May 1 marked one year since Floyd Mayweather Jr. defeated Shane Mosley by a one-sided unanimous decision. Mayweather, who was THE RING?s No. 2-rated welterweight and No. 2 in the pound-for-pound ratings, has not fought since the Mosley fight.
The 34-year-old former five-division titleholder has made no serious plans or announcements regarding his immediate future in the ring, and as a result, he has been removed from THE RING?s ratings.
It is THE RING?s ratings policy to drop rated fighters who have been inactive for one year from the rankings unless they have a bout scheduled or they are in serious negotiations for a fight.

The former world flyweight champion of the International Boxing Federation, Argentine Luis "El Mosquito" Lazarte, is still trying to digest the defeat ofrom last Saturday's rematch with Mexico's Ulises "Archie" Solis. His lost his title via split decision After twelve rounds at the United Eleven Club in Mar del Plata. Lazarte doesn't blame Solis, but he does blame the three official judges who were appointed by the IBF.
"I wish I had caught a good purse," Lazarte told BoxingScene.com's Carlos Irusta. "I wish I'd taken a lot of money. This division it is so horrible and you take in so little. Honestly, I only got $ 15,000 [from the $75,000 purse bid]. For me I won the fight. Archie Solis did nothing. There were no clean shots, he missed a lot and it was a big circus. I came with the fear of becoming disqualified. The judges, one had me five points behind. It hurt a lot. If he had won it, cleanly, I would accept it. This time, I made a good fight."

Actually, since I feel this "fight" is somewhat of a farce, I ain't betting jack. Truly though, I really do believe Pac can KO Shane IF he wants to; but does he want to drop him or just put on his usual dazzling display? I was invited to watch it and I am not shelling out the $64.95 , but good luck thongie if you pull the trigger.
