Gotta like Cintron at +475 tomorrow. I see this fight as Williams being a very slight favorite. It should be a close fight but I certainly wouldn't count Kermit out

i think Paul is going to knock him out, but I will say it like this.....you gotta like the straight odds on Cintron. Don't blame anyone taking a shot.

I'm not laying the wood here on Wiliams - just put him in a few parlays.

I think pressure, stamina, and physical advantages is the key here. If Jesse Feliciano made Kermit uncomfortable, I can't imagine how bad he is going to piss himself against P-Will.

I would have made the odds more like Williams -300. I think Cintron, with his power, has a shot early. After all, Paul gets hit by everbody (Quintana and Verno Phillips were both tagging him).

But in the end, one guy has HUGE balls here and the other guy has a vagina. It's a boxing match, so I will take the guy with two nuts.

There are 4 MMA events this weekend (Bellator, MFC, KSW, and UFC 113), which I think is taking most of the casinos energy and focus

Unfortunately, the sweet science ain't a priority it seems, as the boxing lines are being largely ignored

Not sure if we are even going to get lines on the Telefutura card or the Margarito PPV

Williams warns Cintron
"I'm gonna try and kill him to death."
:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

No odds on the Nashiro-Cazares rematch.
I'm shocked. High profile bout in Japan.
Tough fight to call regardless.

No Telefutura either.

Boxing definitely getting no love.

I've seen Margarito anywhere from -260 to -800
oddsmakers with wide, varying opinions of Roberto "Hammer of Thor" Garcia

Every time the best crew on the planet is on the wrong side they sure start to wine. "OOooo poore me, the bad judges stole my money". But when you are wining, "OOOoooo I'm so great, I knew the judges would give it to my fighter". Come on best crew on the planet, shape up.....:director:

Whatever dude....a shitty decision is a shitty decision, and we have the right to comment on that. From all fight reports, Oquendo got screwed. What you call whining, I call telling it like it is. Ain't heard too many picks out of you Hellephant. Why don't you give us something we can use, rather than just instigating comments after the fact.

Garden Weasel was right on with everything said. We all just underestimated the reality that the fight was in France - and that Oquendo has a tendency to make fights close...but from what I read it wasn't that close.

You said it mon!! Geez, no odds on:

Nashiro vs. Cazares
Mitchell vs. Griffen
Honorio vs. Mendez
Dallas Jr. vs. J.Lopez (great fight between 2 young prospects)

no love...of course I'm happy they dropped the ball (and a moneymaking opp.) on the the Oquendo fight. Would have been a bigger loss for me.

......

......

People should be happy there is as many lines as there is. Vegas certainly don't carry 25% of what offshore does. When I was at the Mayweather-Mosley fight this weekend the only other fight I saw offered was Khan-Malinaggi. Hell they didn;t even list the undercard and I was in several different books.

That is true, but that's why most of us prefer the online books to the old casino ways. I think it's just the inconsistency of the online books which bites us a little... Sometimes they offer a wide variety of fights, sometimes no without much rhyme or reason. A world title fight like Cazares vs. Nashiro would generally be offered.

Williams vs Cintron

Williams vs Cintron

Do you guys think there will be props for this fight? Or just staight up and under/over?

Really hoping for an inside the distance prop, but maybe I'm being too unrealistic for a fight that surpisingly has had little promotion.

Weekend plays

Weekend plays

Quezada-Gavern OVER 8.5 (-120) - large The first fight went 10 easy. Quezada was down from a flash kd, but was ruled a slip. Both were tired at the end, but neither fighter was remotely hurt. Neither has much power either. I see another fight much like the first, which was just a month ago. Barring a cut or shenanigans, I think this has distance written all over it.

Solis-Santiago OVER 8.5 (-120) - medium Santiago has never been stopped, only Pacquiao has stopped Solis. Santiago has looked a bit shaky at times, he's been down but has always recovered. He's also a good boxer who knows how to move. Solis is rugged, but he's not a real big power guy. I can see Solis maybe wearing him down late, but I actually think Santiago's got a better chance than 5 to 1 odds suggest.

Seth Mitchell (-215) - medium Mithcell is raw, but appears to have some potential. He's also the promoted guy here. Johnnie White has fought meatball after tomato can. Alot of ko's, but 8 round decision to oft ko'd Cliff Couser gives some indication as to his true ability. The first time he got in there with a real fighter - Guinn - the fight lasted 2 minutes. Mitchell takes care of him, I'd say by ko in 3-4 rounds.

Richard Hall (+800) - tiny At this price it's worth a shot. Hall is tall, strong, and yes a bit limited, but he can really whack. He is by far the best opponent that this young Cuban has faced. Despaigne is just 5-0, and fought in the amateurs as a middleweight. Cubans going pro get a whole lot of credit, and they usually pan out, but not always (Yan Barthelemy) Maybe Hall connects? Maybe the Cuban is not quite ready?

Stilll looking around, but that's the crux of it.

Good luck fellas!!!

Point well taken. Many times, in Vegas, I can't even get plays on the TELEVISED undercard bouts on HBO and Showtime. Boxing is largely ignored for sports that bring in more money. And when I do go to place a bet at the Wynn, Bellagio, etc., most of my questions about lines are greeted with puzzled looks and questions like "What's the fighter's name? When is it?"

Frank did mention The Plaza in Vegas - I know they used to hang a few more lines than other casinos.
Regardless, offshore clearly offers more options. Way more.

MayorgaFan, both you and Joey have been very helpful answering questions I've had in the past (the 60 day rule, the Botha-Carrion debacle, etc). I very much appreciate any time either of you guys step in and lend advice, criticism, etc. It's all a learning process for me as I try to get better and better at this.

But I do think its a fair statement to say the books are ignoring boxing more than they used to. Not just Oddessa - but obviously he is the main and most widely respected line setter. I see MANY MANY futures for MMA (which I know is a faster growing sport betting wise). Not only are there more MMA lines out, but they are out A LOT earlier than the boxing lines.

I think Joey is more interested in MMA. That's his choice and his right - he sets the lines. But when Quanah speaks of the inconsistencies he is correct. One week we get a random chick fight Tada vs. Ramnarine. Then the next week no line on Cazares vs. Nashiro (a big title rematch in Japan). It's surprising.

To Joey's credit, I think he tries to get everything up that he considers important. Last year, he added Angulo-Yorgey late after requests.

To balance both sports is a lot of work - I get that.

We are all grateful for whatever lines are offered each week. Life is good.

By the way, the more I watch it, the more I agree with you. BJ Penn got fucked. Just can't see Edgar taking 3 rounds there. Cost me HUGE.

Good luck this weekend everyone. Screw Kermit Cintron.

I think 5dimes will have props for it
HBO televised main event - I would be surprised if they didn't.
