Paulie going to fight on @147 :scared
Who the fvck are they going to dredge up for Mags to fight @ welter??? I sense a Chavez SR comeback. They are coming up with the excuse that Paulie struggled to make 140 and that he generally had to lose 20 lbs or so over the last 3 fights. Against Khan, he just had an " off night" :142smilie. Paulie was just a terror @ 140 with his massive pop. I'm sure the top 10 will be shaking when the beast moves up in weight :mj07:

Shannon Briggs v Rob Calloway...seriously WTF?
This guy has to top the list for the MOST padded record in the history of the heavyweight division. He has lived off giving Lennox Lewis a moment in their fight. I honestly thought Lewis beat the shit out him and it really wasn't remotely close but for one brief moment when Lewis was stunned, at best. He's been owned by Ibrag, McCline, lost to Sedrick Fields of all people, drew with the ordinary Botha, got an early Xmas gift v soon to be 49 yrs old Big George and was ktfo by Darroll Wilson. This guy is more disgraceful than Butterbean. At least the bean got in with guys that had a remote shot at beating him. To top it off Briggs keeps calling out the Klits...FVCK him. He hasn't even earned the right to be their sparring partner. Calloway probably won't get out of 2 rds and then Briggs
will call out the Champs. Let this this con artist keep fighting scrubs for 5 k and eventually he'll just away.

What do you guys think of SOS making it to the latter rds v Vit? IMO the guy is probably no better than a c level fighter. I give him virtually no chance to win in this fight. He's rugged, determined and tough. His speed is a bit slow. He's Polish but certainly not polished :142smilie. I don't see him making into the 10th rd unless Vit has one of the worst nights of his career. Line is -300 to -400 9 1/2 rds. I expect the gulf in class to show immediately and see SOS getting beat up. I expect a corner retirement or ref stoppage around 7 rds or so. Any comments?

Tough call!!

IMO Vitaly is showing his age a little.
He hasnt stopped anybody early in quite some time.

Sosnowski is not great, but he really seems to be up for this fight and he hasnt shown a chin problem in his career either!

A corner stoppage after round 7 or 8 certainly sounds plausible, but I wouldnt be shocked, if Sosnowski enters round 9 or 10!

"the bunker"
a majority decision 6 round win over a 40 year old stump(orlin norris) and a recent decision loss to zuri lawrence are extremely troubling....

from boxrec forum:

In an interview with Sosnowski he said he has been working on lateral movement for this fight. He has been sparring David Price and some other guy I can't rememeber the name of (Eastern European, I think). Sosnowski said that they got Price to mimic Vitali and he tested tactics on him. He said he was able to land. He also said he knows his chances are slim but he'll give it all he's got, and he's willing to take risks.

David Price?!
:mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

That should prepare him nicely for Vitali. Good grief.

some boxing lines at a few UK books and 5-dimes whose limits are a joke. Still no lines at sportsbook.com.

I like it when the lines use to come out on Wednesdays. Waiting until late Thursday is cutting it close, especially when every other book had lines out on Monday for Prize fighter.

Has anyone emailed sportsbook and asked for earlier lines?

It used to be, not so long ago, that sportsbook was usually the first book to come out with the 'complete' set of lines each week - on Wed. Not so anymore. Now the UK books seem to trickle lines out there first, but we don't see the complete lines until late Thursday. I agree, that's cutting it a little close and I would like to see the boxing lines appear earlier.

I think if Vitali goes after him, Sos will not go deep at all. I suppose Sos could surprise and take a long beating, but I see him getting bludgeoned and out of there in five or six...if Vitali goes after him. I don't like the price on 9.5 though. Hard to imagine the fight entering the tenth, but that's steep.

I agree. Vitali took this fight to look impressive and to back off the naysayers who bitch about him not having quick knockouts. Also, if I recall, wasn't Sos buzzed by Zuri Lawrence??? I think so.

Weekend plays

Weekend plays

Carlos Tamara (-210) - big Tamara reached a new level against Viloria. I saw this fight, and he was a buzzsaw all the way thru. Regardless of what scorecards read, he was winning the fight - sweeping championship rounds - when he got the KO in the 12th. He's young, inspired, and has a good team around him. Good amateur background and still improving. If he can beat Viloria in the Philippines, Lazarte shouldn't be a problem in Argentina. This Lazarte is nearly forty, never beaten anyone of real note, and has gotten outclassed whenever he's stepped up. He's a little guy too, just 5-1 against the 5-5 Tamara. Argentina site is of course a concern, but if the Tamara who beat Viloria shows up I just can't see Lazarte measuring up at all.

Antonin Decarie (+110) - medium rare I'll be saying I should've learned my lesson from the Oquendo debacle if this is controversial, but I think M'Baye is shot. More shot than Mormeck - I'm not sure. M'Baye has a goood chin too, and Decarie not a puncher, so this looks to go to cards. Decarie may not be anything special either, but he has passed every test so far. I think Decarie will win clear, and so will take a shot the deck is not stacked.

Klitschko-Sosnowski UNDER 6.5 (+105) - medium rare Round 7 I can live with. I like the odds, and will play that Klit will want to make a statement here. If he's aggressive, I can certainly see Sos bludgeoned into submission before this.

Tamara-Lazarte UNDER 10.5 (+160) - medium rare Back to Tamara..I like the plus odds here. Tamara relentless in there and I can see him overwhelming Lazarte. Lazarte has only been stopped once, but he has lost by DQ 4 times! This tells me that if he is outclassed, he looks for a way out. Tamara KO8.

I also like Burgos and Vasquez Jr. for parlay possibilities.

Good luck boys!!!

Why do you like Moses so much? Does anyone else feel this way about him?

I haven't seen much at all of Moses, but from what I have, and heard and read, I like the look of him. I think he's the real deal, and will win this fight, especially being in Namibia. But... Acosta is too much of an enigma for me to wager here. He hasn't lost in forever and his KO win over Urbano Antillion was very impressive. If the odds were closer to even, I would go on Moses...but at 2 to 1 I will leave it alone.

If anyone sees a line on:
Jonathon Banks vs. Jason Gavern
Jesus Soto-Karass vs. Gabriel Martinez

please let me know...thanks.
