I like Lebedev over Alexeev. Lebedev looks like a very well schooled fighter. He stays in the pocket and makes you pay for all your mistakes. He made it look rather easy v Ismailov and Enzo. Ismailov nearly upset Ramiraz who had just made Alexeev quit. Alexeev reminds me of a young Wlad. He's puts his punches together rather nicely but he gasses when pressured. Ramiraz didn't land any huge shots but Alexeev absolutely wilted under the pressure. Alexeev is the house fighter but I think Lebed can get him out late in the fight. Aleexev wasn't exactly spectacular v the limited and overweight Alexander and he fought 2 scrubs since. His lack of late rd fights will cost him here IMO. I think Alexeev takes the early rds but will gas in the 2nd half.

i think you`re right,romi...lebedev is a little more impressive on film,imo...alexeev looks a tad stiff...

of course homecourt is huge...but brobury is posting a -140...that`s within my range...

homecourt will probably screw us,though...

Why do Angulo and Alcine look like they're twice the size of Bradley and Abregu? Geez, there's only 1 weight class and 7lbs difference between these guys. It's got to be the angle, but anyway you look at it Angulo has got a huge head.

Weekend Plays

Weekend Plays

All right, this is more like it. Very busy weekend compared to recent ones. I've got no less than six wagers going, and here they are:

Denis Lebedev (-140) - large I watched quite a bit of video for this one, namely Lebedev's fights with Macca, Castillo, and Ismailov (all three of which are much better than anyone Alexeev has beaten). I came away very impressed with Lebedev. The dude has got a genuine fighter's instinct. He doesn't fight like a typical eastern bloc guy. He is loose, aggressive, and even quick in spots. He is confident and tough, and from what I see a future world champ. To me, he has that special element of knowing how and when to engage. Alexeev is upright and stiff. A look at his record shows major protection. I think he is in for an ass whoopin', and will be genuinely surprised if this wager doesn't come thru.

Mike Dallas Jr. (-140) - medium Also watched a good share of footage here. I like Dallas. He was an standout amateur and from what I see a very stylish boxer. He's also seems to be settling down on his shots better. Training at Wild Card, including many rounds sparring with Pacquiao must have done him alot of good. He has been matched soft, but so has Lane for that matter. Lane is tough, but a straight forward type, and even a bit crude at times. I see Dallas clearly outboxing Lane.

Angulo-Alcine UNDER 8.5 - medium (+160) Got some nice early odds here. Round 9 not so late, but Angulo is an animal. Alcine has been dummied before and by Daniel Santos, a much lesser puncher. I don't think Alcine is strong enough to hold Perro off. He's also 34. I can really envision a relatively early ending here.

Ishe Smith (+300) - small Ishe is a very classy boxer. His problem is that he's not active enough, which could be poison against the energetic Guerrero. For Guerrero's part though, he may be a bit overrated, and this fight may have come a couple too soon. I can see Ishe taking him to school a bit. I see Ossie Duran as sort of a poor man's version of Ishe, and he gave Guerrero all he could handle. At +3 it's worth a shot.

Jose Armando Santa Cruz (+450) - small It seems that Santa Cruz's only problem is that he's a bit chinny. Not good against Judah, who punches sharply...but Judah's gettin' a bit old here. He even looks old to me. I don't like him dropping weight at this point in his career. Santa Cruz can look very impressive at times, and I think Judah is in for a real fight here. Judah saying the right things but we'll see. I can see Zab getting tired and busted up if fight doesn't end early. At this price, worth a shot.

Montiel-Concepcion OVER 8.5 (+140) - small
I would go bigger here on a lesser week, and may add if other wagers pan out. I think Montiel is also in for a war. Donaire couldn't get Concepcion to move. He is a rugged guy. Montiel riding high off of Hasegawa upset, which could mean a bit of a let down here. Montiel has also had some recent struggles against relatively ordinary guys. I see a grueling fight.

Good luck guys!!!!

I was always wondering and never asked this question to boxer like Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz according to documentary about Valero was the only one who can hold his own in sparring with Valero. So he is the real deal. BUT his body looks terrible like he never did pull ups or any weight training in his life. Seriously, I am very curious can he do 20 pull ups or not?
I was in army long time ago and I saw thousands guys and who looks like Santa Cruz can not do even 10 pull ups, I never saw any exceptions. But then again we have no world class boxers like Santa Cruz.
And what is about Mexican boxers why they bodies looks so horrible, are they eating the most horrible food in the world or it is genetics?

i`ve always felt the same about the long, angular mexican fighters....actually,many mexican fighters never really look buff.....sure,there are exceptions....but,imo,for the most part, they aren`t exactly a buff looking group.... many of these angular dudes are tougher than nails,though....

i`m guessing it must be a genetic issue...

ishe smith is an enigma to me...he`s an excellent defensive fighter....slick and pretty talented....but his work rate and his ability to gauge where he stands as a fight progresses kill him in some fights that he seems to actually be able to win....

i guess you just can`t ever underestimate just how much of the fight game is mental...this weekend we`re seeing two classic examples of guys with real gifts(smith and especially judah) that seem to have horrible instincts....judah`s probably just crazy...smith seems to have a blank emotional make-up...a blunt effect...he can`t rise to the occassion...

the + odds on montiel over might be worth a small play...only 8.5...and the dallas/lane fight is only an 8`er(from what i`ve read)...the fact that it`s only 8 might favor the tall boxer...i was looking at lane until i realized it was an 8`er...but contrary to what i`ve read online, and although a bit sloppy, lane is not just a brawler...he`s got quicks......

might parlay angulo inside(-175) with something....to try and get plus odds.. matbe with dallas....

g.l. guys...

My bets for this week are-

Yuri to beat Hatton at +185.
I would bet my granny at + odds against Hatton.
Hatton has improved and gone from complete and utter dogshit to just utter dogshit.
I also might bet Yuri to win by stoppage at +500 as Hatton can be cut and sometimes gets wobbled against non-punchers. SMALL.

Barrett to beat Tua at +2000.
I don't care how good Tua looks, he should not be this big a favourite over anyone with a pulse or not named Shane Cameron.
I expect Tua to win within 3 rounds but you never know. VERY SMALL.

Judah/Santa Cruz under 8 1/2 at -120.
I think Judah smokes Santa Cruz quickly. I think Zab will be looking to impress.
He should have never gone to 147. I don't know what the Fuck he was thinking??? Fighting monsters like Clottey at 143???
He is now fighting at his premium weight class against a guy who has been decked and stopped by powder puff punchers at 135 such as David Diaz and Edner Cherry. SMALL.

Alexeev to beat Lebedev by stoppage at +450. Sorry guys. Going against the board here. I think Alexeev is being vastly underrated in this spot.
I believe he is the quicker, bigger, more talented fighter here.
I think he took Ramirez for granted, probably didn't train too hard and paid the price in a fight he was winning.
I think he lands a few sledgehammer shots and busts up Lebedev within 6 rounds.
If it go's past 6 rounds, he will be in shit as his stamina might not be good for a 12 rounder.
Alexeev is not a punching bag like Enzo, I want to see how Lebedev reacts to being cracked by a big, strong Cruiser.
There is also National pride involved. This can do strange things to a fighter.
This is my biggest bet. MEDIUM.

I won't bet on the other fights but here is my opinions-

Bradley beats Abregu ITD.
Bradley is too quick and Abregu is too chinny.

Dallas should beat Lane in an 8 rounder but from the video i seen of Dallas, he looks off balance and hittable.

Angulo should beat Alcine ITD.

I would love to bet on Ishe at +300 BUT his activity level is such a huge let down. He has the skill but not the punch output.
He is too frustrating to bet on.

Good luck all!!!! :toast:

the kohl/universum/germany aspect of this fight has me cringing....if lebedev doesn`t get the stoppage, things will likely not go in his favor........

i`ve always said,"location,location,location"...so,i`m going to off my lebedev wager... don`t like betting fights with limited options to win unless i`m entirely convinced....i`m not entirely convinced......

The Brahmer fight is OFF. He injured his back yesterday. The rest of of the card is still on :0074.

I'm on Lebed-Lrge-reasons I mentioned earlier and I also agree with Quanahs post

Zab-The guy is a little thug but he can still fight and he's explosive-bad ingredients for a somewhat weak chinned Santa Cruz.

Gierrero-I could lose this one if Ishe shows up but the guy has missed the bus on soooo many fights. He does just enough to lose. I'm not really over impressed with Guerrero. In fact i wouldn't have placed the wager had I seen all the footage I did. I still think he's busy enough to get a close nod. Ishe should fight Clottey...somebody might actually be compelled to throw some punches.

Angulo-Perro gets it done here in impressive fashion.

Good luck Gents!.
