3000 against Adjaho in last fight. Julio and Porter are on par I think - at this point I would even like Julio if they fought. Maybe Adjaho is better prepared this time, but I think he's quickly reduced himself to opponent status.

@Quanah
I like the line on Julio as well! And I dont get it either why Anges was -3000 for his fight agaisnt Porter and only -500 here!

Good parlay material for sure!

Agree on the other fights as well!

I'm pretty heavily invested in Lebedev and Under 12 with Jones WPTS as a hedge...even though I cant see him pulling it off!

When you take a look at DeGales and Groves last fight, you can see what either one is made of!

DeGale looked in control from the beginning up to the end, and he looked very self confident and reliable!

Groves looked only good in glimpses, and Anderson IMO is a pretty ordinary pressure fighter!
